Default Is Xiao Feng a big muscle man with no character?

Someone once made the case that XF is just a boring, bland character with big muscles. Take away GJ's slowness, turn up the nob on the big guy factor, and you get XF.

    Do you agree?

Xiao Feng was the representative of the unreflected life. He leapt before thinking, for which he paid dearly for when he killed Ah Zhu. When he made sacrifices, it was for his own pride. In the end, he changed and his final act was one of self reflection and made for others, not for his own.

Guo Jing was slow but he was also methodical, he did not leap and ask questions later. He had little pride and naturally made sacrifices for others without thinking of himself.

The 2 characters, IMHO, could not be more different.

Atleast he stands out from the witty smart clones that make up the other half of JY's protagonists.
What do you define as character? He's not perfect, he goes through a range of emotions, staying steady on the angry and sad side of things.

I thought "witty smart clones" were more characteristic of Gu Long stories.. For JY protagonists, I can only think of Yang Guo, Linghu Cheong & Wei Xiaobao (who is definitely not a typical protagonist). Of course, I don't know much about the less known novels, and I haven't really read many GL stories (mainly the Dagger Lee series, Twins, LXF and I've heard a bit about CLX and WuLin WaiShi.. quite a few of these stories have a "witty smart" protagonist)
