Default Which wuxia hero enjoyed his work most?

Most wuxia heroes were somewhat reluctant heroes: they were not reluctant to help people and fight for justice, but they were usually reluctant to make a lifelong career of beating people up (even if those people were evil and deserved to be punished). Even the most valiant wuxia heroes would have preferred to settle down to more peaceful, quiet lives if not for the fact that their abilities were needed to protect the innocent and uphold justice.

That being said, which wuxia heroes clearly enjoyed what they did, and made a career out of it not only because it was the right thing to do, but also because they derived pleasure from doing it?

Not quite sure Wong Chongyang really was into his line of work. He retreated into his Living Dead People Tomb for a pretty long time to get away from it all.

Hong Qigong, although a capable leader, didn't really like leading the Beggar Union and usually wandered off to find good eats and do random mischief like teaching random youngsters profound martial arts.

Wei Xiaobao was just clearly not a hero ...

If anyone, I'd have to say Guo Jing. He literally spent the latter part of his life defending China living the life of a wuxia hero without regret.

Without regret, but also without any real relish either. If China were at peace and no menaces threatened wulin, Gwok Jing probably would have settled for being a farmer. He wasn't looking for adventure; adventure found him.

It's hard to find this kind of hero among the Jin Yong characters. In Gu Long's world, it's a bit easier: Luk Siu Fung and Chor Lau Heung seemed to do it largely for pleasure as well as for justice and/or friendship. Fa Mun Lau, in fact, told Luk Siu Fung that he chose to participate in the Golden Roc Kingdom's treasure hunt because he was feeling bored and wanted something challenging and adventurous to do.

I think Xiao Feng enjoyed his work the most before his real lineage was revealed and the Han people started doubting him.

He certainly enjoyed the camaraderie. Kiu Fung was a guy who could singlehandedly defeat much of the wulin himself, but from what I've been told, he enjoyed working together with his brother beggars because he liked being part of a team. For all his tremendous skill, he was a good team player.

Although not the main character (or even hero in the traditional sense), I'd consider the character in your avatar--Sai Mun Chui Sheut to be one. Although he certainly didn't do things based on what others considered to be the 'right thing' to do, but did what he wanted to do.
