(qin) jing ke - originally doesnt want to leave "kuai huo gu" . he's is love with xiao hu, a girl he and fanyuqi grew up with.
later becomes an assassinator after hu almost got him killed. becomes one of the most successful assassinator of the time.

loves: yexiao hu, then yunxi, then wanlan princess (plays yuk chi in twins of dragon with raymond lam!!!).

fanyuqi - a qin decendent but grew up in zhao guo and later befriends qin and xiaohu. is ambitious, wants to help change the world for the better even if it meant fighting for qin and conquering all 6 nations.
original in love with xiaohu but gives up his love for his ambition.
realises one day that hes wrong and goes to "yan guo" to find qin.
loves: xiaohu but his true love is mengyan.

yep xiaohu - poor girl who saw her mum stealing valuables from the dead and being killed by qin troops. love triangle btwn her, qin and qi.
doesnt want to be poor, wants money, power, guys to protect her, uses love to pull them in. later goes crazy about money. marries an old dude whos the richest person in "qi guo" but then sleeps with the bodyguard and later frame qin for the murder of her husband.
loves: qi, qin and wuya (but i don't think she actually loved anyone one of them more than she loved money)

yunxi - doctor for "wei guo" troops. is a kind hearted and sweet person who treats anyone that is injured. meets qin and gao jianli (peter ho), hates war and suffering. risks her life to save her people.
loves: qin

gao jianli - plays music and one day hopes music can bring everyone together. kind of a wise guy whose always seem to be giving jingke advise. been looking for his love for 7 years. is "yan guo" person.
loves: xi something - forgot her name she will show up when the settings in "yanguo"

wanlan princess (li qian)- smart person who likes to think that she can be like the guys. cheeky character, very lovable. the princess of "yan guo"
loves: qin
(my favourite character!!!)

plot

let's just say that no one in the series actually survive, except for gao jianli cause he's not involved with the fighting or anything.

everyone dies in this series!!

xiaohu wasnt worth loving cause i dont really think she actually loved him at all, she uses people for better.

he meets yunxi and she leads him to understand that killing isnt the answer so he was going to give up being an assassine and go with her but "qinguo" breaks thru to "weiguo" and yunxi gets killed sad.

he later mets princess and likes her but doesnt want anything to happen between them cause of last experiences but later confesses he does have feelings and then he goes on a mission to kill "yingzhen - king of qin" and he fails (guessing he dies as well) and she hears the news and kills herself, "yanguo" is destroyed and the selfish prince is beheaded and taken to the king! hehe...

isnt liqian's such a cheeky character in here?? i liked her and yunxi... its a pity. you should watch her in twins of brothers as well!!!

do u like jingke's character? i think hes not very smart, hes very annoying in my opinion!

This was shown around Christmas time in China. I saw some episodes and found it mildly entertaining. The story is mostly fictional stuff about Jing Ke, but the BEST part is Jing Ke isn't even in most of the scenes. The part I began seeing was all about Nie Wuya (my fav), Lu Xiaohu, with very little Jing Ke in it. Then for a long time it was about Taizi Dan and Fan Wuqi.

Fight scenes switch between high-cgi and pure made-for-tv styles, which generate a strong sense of inconsistency.

What I liked: end song sounds great, has good lyrics and beat. Also, the fact that Jing Ke assassinating the emperor is never shown makes it more effective--most ppl have seen this scene on TV, or at least knows about it. So there's really no point re-inventing the wheel here. Besides, this series is much more about Jing Ke's love life and young adventures than the assassination.

Yeah, Liu Ye is one of the most talented young actors in the Mainland. I didn't know about him when I saw this series, but now that I have seen several of his films, I must say that he is one of the best (the greatest of all is still veteran Jiang Wen).
