Default What's a safe distance to stand when watching masters fight?

It's often been remarked to weaker fighters and non-fighters that in a battle of high-level martial artists, they should stand clear so as not to become collateral damage. Given the long-range chi attacks of the very best wuxia fighters, how far from the fight does one need to stand to be considered "safe" (and yet, still able to view the fight)?

It was only in DGSD that LDA's were common. Otherwise, it really all depends primarily on the fighters, and how far their feet lead them to move. When people can project their palm power that far and have that much power, generally they have 'finesse' as well; they don't want to waste their power with it being converted into 'splash' damage, so to speak.

Of course, if you are Ding Chunqiu's apprentice, chances are you want to stay FAR away from him!

I'm gonna stand at least 20 feet away because lord knows someone gonna blow up a rock/wall/tree/someone else and a piece of debris gonna hit me in the eye.
I would love to change the world, but they won't give me the source code.

This might sound like a paradox, but the stronger and more skilled a fighter is, the closer you can go and watch it.

Reference: YPY's fight with Master Nuu in Ming Jiang Feng Liu.

Except for that Shi Potian fight with the Island Lords which seemed to smash every wall near them.

I'd rather not learn kung fu then to be DCQ's disciple!
