Yup…the little JG…she’s akin my big big fun, I was overjoyed every time I saw her.Originally Posted by kacheek

You guys remember in the competition to select the little palace maid, she strive for the chance to sit for the exam. Yes, she did it, after had to stand n carry the water for 8 hrs long. Shes been so resoluted in her thought, even at the younger age. >>RESPECT>>... Then, lady pak request her to list all ranks n classes of the imperial womenfolks (is this the Q??? hmmmm…I think so) she asks got to list all? ^-^ she indeed amused me here
….take a deep breathe after replying of the lady pak, then answering in a very precisely manner, surprising every sang gong there.
To my great amusement, JG’s daughter was getting caned by JG, same as the little JG to be caned by meng yee. Both presence of the child stars lighten up the show

lil JG take a deep breath as tho she find the question is too tough for her to answer. haha. then she gave her answer in 1 breath. that gave all the ladies a great shock.Originally Posted by honey_girl
i remembered tat... quite hilarious for a young kid like her to surprise all the ladies there although she were suspended from class room lessons. she has great determination to be the palace maid. wow. as wat u said honey_girl = "RESPECT"

yeah.. I loved their scenes too.. everytime they were together.. and there's snow.. I kept wondering.. hmmm when is the scene where MJH carries JG gonna happen?? Lol.
hey everyone.. does any photos with changjin and min zhenghao together.. i think they are the most ultimate couple.. their love for each other are so endearing and touching... the way she smiles to him and he smiles sweetly back to her... i think there was one part when she was a medical woman and the king went blind and sir min stood by her and even got put in jail by the queen and when he was finally let go he went on talking about how he should not have stood by her and put her in such great danger then they both cried and embraced into each other's arms..
so touching...aw...![]()

SPOILER WARNING
- why did madam choi "commit suicide" when she initially intended to save her apprentice? or was it really an accident? :P
- why were the court officials and ministers so delighted and forgiving when she returned to the palace at the last ep? that puzzled me.
- was the rule of the two kings while JG was away in exile that short? cos most of the people didn't seem to age much lol

I think madam choi committed suicide. probably tired of life. from start to finish, she was just a pawn in the battle to uphold her family legacy. by committing suicide, she could finally make a choice of her own. even if she didn't let go, she wouldn't have survived anyway, there's no one to save her!
I'm also puzzled about how welcoming all the court officials were when min jungho and janggeum returned to the palace. It just seemed really hypocritical of them, after they worked so hard to put the both of them down, and even exiled min jungho.
yup. if u rem, the crown prince had always been ill, therefore he died young. some sceptics have argued that maybe the empress had a hand in speeding up his death, but we don't know for sure.

hey! well, since the characters in the show do not seem to age very much or look different after long periods of time.. i was wondering if anyone knew what was the exact difference in age between chang geum and min jungho.... and how much older is jinying than chang geum? as we know, jinying already had a crush on min jungho when she was very young so does that make the age difference between chang geum and min jungho even larger??? can anyone please enlighten me on that.. thanks..

jang geum was 10 when she first entered the palace. it's said that sir min was 16 when he won praise from the emperor. so they have a 6 year difference. my guess is jinying is about 2 or 3 years older than jang geum?Originally Posted by tellywelly

I'm also a k-drama addictus (if there's such a term)...![]()
I think I've watched almost 25 dramas but jewel definitely tops my list...
When I watched lovers in paris, I though it's the best drama ever.
I really enjoyed it to the extent of watching it over & over for 2 weeks..
But when I got my hand on jewel, my standard for korean drama changed. But still, lovers is in my heart, holding the 2nd spot.![]()
I'm sure you also have your own little story to tell about k-drams...![]()
enough of my sharing, do you guys know where I can download the NG's of djg?
please...
Hullo people, how old was Jang Geum when the King died? She was 10 when she met him and my guess is that he was twenty something. So if he died at 60 or 70 (when kings die), she must be almost 50 when she finally got together with Sir Ming. Yes ?No?The ages really confused me because they all looked about the same age.
Bella
Let'a take it as Changjin is 10 then MinZhenghao will be about 16, Jinying will be 13, and the king will be about 21. so if we calculated the years, i think the king died pretty young maybe around 50+, so that makes changjin approximately 39 when she and minzhenghao left the palace to lead their own lives... so minzhenghao would be about 45 when he married her...(wow! they got married pretty late)if it was 8 years later then they returned to the palace they would have been 47 and 53 respectively...and their kid would be 7+. that would make everyone around them pretty old considering the age gap...![]()
this is how it would look like if we worked the age thing backwards>>>
Early Days
Changjin 10
Min Zhenghao 16
King 21
After they returned back to the palace with their daughter, we saw Changjin's step parents still alive, so we can be quite definite they are about 70+ so that will make changjin about 40 and minzhenghao 46 and their daughter 8+..then we can say the king died when he was 43+(wow that's young)
i think the king must have died very young in order for changjin and minzhenghao to get married and actually have kids... if not they would be too old... and since the Queen and all the others look the same it shows that the king died prematurely...
well that's my other theory...![]()
The King was grey-looking at the end. Caused by sickness? May be. That gap between the time Sir Min went away and the King's death is ???. If this is Hollywood stuff, we will get JITHP two and more explanations. Do Korean TVs do that? parts 1,2 ..... etc?
Bella
i'm so addicted to this show now, but the plot seems to move very slow. i hate how everyone in the palace is sooo jealous of her and wants her gone!
