    Default The real DJG

According to another website, there was a lot of 'modifications' in that show. For eg. MJH never met DJG, Lady Cui was even more evil since she forced DJG to become the King's concubine. Nevermind, it's a TV show, it should leave us viewers feeling good, which is why I do not watch all the American reality shows. Except for Extreme makeovers sometimes.

[QUOTE=ghostdarTeal'c]im sure there is, remember the doctor who died after treating the SARS patient in China? female doctor right? i heard the China gov wanted to make a movie about her, but never heard anything else after that...

yeah i heard about her...she has been our topic once in the hospital where im practicing now...

but since then i dont heard anything about her too. I hope Chinese gov't will be able to give recognition on what she'd risked for..

Thank you so much!.. Just seeing my patients smile is enough for me to feel complete.. I hope i could touch many lives in my own simple way..

Dae jang-geum was heaven sent to all the people on her time and a role model for the following generations...

Depends on what you want. I like happy Cinderella series ( serious is OK, but not depressing) so I definitely won't watch 50 CDs of DJG if the good guys lose. Some people think reality is important. I 'm really curious about her recorded history. It's still wonderful for anyone to make it as the King's physician, nevermind male or female. Just can't find the source.

yeah!..my curiosity also keeps on searching something : confused:
    ..hehehe

wow!..she's superb!...risking her own life is i think the biggest sacrifice a doctor can ever give/render for the sake of her patient's health and life... in that case she deserves to be called a heroine..

Really? Some names seemed very similar to me. It makes sense to force her niece. But they'll need to get a younger actress if there's going to be a remake.

I found a website that has excerpts of the Joseon annals in which DJG's name was mentioned.... all five of them. No wonder they could develop any storyline about her. There's hardly anything there.

Now I'm curious if MJH really existed.

Min Jung-ho never existed. The real Jang-geum didnt even get married i think...it's been a long time i last researched about her....Good thing they inserted his character....their relationship is so....i dont know ...pure! im thinking of rewatching the series....i just watched Lee Young-Ae's Sympathy for Lady Vengeance...it's a very interesting story..rather twisted and sick for the faint-hearted though...a total opposite of Dae Jang-geum...she amazed me in the movie, she's truly a talented woman....

    Default Just as well

I am glad they added in MJH, of course, he was larger than life...but why not? The series would be dead (any show for that matter) without the love card.

Now what woman would'nt want a man who unconditionally loves her, supports her through thick and thin... and OMG willing to die for her... Aiyaaa...

I am watching Lawyers now and the hero is almost like MJH.. he's willing to risk life and limb to find the truth the woman wants.. morally upright, good at his job. though must say he's much better looking .

too bad modern series is not my cup of tea...too sappy, too draggy, and most importantly, not enough action...

    Default jewel in the palace

it's really sad that jewel in the palace will soon end.
it is really a fantastic tv series.
i would like to congratulate all the casts for their good performances.
and of course, the director, too. this is a korean series worth watching.
my favorite character of course is jang geum. she's very pretty.
also very pretty is the actress who played the king's other wife, the friend of jang geum. i just don't know her name. could somebody please tell me. i really find her very pretty and sweet. another pretty lady is lady han. she came to visit the philippines some months ago.
about the actors: both the king and the captain are good looking.
well, it's really hard to say goodbye to a nice tv program.
    sincerely, pure

    Default Yong Seng

I believe the character was Yong Seng, not the Queen.

GhostD... you should try watching Lawyers, it's sappy, draggy, love triangles, bad hairdo and drunken scenes as usual, but it is also different and the cast are goodlooking I thought it's almost the best Korean series..... Dae Jang Geum is still the best to me. One feels good after watching it.

Oh yes, sorry bout that. Guess i read too fast...LOL, anyway, Yong Seng is played by Park Eun-hye. I agree that she is pretty....the way she tried to impress The King was cute!

I am watching Lawyers, since in my place i cant get anything other than 8tv, but i seriously think that it got no attraction...i mean, i cant get myself focussed to one scene...always get distracted by other things like duh, changing the channel...LOL...even its obvious i cant get anything else unless i install Astro..LOL...i guess im just not insterested with modern korean series....im more into colourful costume and all...haha...

    Default Sad?

One can always buy the JITP DVDs, either the whole 3 volumes or one at a time. I keep my favourite series and movies so that I can watch 'em when I'm sad. ... e.g Baby's day out, last episode of JITHP, Green Rose...

No need to feel sad.... Think how sad you would be to have only one TV channel to watch ....
