Hey, I accidentally bought a PAL format instead of NTSC. Can I play it one Sony dvd player: I know you get B&W video. Is there some way to change the settings? Will it work normally on the computer? I am too lazy to return it cause they charge you the shipping for it. Help.

I used to be a big fan of HK movies but they suck so bad these days, luckily Korean movies saved the day and the face of Asian film industry.

Just bought these movies last week and watched them all.

C'est La Vie, Mon Cherie (1993) by Anita Yuen and Sean Lau. It started out okay but Anita's character didn't turn out to be that strong. She slept with him on their date and the ending was abrupt. What did the last screen say with all those characters (sorry I can only make out half of the characters cause the transfer was so bad). It had me hanging to what happen to Sean. Anyone know? Rating 3.5/5. Cry factor 2/5

Ditto: Just watched it (Korean). Overall 4/5. Cry Factor: 4/5. I didn't like the girlfriend who drunk all the time. Good story. They did a poor job of aging the main character to the present timelater on.

Sky Lover: Weird movie with weird ending and very quiet movie since all the characters are disabled. Th synopsis that they have on the DVD is weird too--it actually discourages the viewers to not buy the DVD because it has no flame and no story, "flimsy movie" 3/5. Cry Factor: 1/5

Lavender: More of a comedy but no laughs and didnt like Takeshi Kaneshiro--looked really skinny in this movie. The tears were forced to be symbolic. The ending sorta redeemed it except for the love scene. Too many random events. Overall 3.5/5. Cry Factor 1/5

Any more suggestions? Oh and my question about PAL disc. I accidentally bought a PAL format instead of NTSC. Can I play it one Sony dvd player: I know you get B&W video. Is there some way to change the settings? Will it work normally on the computer? I am too lazy to return it cause they charge you the shipping for it. Help.

you can watch it on computer if you can't play PAL discs on your television set.

I am planning to buy these (not all sad or romantic). Give me some suggestiions and ratings.

White Dragon (Cecilia Cheung)--hopefully it is not full of slapstick humor and lame like Cat and Mouse.

Final Romance (Edison Chen)--looks predictable, but nothing else to buy

The King of Masks (really old)--looks like a learning movie.

Ashes of Time--got good recommendations on this, but how is the story and flow?

Center Stage--looks old too but I like the plot.

Ikiru--but an old guy is the lead.

Love and Let Love (Julian Cheung, THeresa Lee)--when was this made? any good?

Just Married (anita Yuen)--don't know if this movie is good or just a plain flimsy comedy

    Any other suggestions?

Why? Is White Dragon lame like Cat & Mouse.
I think the only movies that I liked Cecilia Cheung in were Fly Me to Polaris (so sad) and The Legend of the Zu (she looked so cool with her moon orb)
