that is what happen when you know a lot of people. I have always thought it was strange that GJ never really know QZ martial art as in palm and sword technique when he actually know the 7 master themselves. but his daughter know so much.

i thought that it was one of the sad palm moves

curious note: i did a little reading elsewhere and found out that zhang sanfeng became a taoist under qiu quji of quezhen and wudangs taoist philosphy came from quezhen. since zhang sanfeng created most of his martial arts from his taoist learnings there's a strong connection between wudand and quezhen(white cloud monstrey). point, due to the fact that ZSF was a runaway from shaolin, it's logical that he didn't learn any martial arts from QZ but possible he learned some basic neigong cultivation like guo jing did as that's actually considered part of their taoist cultivation then martial arts. also it was stated in the hsds that he started to create his martial arts before he became a priest. so 9yang with comprehenshion obtained from studying nature led to his early created skills and QZ taoist philosphy led to eventually creation of taji quan. what you thank, possible?

Nope, it was one of three techniques that Yang Guo taught to Zhang Junbao at the end of ROCH.

The historical Zhang Sanfeng was indeed a follower of the Quanzhen religion, but in Jin Yong novels there was no such link.

What about Ren Ying Ying? Everyone talks about Huang Rong and Xiao Longnu. Wasn't her kung fu pretty good too?

Well, the things I mentioned above are actually the arts and styles that the characters truly mastered... I did not include loose techniques (the Taiji techniques Hu Fei learned were profound methods on its' own). In Guo Xiang's case, she knows a lot of loose techniques, but the only system she truly mastered was her own invented style of Emei.

Should JMZ have all his shaolin skills listed? Considering his Shaolin skills were powered by non-shaolin inner energy. Does that mean he didn't really 'master' them?
All that's needed to say have been said, why say anything more? The man is drunk, why stay any longer?....
