Exactly...but for YQ, he has mixed feeling of happy and sad. Happy because he reunited with XLN and they are leaving Loveless Valley (if I remembered correctly this part where YQ kiss XLN for the first time)...sad because he was poisoned and about to go to kill his beloved uncle.

I don't think he feels sad for going to kill his Uncle... yet. If I remember the book corectly... I think he doesn't feel sad or do anything until he realizes what a patriotic man Guo Jing is

I think so too. I also remember Yang Guo wore blue costume when he enters Loveless Valley. I'm sure this is before that.

    Talking MP3 of Theme Song

Ripped off the media clip by fan. So it's not the whole song and there is some background noise.

Talking Media Clip - Comparison b/t TVB '80s and '90s versus Latest

They've included TLBB, LOCH, ROCH, etc...Past and Present Adaptation. They also included an old series that isn't wuxia.

I'm not sure about the inclusion of Feng Wan/Wind Cloud since it doesn't feel like wuxia. Besides I really didn't like it. Especially Part II. Eeewww!!! It was a soap opera on steroids. It was like musical beds....Amnesia...forget about wife...have new family...remember...old wife might be getting it on with someone else...etc. Anyway, that is just my opinion and preference.

Thanks for the clips assasin! The theme song "jiang hu xiao" is nice but i still like the theme for LOCH better, which packs a punch and has that wuxia feel to it. The theme for ROCH sounds like the typical nice ancient costume kinda song, it doesn't really stand out in any unique way to set the mood for a high profile wuxia series. But well, they might add extra effects, background instruments like drums etc. so it might sound more exciting later.

I so agree with you Sunnysnow! LOCH's theme really had the Wu Xia feel and sounded so powerful!

Possible for anyone to upload the LOCH theme so that those who have not heard it before can get a feel of it?

    Cool Pirate HDVD!!!! News...

There is a new media on the block, HDVD! High-Definition DVD. It hit the Chinese market last year. After solving the interface problem, it can now be played on normal DVD players versus just computer before.

It is capable of better picture than DVDs and due to the compression technology, more can be crammed on it. The pirates love it. They can cram 4 feature films or 10 drama episodes on a disc. They pose as a serious threat to the Chinese movie and drama industry. The lost of profit is huge. China is doing a serious crackdown on HDVD piracy. There's a first for anything I suppose.

The biggest complaint from those buying the pirated HDVD is the shoddy quality of the images. The pirates crammed too much...a lot of pixelation and mosaics. But supposedly the price makes up for it for their customers.

I think one of the reasons some people buy pirated here in the USA is the issue of availability and the prices of some of the legal copies. I'm willing to spend money on a series I like. At most though, up to $100 for a legal copy of a series that is at least 40 episodes period/wuxia drama. I am unwilling to shell out $100 for a 16 or 20 episode K-drama. One season of Buffy or any tv show usually runs under $40 and a lot of times $30. True they're usually 12-13 episodes but they pay their people a lot more. They even have special effects and elaborate costumes and masks. So to me, $100.00 for a 20 episode modern drama where they pay maybe 4 principals less than you pay American tv stars is outright robbery. But so far I have only seen some of these outrageous prices on Yesasia. The other factor and the biggest one is availability. You have to buy direct from China if you want some of these series right away. Yesasia takes a month or more from when it is released in China. I checked when TLBB came out. I think for that one, it was maybe 3 months or did it only seem that long?

Of course, the prices aren't so bad at most Chinese DVD/VCD shops. Though it is hard to tell if you're paying legal prices for illegal copies. I don't like illegal copies because I feel the quality sucks thought I'm told it depends. Since most pirating is fly by night, it's hard to keep track of the quality piraters. I've had legal copies suck too. I know they're legal b/c I brought them from the blood sucking Yesasia. For those prices they better be legal! But that's rarer. It usually is TVB's Golden '80s series. Bootleggers actually have better and more complete versions of LOCH '82 and ROCH '83 than the official versions. But I still go for legal. SO far with the newer stuff, there hasn't been a problem. Taiwan though seems to have an issue with quality control.

Good news, I hear rumours that they may have moved ROCH's release date up to Jan 18, 2005. It was grouped with some other series in an article about HDVD piracy.

Oh my god! The whole ROCH book is about 100 chapters! And who the heck are the people in the beginning. I think I only see one name that ties in with the rest of the book. If it wasn't for the title on every single page, I would think I'm reading a different book!

the ROCH book's 40 chapters... i just finished reading it, and the people in the beginning of the book are all important throughout the book, and they do play integrative parts in the story

Yeah... Don't worry that bit confused me too, but it wasn't until I got until like... chapter 8 & up that I realized who the characters were. *cough* Cheng *cough* Ying *cough* and *cough* Lu *cough* Wu *cough* Shuang *cough, cough*
(I apologize for all the cough things, but in case you didn't want to know who they were I decided to do that. It's harder to read them that way)

The fight scenes are amazing. ROCH is the best looking Chinese series ever. The CGs are spectacular!!! They aren't cheesy at all.

If the release date is on the 18th of Jan, when is the DVD going to be release?

It's all rumours. Most likely it will air as schelduled, on Chinese New Year, Jan 29, 2006. The DVD/VCD should be simlutanously released w/ the airing of the first episode. Otherwise I'm getting mine anyway I can. I'm not waiting another minute once it starts airing. So if they want me to shell out the big bucks, they better sale it immediately. I've been waiting for this since they started filming LOCH.

Watch out for more goodies! I'll release them until they start airing the series or I run out of material. Something to nibble on until the main course. I might repeat since I sorta lose track of what I posted. Perhaps the addicts should stay away since all the teasers might drive them off the deep end.
