Finally! I forced myself to face the pain and watched the Foundation. I'm up to ep 1-5 now and the recap and some screen shots can be found here:
    http://becomingicha.blogspot.co.id/s...ndation%201984
    http://becomingicha.blogspot.co.id/s...ion%20episodes

I will post the recap of other episodes in the coming days. Have to take it slowly cos it's a painful process, watching this series...

Needless to say, it has spoilers...but so far it's still safe...

I seem to have 12 episodes with about 60 minutes run time each episode.

I wrote a fan-fiction for the Foundation. It's my attempt to bridge the four main MB wuxia stories together. It started at the end of Ep 20 of Fearless Duo when Lam Chor Yin accidentally broke the jar that contained Szeto Man Mo’s soul. Contains plentiful reincarnation viewpoints. The Foundation 1984, the Legend of Condor Heroes 1982, Chor Lau Heung 1984 and Fearless Duo 1984 and their characters are the properties of TVB Hong Kong.

Not everyone's cup of tea, but it works for me to mend my broken heart for what Li Sai Man did to Sik Sik...

I have posted the happy OST of the Foundation where Li Sai Man brought Sik Sik for an outing in Ep 4:

Totally love the song and the scenes! Wish the rest of the movies were all this happy...

It's a good series... starts off really good. I used to have this series, don't know where it went, so haven't watch it in a long time.
keep up the good fan work stories =)

Thanks a lot, Nan Ling...Oh, YouTube banned the video (sigh), so I moved it to Dailymotion:

    http://www.dailymotion.com/video/x3f...y-laughters_tv

I watched the original Cantonese on Tudou, but I also superimposed it with the Mandarin ver (sound turned off) cos I have the Indonesian subtitles for that one.

    http://www.tudou.com/listplay/yZ3K_K...5kboiTUgI.html

And... Finally I got over the obstacles and screen capped the painful scenes from Eps 11-12!

    http://becomingicha.blogspot.com.au/...eps-10-12.html

Particularly of course the scene where LSM killed SS sad.gif(((

but also including Lok Wan's departure and some LSM vs KF stuff.

    Gosh, that was painful...

I still want to screen cap Ep 8-9 cos I didn't cap some LSM/SS scenes there, but that would be much easier than this.

    Enjoy, if you can...

thanks Nan Ling for the compliments. Yeah... It's so sad how Sik Sik died...

Try these ones for the Tudou vids. I used Video Downloader to download those vids, it worked.

I might be able to upload the screen caps of ep 7-9 tonight. Will post the links here once I've done it.

This is truly a heart broken story. Life itself is full of sufferings especially during ancient time where sickness and death can happen at any moment. I wonder why people just killed off their loved ones for power, something they can easily live without. I remember some quote like this "It is better not to be born in the royal family". Life is better if you don't have any connection with the people on power. For personal gain, they are willing to backstab/betray/sacrifice you at any moment with little or no remorse. In this story, if Sik Sik and Kong Fung didn't leave the village, they would have a very good life to be with each other.

I agree... it's a very saaaad story... And yes, those "poor" people with power; backstabbing every time... I don't think it has stopped now, it just goes more "subtle" somehow.

The story reminded me somewhat of Bu Bu Jing Xin, where Si Ye had to fight for the throne to save his brother. IMO in Si Ye's case, he had more reasons to fight for the throne. With Li Sai Man in this series, we just saw how greedy 1st and 3rd princes were, but LSM himself wasn't a gold character either.

Except when he was with Sik Sik. IMO, whenever he was with Sik Sik, Li Sai Man became a normal guy who could have been living a happy life, had he overcome his ego and fear...

By the way, I've written my review/impressions of the series here:

and I've finished recapping the screen shots for eps 8-9 here:
    http://becomingicha.blogspot.com.au/...p-eps-6-9.html

since I'm LSM/SS-centric (please forgive me...), I don't find anything interesting for me to recap for ep 7. If I do find anything later tho, I will add more...

In history, he did kill his elder and younger brother. Not sure whether he killed his lover for power.
Remind me of Korean King Segong's father who killed his brothers for the throne too.

He did not kill his love for power as Sik Sik and Kong Fung are fictional characters. Regarding LSM, he killed both his brothers and their sons as well. He took his younger brother wife, Princess Yang, as a concubine.

I uploaded "Days of Happy Laughters" with English sub to Dailymotion here:

    http://www.dailymotion.com/video/x3h...ers-eng-sub_tv

I don't know how to embed from Dailymotion to this site tho, so you just have to go to DM, or to my blog:

Enjoy! And let me know if the translation isn't correct. I wouldn't be the wiser.

Happy New Year, guys! Was hoping to catch some sleep today, but MB bugged me to produce a new MV. Hence, here's the three MB wuxia series of The Foundation, Chor Lau Heung and Fearless Duo. Music is from my favourite Coco Lee, A Love Before Time (Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon).

    http://becomingicha.blogspot.com.au/...iubarbara.html

The premise is similar to my Karmic Connection fanfiction, which apparently has drawn some good readerships.
    http://becomingicha.blogspot.com.au/...ara-wuxia.html

there's another MB MV down the pipeline (I wish I'm this productive with my papers...), but I need to sleep before subbing the Canto...

oh, and I made a Fearless Duo MV two nights ago, and since I'm posting this, I am also piggybacking the FD MV... Song is "Accidentally in Love" (Shrek).

I posted a new "The Foundation 1984 MV" at Dailymotion and Vimeo.

    http://becomingicha.blogspot.com.au/...n-1984-mv.html

Bearing Dave Wong's aptly titled "Heart Break" song, the MV shows Li Sai Man's regret over what he had done to Chun Sik Sik; all for the throne. Hence the opening is the lonely coronation scene where the new Emperor was not happy despite being the new ruler of the Tang Dynasty. The Foundation 1984 is the property of TVB Hong Kong; no copyright infringement intended.

and here's a happier MV of the Foundation for you and other TF lovers here. I used Michelle Pau's jolly "Days of Happy Laughters" song for this MV.

Hope it mends the bruises from the "Heart Break"...

    Apologies for cross-posting.

To accommodate the growing wuxia/jianghu posts I have on my personal blog, I have published a new blogspot specifically for that topic. This blog is specifically for wuxia, jianghu or wulin posts, in particular those featuring Michael Miu Kiu Wai and Barbara Yung Mei Ling.

    http://riverandlakerealm.blogspot.com.au/

Below are some links for the four main Michael/Barbara wuxia series:

    LOCH 1982:

    The Foundation 1984:

    Fearless Duo 1984:

The New Adventures of Chor Lau Heung 1984:

I have copied all old posts of those series from my old blog to the new blog. All comments have been imported there too.

I posted a new fanfiction for The Foundation, about Li Sai Man meeting his sister Lok Wan again after two decades of separation.

Very well done. However, on a personal note I would have loved to see Kong Fung put in an appearance as well. Always wondered what happened to him.
