My Girl... I cried so much when the home-alone boy died...
The Lion King... i cried in the cinema watching Simba's dad die and him crying for him!
Pearl harbour... it wasn't all that but it was sad when Josh Hartnett died.
Can't remember anymore, but i cry easily so...

Grave of the Fireflies, hands down. In fact I arrived at this thread by googling "saddest movie" after watching GoTF. Like many of you, I can't watch it through again..... I can't even get past the starting again where Seito and Setsuko were opening the candy tin on the train....

Incidently, this thread is more than two years old and going strong!

I dunno whats the title called, anyone remember a very old movie with Chow Yun Fatt and Silvia Chang in it? And a lil boy. It was about Chow Yun Fatt taking part in a motorbike race and he died in the end. That was so sad. The music and everything. Everytime I hear that same song (mandarin version: Ni De Yang Zi, canto I forgot), I just have flashbacks from the movie. And feel sad. Lol. I'm such an emo..

Charlotte's Web? Aww I love that book.

Haven't seen it though, in the midst of my hectic life. I don't know about Dakota Fanning as Fern though...let's just say from what I've seen, Dakota Fanning hasn't impressed me as a great actress. She was good in "I Am Sam" and that's really it.

    Titanic is incredibly sad

    And Bambi.

Yeah... i agree - Titanic. so sad. another one is <第601的电话> with Zhou bi chang, hu ge, and zhang pa zi.

One movie i didnt know what it was called, but there was this girl, and her family were complete ***holes. she worked day and night, living in a squished place, all by her self. She worked at this restaurant, and when someone didnt finish the food, she would secretly wrap it up, and bring it home to eat, even if someone had eaten half of it, coz she didnt want to waste money in buying food. She slowly traded up money, as well as training for boxing. But in the end, she got hit by the world champion boxer, coz the champion boxer was jealous of this girl, coz she hit the champion in the face (of course that happens in boxing); so then the poor girl had to spend her life in hospital, and then, she decided to suicide.

Gu, you are so terrible! How can you laugh at other's misery?

Anyhow, have you seen the "Notebook?" If not, I HIGHLY recommend it! It's such a beautiful, well-written, and well-acted love story. It surpasses Titanic in my book.

Still up bella? I thought you would be in your cozy bed at this hour.

Thanks for the recommendation, I'll make sure to rent that one next time I go to the VDO store.

Another sad one is the "Passion of the Christ." That's one emotionally taxing movie. It's so powerful and gut wrenching that I was emotionally exhausted afterward. I don't think I can ever bring myself to watch that movie again, but it was worth it the 1st time around.
