Remakes are cool sometimes but they are totally over doing it with Jing Yong remakes.
lol made up series are hardly interesting.
i would watch every remake of JY's work =]. or any adaptations from other author's works.

A little info on the new DOMD.

ZJZ expressed that preparations for the series has already started and the 1st half of the script is already completed. However, the most fustrating part for him is finding the right actor for the role of WXB. He is thinking of using 2 actors for the younger and older version of WXB, since he feels it's a very heavy role for any one actor. It is only after confirming the actor(s) for WXB then will he start the casting for the 7wives to suit the actor.

PS: there were speculations abt ZJZ being interested with casting Jay Chou as WXB, but thank god he changed his mind cause he thought the latter is too old for the role (plus he can't act for nuts..)

from wat i know of the novel i doubt if they would use big name actress for the seven wives...they barely appear, just snatches here and there...the one that appears the most i think is Song Nhi, the little servent girl besides WXB.

but then again since its such a small role the famed ones are willing to guest appear.

Wait let me get this straight...

ZJZ's main reservation was Jay Chou's age? Silly me, I thought there were other more glaring faults...

It was the Golden Horse Awards of all things. It was obviously the popularity of the show and role which got him the award. IMO, what he did in Initial D wasn't acting..it was just being his normal sulky self and constantly staring expressionlessly into space. The ultimate agony for me was watching him 'cry'...he is just riding on the successful waves of his music career and hoping it contnues flowing into the acting industry. And the lastest is that even the acclaimed chinese director Zhang Yi Mou has offered him a swordsmen role in his latest movie together with veterans like Gong Li who will probably put Jay Chou to shame

Well, i guess there are always intense pressures on even good directors to cast ppl like him in their shows just for the pure sake of gaining audienceship..

I can understand their reasons for casting him in a pop idol movie like Initial D but ancient wuxia shows?? I for one cannot even start to imagine how he'll look like in ancient wear, fighting scenes, let alone how he'll 'act'..maybe the role he got in Zhang Yimou's movie is the typical aloof and cold hero but WXB is definitely one role i cannot see Jay Chou in.

WHo are the candidates for WXB? I heard that some people wanted Jia Yi Ping to play that role, but I am not sure... Jay ZHou?? Are you kidding me?? IS this the same Jay Zhou that is a singer??? He is a great singer, but not sure about his acting....
Respect other people's opinions and views. If we learn how to do that than all of these fights and arguments will not occur.
