maybe hes afraid that mei jue will send an army of angry nuns upon him. n with regards to zhang wuji, hes a genius when it comes to understanding n learning kung fu theories, actual fighting wise, he sucks. poor natural fighting instinct, no aggresion, and overly compassionate. the only main character who sucks in fighting more than him is duan yu.

Yes. Make no mistake: Cheung Mo Gei can fight and win against the best of them, but he's not a fighter by nature. He's not the same kind of hero as Kiu Fung, Gwok Jing, or Yeung Gor although he isn't necessarily their inferior in terms of skill or power.

which also happened to be the only way he could win. if he didnt imitate the dragon claw, no way in hell he can win. + he'll be in deep shit if zhiruo hadnt helped him out when he fought the kunlun n huashan guys. zhiruo is more talented that him in this aspect

he only won cus he has superiour techniques n way superior inner energy. its got nothing to do with his talent. qiaofeng using basic founders fist can own his *** anytime

Winning is winning and losing is losing. We can debate "talent" all day and night, but at the end, what matters is who wins the fight. Cheung Mo Gei didn't need to defeat Kiu Fung, who was comfortably dead in his grave some 200+ years already. He just needed to defeat those people invading Gwong Ming Peak, and he was able to do that.

Zhang Wuji was every bit the same kind of hero Guo Jing, Xiao Feng and (perhaps) Yang Guo was. He, like them all, had the good of the common man in mind always.

arent we talking abt how good a fighter zhang wuji was? of course he won. and he did so fair and square. but theres a difference between winning a fighter with inferior skills and inner energy and beating one with superior skills and inner energy. apart from zhang sanfeng and yang jie jie, there wasnt really anyone individually at that time who could match zhang wuji's level of inner energy and skill. so its no surprise that he won.(the 3 sitting monks dont count, cus they were only powerful in a formation, which they could kill zhang wuji if they wanted to) they did however give him quite abit of trouble, which shouldnt be happening cus zhang wuji was more powerful inner energy n technique wise. so its probably due to his poor fighting talent which hinders him, and being a overly nice guy

nah zhang wuji was way way nicer than any of them. unlike zhang wuji, none of them could overcome their thirst for revenge. guo jing wanted to kill huang yaosi, qiaofeng basically beat up anyone who pissed him off. and yang guo wanted to kill guo jing at one time. zhang wuji was a pacifist and disliked violence, and would only fight if he had to, and even so, didnt want to hurt his opponents. yang guo was only nice to people he liked. zhang wuji was nice to everyone, even his "enemies". guo jing and qiaofeng are pretty nice guys normally but guo jing doesnt hesitate to kill if he has to defend his country. qiaofeng become bloodthirsty when hes in bezerk mode.

I agree. He doesn't compare poorly to any of them in character or heroic spirit (in some ways, he was better because he was more humane than the others...even more than Gwok Jing). His greatest strength, however, is also his greatest weakness because there are times in a wulin hero's life when he needs to be aggressive, and Cheung Mo Gei was a little short on aggression. It does him credit as a human being, but it's also sometimes a liability in his chosen career.

I wonder when he was fighting at the Ming Peak, what kind of superior skills do ZWJ have over his opponents?

It is stated by Jin Yong that the martial art of the central plain were much more refine than those of Xi Yu. It also stated that if the Kun Lun and Hua Shan people were to be able to grab the true essence of their skill, ZWJ with his QKDNY wouldn't be able to stand a chances. Their skill were superior ZWJ. ZZR was able to understand the formation because she know Yi Jing, while ZWJ doesn't. So does ZZR have better talent or knowledge? Against MJ, he knows nothing of sword techniques, so all he does is mainly dodge.

I am not trying to say he is a good fighter because he isn't.

OK so we've gone from ZSF to ZWJ

Before the battle of Brightness Peak started, ZWJ knew almost zero technique. He had plenty of inner energy and tricks but no good palm or fist or claw technique (external ones). All he knew was the 36 Wudang Long Fists his dad taught him when he was 10 and many textbook ones Xie Xun made him learn by heart when he was a little boy. Technique-wise, the top fighters on Brightness Peak would easily kick his arse. However, upon seeing a few moves from the Shaolin monk, he immediately knew that he would easily be able to kill him, but how to subdue him so that Shaolin would respect him and go home is an incredibly difficult task. If ZWJ used basic Wudang techniques to kill the monk then Shaolin would not only be pissed off with him (because he was being arrogant maybe) but it would create further conflicts between Shaolin and Wudang. After ZWJ learnt the Dragon Claws and defeated the monk, he told the crowd that if he didn't use the Shaolin claws, no other technique would defeat their "Divine" monk. That saved Shaolin their faces and they didn't dare to challenge him anymore.

Remember that that battle is not about kicking people's arses. It's about uniting the two sides who were at war. XF using the Emperor's Long Fists to biatch-slap everyone would only cause more problems.

Btw Ken, Xuan Ming elder He wasn't scared of Mie Jue, he was scared of Fan Yao throwing his martial brother down the tower so he was reluctant to get engaged in a battle with Mie Jue right then. It was said that if it were in a normal circumstance, he would immediately go up there and challenge the Er Mei school leader without the need for an "invitation".
