Default Il Mare Hollywood Remake (guess who's gonna star?)

RT-News writes: "Keanu Reeves and Sandra Bullock will star in "Il Mare," a Warner Brothers romantic drama, to be directed by Alejandro Agresti, Variety reports. The film is a remake of a Korean film of the same name, and the script is by Pulitzer prizewinner David Auburn. Reeves stars in the forthcoming "Constantine"; Bullock stars in "Miss Congeniality 2.""

    Default Il Mare

I doubt the hollywood version would be as good as the original. One of the best thing about the korean version is the music.

    Keanu Reeves.... *falls off chair*

Would it really make a difference since they are suppose to be having a romance with a plank of wood?

Having a cooler chick might make the whole thing more palatable.

I won't mind if Monica Belluci's in it.

And I wouldn't mind if Jeon Ji Hyun was in it. But Keanu would still ruin it.

I wouldn't count on it as a trend though.

Default too old and weary looking

hi! one of my favorite korean movies of all times is 'il mare'. maybe because of the dearth and shallowness of hollywood they're making more and more remakes. to have keannu reeves and sandra bullock star in 'il mare' speaks of poor choice of casting. don't you think they're too old and tired looking for the roles? they should have gotten younger and fresher looking actors for the lead roles.

You know what? It's more likely for the Asians to run out of ideas first before Hollywood does. Seriously, this is starting to get into my nerves? Whenever HK, Korean or the Japanese rip off their ideas from Hollywood, people think that it's fine, nothing much. Blah blah. But when Hollywood wants to do a remake of an Asian film, BABOOM, it's Hollywood 'RUNNING OUT OF IDEAS'.

Sheesh, this is a forum for Asian TV series and movies, and naturally, most people here are Asians, or pro-Asian people. But things are getting ridiculous here.

Then don't watch the remake. It's a quite simple solution actually.

In that case you probably shouldn't complain if it turns out you didn't like the remake. Nobody forced you to watch it, and even if it did suck, just ignore it and pretend it never existed.

hey i'm asian and i know this site is for asian films, but just because of that, you shouldn't be racist ya no! i love chinese/korean films but that doesn't mean i don't like american tv. acting this way is just slack for those asians who like american films.
