A new english drama by Mediacorp starring Flora Chan and Mimi Choo.

Didn't know Mediacorp was shooting this till they started showing the trailer today. A pleasant surprise.

This show is good. But it's too short! 30 mins is too short for a drama. It may be enought for a sitcom or dramady, but for drama it's just too short. Alot of things within this episode could have been expanded further.

    Anyway, here's some promo screencaps.

No, Flora does not look like that in the show. It's just from some promotional short clip that aired just before the show.

Yes, this show is not bad. Has the potential to be one of the best English local show.

I was switching between Changing Lanes and this show for 30 mins.

Hey guys, thought I was the only SPCnet member who watches this. It ain't bad at all, a refreshing change from the usual Ch 5 dramas. Hehe. I liked the first ep. In fact, I was bewildered by the scene in which the fostered kid stumbles upon his ma having an affair and his ma is stabbed 39 times I believe by her enraged husband.

"Like My Own" opens our eyes to the very dark side of a fostered kid's life. Has potential. Hehe.

    Episode 4 preview

This episode has Mabel tasked to take away the child from the mother. You see, the mother was born with down syndrome.... She also has another older child, he too has down syndrome. Is a person born with down syndrome capable of raising children on their own?

Kudos to the production for the courage to tackle such a controversial theme. :

that's not entirely correct, Flora *can* speak mando. I saw her interview in shanghai for a commercial. Her mandarin has improved alot and she could converse easily with the program hosts.

looking forward to seeing her in mainland china productions soon
