GST for renci donation

I wonder if you guys notice the small prints. For donations to Renci you will have to pay 21 cents for admin fee. 5% gst will be charged. The strange thing is that we are not buying anything, why is there gst?

ha is like that all donator have to bared the 5% GST eh so far i called to donate i also have to pay no choice cause this is a law where those goverment wanna to eatn some money from the goods and service tax haha every country is like that so can't be blame.

No you don't get what I mean. I am not asking you guys not to donate.
Rather, i am surprised that for donations, you still have to pay GST.

You only pay 5% GST if it is for services. What service are we talking about. Can someone justify?

Hmm... good question.
The service that Singtel is rendering perhaps? Afterall they have to open quite a number of phone lines for the people to call in. And since they are being paid for their service (there's some kind of admin charge), they to pay the government money for earning money.
