Just want to 'give life to' this thread again. I've recently been re-watching Ghost Husband and getting all appreciative of the talents of Yue Ling again. Also, she's in a recent series (released 2005/2006) Mute Bride, so she's still actively in the limelight. Though not as 'fresh and young' as the likes of 2 Bing Bings, LYF, Ruby Lin, etc, Yue Ling can still give such emotionally charged performances like in Mute Bride. I honestly say I've never seen her in modern drama (except for her cameo appearance in Super School with Alyssia Chia).

Just looking back at some clips of hers, I thought she was beautiful in Xin Yue Ge Ge. Though I didn't like her role in it that much, she suits the Manuchurian costume very well. I used to think Ruby Lin's HZGG look cannot be topped, but I think Yue Ling's Xin Yue is even more classically beautiful. Just an interesting tit bit, the lady's casual costume worn by the daughter of the household Xin Yue was living in is EXACTLY the same costume that Ruby Lin/Zi Wei wore in HZGG II when she had just hit her head and became blind.

Can't get enough of Ghost Husband though...it's so psychologically warped...makes my mind spin...in a good way

I first saw Yue Ling in Ghost Husband with Li Zhi Zi and I love them both from there. To me, they make a perfect couple and there is so much chemistry between them. Just wish that they can be in another production together but I don't think he act anymore though.

Ghost Husband is definitely YueLing's best there and also my top Qing Yao favorite. and I really date Princess Xin Yue. Yueling character was bad and the lead male costar is HORRIBLE . I hated that actor and they storyline was it for me, I give up the series and didn't even bother to see it.

anyway, I have been watching the Ghost Husband and what can I say, I'm in the mood for more of that. The drama is truly Priceless!!

I watched the drama the mute bride like twice already but I still can't help the sad sympathy for the characters. I hav 2 say she's one of the best actresses in Asia. She realli knos how 2 giv it all.

U must watch Heavenly sword and chevaliers. I'm watching this series and it's so good. Shao Feng is dazzling cool here. He paired as Yue Ling's on screen lover. I just every part that featured them both.

This series was released in 2004 and it's so much better than mute bride. Yue Ling is spotted with nice hairdo and Shao feng is so hot here.

Yue Ling is such an great actress. my mother borrowed The Mute Bride and i´ve only seen some scenes but i already love her. she has a great chemistry with William Xie. Despite their ages they still look very pretty/handsome.
i just can´t imagine they were ex-lovers. I always had the felling that Yue Ling still loves William in real-life.

I´m going to watch the whole series now

I didn't think much of Yue Ling from her pics, but her acting is absolutely amazing. Her crying is definitely among the best I've seen...genuine, touching, but not overly dramatic. She and William complement one another perfectly in The Mute Bride. I think one of the reasons is because they used to be lovers in real life, so their ability to understand one another transcends many other onscreen couples. I can imagine how challenging filming must have been communicating with a mute character and of course playing the mute character.

I'm very interested in watching more of Yue Ling's works, especially Ghost Husband.

Oh... U haven't seen much of Yue Ling yet. Try and look for her in Ghost Husband or Qing Qing He Bian Cao. She was absolutely spellbinding there particularly in Ghost Husband. She really knows how to act. In fact if you can, try to get "Hua Lo Hua Kai". She was nominated as the best actress for her role in this series.

As for the old news re her breaking up with Xie Zu Wu. Well this guy is a playboy and he two-timing her. Other source was that he couldn't cope with Yue Ling's meteoric rise of fame.... Not sure which one is true.

There is no denying of YL's talents. Whenever she takes on a role, she embodies that character. There is no "acting" in any of the characters she had portrayed. This rare and pure talent is something I have not seen from any other actresses.
