what is with these re-makes? Everyone knows the story...so what is the real point here? Sure, you could "edit" the plot...but that only goes so far. Meh, well I guess there must be audiences who love watching the same kinda stuff except w/ new faces, or else they wouldn't do this, but I definitely would rather see new stories.

Something new to me. I have never ever thought that crooked Zhang Ji Zhong would ever release the casting while he is filiming frantically ROCH.. LOL... I bet this information is rather not true...

On top of that, I agree with 999roses. I am reaaly getting sick and tired of this remakes. When I was young and tender, I wanted to watch all of those adaptions, but as I am getting older like 100 years old, I feel like JY is doing the sake of making more $$$ before he dies.. jeez.

have to say that i'm disappointed with the xiaobao nominations.
hopefully, they will choose someone else closer to age 14-16, or at least look childish enough to pass as a teen... and certainly non handsome , but scoundrel looking. so i would rule out the pretty boys in that list.

i'm actually looking forward to this jy adaptation ... china has traditionally been quite good in making historical productions.

I really liked Tony's portrayal of Wei Xiao Bao and it didn't bother me at all that he didn't look like a teenager. Jia Yi Ping would be my first choice because he reminds me of Tony and is a good actor too. He is very convincing in a 'lai zi' type of role. As for BJF, I just want to see more of him. Xu Zheng is like mainland China's version of Dicky Cheung. He even looks a lot like him in this pic. Xia Yu reminds me of Jordan Chan. He Ling looks too evil. Who is Zhang Wo Li? Do you mean Zhang Guo Li? Eric Suen...hmm...still trying to picture him with a half bald head.

i'm just hoping for a more realistic portrayal of xiao bao this time. alot of the situations in the book depended on him being very young, short and ugly (well, maybe more like scoundrel-looking) to make sense.

but thats just me, i guess most would like someone more photogenic.

Have u heard about the casting for Return of the Condor Heroes 2004 ? It's a big contest that included nearly 30 artists and it also took a long time to decide the main cast. Of course we don't know who will be WeiXiaoBao or other characters, i mean they're just NOMINATIONS. Maybe the nominations r given to promote that series even when it hasn't been started filmming yet.

I wanted to watch all of those adaptions, but as I am getting older like 100 years old, I feel like JY is doing the sake of making more $$$ before he dies.. jeez.

I respect JinYong for his talent, so don't say that way.
I've watched The Condor Heroes 2 times, The State Divinity 3 times, TianLongBaBu 2 times, and The Heaven Sword and the Dragon Sabre 7 or 8 times.... and I bet that I'll watch all his re-makes.
