I doubt Wang Qian is even being considered because they think she's "fit" for the role--probably just some kind of agreement w/ tvb or some other company to promote the Ms. MCI/beauty pageant etc. She obviously has NO acting experience and is going to suck big time. Great another Ms. Beauty Pageant pushed into the entertainment circle--where has I seen that before? *rolls eyes*

I don't think we'll have to worry too much. ZJZ productions have been accused of a lot of things such as taking too much liberty with the source material, shoddy music, etc., but you can't say the man doesn't have the best looking female cast in wuxia serials.

sorry but i think ZJZ is off his head this time with Wang Qian... she is seriously nowhere near even GOOD looking

i think these are more pics of Wang Qian... the more pics i see the more i think... NO Why can't Xu Qing, Jiang Xin, yang Mi, Yang Rui etc all be in this instead

Hi, I'm not THAT new, but I rarely post, but I just wanted to say tat as much as I like LYF, i really hope she doesn't get casted in domd06, since it would b way overexposure of her, and i don't want her uniqueness to fade away for me personally. she's already been in 2 JY novel adaptions, and I really want her to break away from adaption type films and do other types of genres.

Plus, when watching ROCH06 with LYF as XLN, everybody else jus looks...ugly...to me compared to LYF, and since the 7 wives r gonna be an important focus of DOMD, i really don't want LYF's character to overshadow the other 6 wives and make them look less than beautiful (which they are supposed to be). Just my 2 cents anyway.

Can't agree with you more here. Although I am not a fan of LYF, I think even from a fan's stand point too much of a good thing can be bad.

LYF just doesn't do it for me, but different strokes for different folks. As for overshadowing the other wives, from a purely physical standpoint, A Ke was the undisputed crown jewel in WXB's harem. So for fans of LYF, she would be the ideal fit for that role.


0-0-0, I can't help but gasp in admiration at your aesthetic acumen and truly hope that the actual casting director has but a half of it.

Considering both the difficulty and fun of casting WXB's seven wives, I sometimes wonder if any director would ever undertake the task of adapting Huang Yi's The Great Swordsman and his 20+ wives.

DAMN!!! I hope this will be a good one, this novel is so awesome. Personally i will say this is the more favourable novel of Jin Yong. Currently Reading the Viet version of this online. 248 chaps, i am at 110, soooooooooo good.

I dont really mind about who will be casting as main actor and actresses, i just hope they really can bring out the most of the characters in the story. I've seen most of the versions but even though over all all the versions are very good, but according to the novel, the characters are much more than that. Who have read the book would know why i am saying this.

Great Story, tottally sumthing i am looking forward for.

It seems that ZJZ has his eye on Sun Fei Fei to play Princess Jianning and the latter has expressed interest in the role, but there's no confirmation yet. Crazylife, you would be delighted won't you, first YM, now SFF.. except that LYF is not taking part in this prodcution.

I know it's quite impossible since ZJZ hardly uses taiwanese actresses in his series but i would like to see Ady An in here as well.

Im not sure, these are just recent speculations, ZJZ hasnt confirmed or rather, hasnt announced who will play who yet, though it is said that he will give the role of Ah Ke to a newcomer. SFF says that she likes the princess Jianning character best, as for YM, i hope she gets selected for Shuang'er, i think she would fit the role well.

BTW, for those of you who feel that Wang Qian is not pretty enough for Ah Ke, fret not, because she wont be playing the role anymore i think. Apparently, ZJZ is holding a nationwide contest for newcomers who can are beautiful and can act, the winner will get the role of Ah Ke and it seems like it's down to the final 6 girls now, and Wang Qian has been eliminated already (guess speculations on her not being to act is true).

Seems like one of the hot faves is a new actress callled Xu Xi Yan. ZJZ thinks she's pretty and suitable for Ah Ke and she does have some acting experience (she has done some serials before and recently starred as Zhang Ziyi's maid in the movie "Banquet").
