I've included WYY as a permenant member of my team now (after getting all the items I could get recruiting characters) because of her ability to incease and decrease other people's damages. Initially I just try to increase her lightness skill so that I can get her as far away from the battlefield as possible when I include her in the battle. I also increased her ability to use 'hidden weapon' because that's the only skill in her stats that is not '0'. Only today I thought of teaching her the '9 Yang Shen Gong' and I found that she is surprisingly powerful. The damages she caused using '9 Yang' level 8 is actually higher than the damages caused by ZWJ using '9 Yang' level 10. What more, she learn things as fast as LHC (she only needs 1000 pts to learn the 18 figurine skill) and she doesn't need FCY to enlighten her first. Too bad she can't learn many skills because of all the '0's in her stats. If not, she would be a very powerful fighter. Anyway she is still a worthy member to have because of her ability to decrease the damages of the enemies.

I thought 9 Yang needed 20 palm skill? If WYY has a 0 there, how can she learn it?

I dunno. WYY's palm skill stat was (and still is) indeed '0' and I was indeed able to train her up to level 10 of '9 Yang Shen Gong'.

Maybe your game guide got it wrong . LHC has only 18pts for his palm skill stat and he can also learn '9 Yang Shen Gong'.

Btw, what skills are these 2? I dunno this word '鞭'.
    毒龙鞭法:轻盈灵巧,千变万化之鞭法。
    黄沙万里鞭法:相传至西域之鞭法。

Also how do u increase this stat 武器与护具?

On lightness skill, I found it strange that everyone (in my team) can increase their lightness skill to 100 except LHC. No matter how many times I let him learn 'Ling Bo Wei Bu' or other lightness skill martial art, his lightness skill stat still remain 80.

That's 'bian', or whip. All those martial arts are whip-based skills (probably suitable for Nan Fenghuang - now I'm tempted to restart the game with her and see what happens).

The only one I recognise is 'Du Long Bian Fa" or Poisonous Dragon Whip - that's what Mei Chaofeng uses before she resorts to her claws.

Happy Chinese New Year, everyone!! Especially to AresInvincible, Xiao Feng and Swordwiz who patiently answered my never ending questions.
Also to The Khan and Ian Liew who help out once in a while.

This game sounds awesome, is there fan translation or an indepth FAQ so that a none Chimese speaking person can play this game? YesAsia has it for $2.99, I'd buy it at that price even if I could find a fan translation but, I need to understand whats going on...

Also what are the system requirements, well, more like will I be able run it on a current system. You guys said that it was released in 95, then I'm guessing I should be good.

Also is it in Pinyin or Chinese characters? In other words what dictionary should I go buy and keep by my side through my playing.

9 Yang only requires you to have Yang internal energy to learn...that's why even LHC can learn it! (although there's no battle animation)

All whip skills can only be used by Lan Pheonix, but they are really weak.

What are the equipments of your LHC? There are many equipments and weapons that decrease your character's lightness skill, such as Xuan Tie Sword decreases speed by 15, and Dragon Sabre decreases speed by 20. Perhaps that's why your LHC's speed stays at 80.

武器与护具? There's actually a stat for weapons and equipments that you can increase? I've never seen that on my game!

EDIT: Oh yeah, happy new year to y'all too!

    Hi,

Is there any other way to determine the intelligence of a character other than testing it with that sword skill from LPZ's place? I see the game guide has listed the intelligence requirment for a lot of the skills. How does the writer know the exact points needed if there's no way for players to see the points?

Is there any cheat code or is there any indication in the stats (e.g. sword/sabre/lightness/ stats low = low intelligence)?

I'm start a new game and I've tested 3 stats. 2 of them need 90pts to learn the sword skill while another need 60pts. It's a bit tiresome having to test it again and again. Is 90pts really not stupid enough?

I would guess the writer of that guide hacked into the game itself and retrived the requirements for the different manuals. The information on there should be pretty accurate as I've seen that guide in many places, such as a magazine in China, on several other websites, and e-mails.

Happy new years to everyone too! Anyone watch the programs put out by CCTV for the new years?

    Hi,

I found a stat that needs exactly 120 pts to learn the 'Song Feng Jian Fa' (the sword skill from LPZ's place). It's energy type is Yin energy. But I still can't learn the L/R technique even though I have not learn any intelligence incerasing skills like 9Yang or 9Yin or go to places that supposely increase one's intelligence like "Xi Guo Ja' or the chef place. Why? Do I need to be >120pts? So, my point should be at least 150?

I'm near the end of the game now. I've already became the 'wulin' leader and I have given that staff to that guy at 霹雳堂. He gave me a key and to me that the entrance back to my world is 'under our feet'. I've tried going to all the underground tunnels, searched the whole of 霹雳堂, searched the 'yuan yan' sabre cave, go to peach blossom island, searched the 'wulin da hui' place, searched shaolin and searched my own home but still can't find that place. The South Wisdom and North Clown also dunno. Where is the entrance? Anyone can help me?

Go to the kitchen of 霹雳堂, there is a closed door, use the key on that door.

Ah!!! I could have killed myself. Why didn't I try the kitchen door??? I tried the key on the closed to door in the 'wulin da hui' place but never thought of trying it on the kitchen door. Heck, I didn't even notice the kitchen door is closed (because I could see everything inside so didn't pay attention to the door). Now, I lost the satisfaction of solving the last puzzle myself forever.

    Thanks, anyway.

Yeah, that last piece of puzzle is surprisingly hard... I think I couldn't find it for awhile either

Be sure to save after you put all the books in their right places, or else if you die during the final battle you will have to put all the books in again, and that takes forever.

No worry, I won the battle on the first try. It's not hard when u have L/R technique+Wild Ball Fist and a supply of medicine that replenish life.

Next time you should be evil, this way you will fight different characters at the end. Including Hong 7 Gong, Zhou Buo Tong, and other "good" people. Its much harder, and much more fun

Thanks guys for not taking two seconds out of your time to reply to my questions, I'm sure that with everything else you guys have you can't answer me even as to what language it's in.

First, this is a free forum. People don't have the obligation to answer every question posted.
Secondly, I remember your original post only has this question:-

"This game sounds awesome, is there fan translation or an indepth FAQ so that a none Chinese speaking person can play this game? YesAsia has it for $2.99, I'd buy it at that price even if I could find a fan translation but, I need to understand whats going on..."

I didn't answer your question at that time because I did not know the answer to that question.

I never notice that u have added these 2 questions in your post:-

"Also what are the system requirements, well, more like will I be able run it on a current system. You guys said that it was released in 95, then I'm guessing I should be good.

Also is it in Pinyin or Chinese characters? In other words what dictionary should I go buy and keep by my side through my playing."

because, why would I go back and read post that I have already read before? I'm sure it's the same case for the usually helpful people like Xiao Feng, Swordwiz and AresInvincible. They just missed your questions.

    ************************************************** **************

Well, here is my answer to your last 2 questions (I still do not know the answer to your 1st question):

I'm playing this game on my Windows 98 2nd edition PC. I have not tried in on other windows. But since the game run on DOS, I think it should be ok for other Windows version too. It certainly will run on Windows 98 2nd edition.

The language use in this game is chinese. There is no pinyin in this game. So, if u want to buy a dictionary specifically to play this game, buy a dictionary that u can search by the number of strokes in a character. The dictionary that include the 'zi bian' (that simplified character that is on either the left or top of some chinese characters) in it's search will be better.

    ************************************************** **************

Btw, being sarcastic is no way to ask for help.
