(ENDING SPOILER: Read at your own risk)

The Ending was just sad....and disapointing. How Ma Siu Ling died (or fainted) in Tin Yau's arms. And how Kenneth (Never Penetrate or..something) died, holding the book after he sees Alice replace the earlier woman (forgot her name). This is sad...I hope there IS a Vampire IV, but honestly i doubt it since the WHOLE cast died. I really do hope there will be...This...no offense was probably the best series from ATV. Everytime i see that new tapes (In USA, you rent tapes to watch Asian series [TVB, ATV}) I run back home, get the borrow tapes and run back to get it. A little obsessed, but vampires are just my thing.

I got some questions considering the ending of Vamp III: (Excuse my cruddy chinese soundings) I would like some answers

    1. How did Ma Siu Ling die?! The only wound i see her take was a throw by a Fate infested Yu Chi (XD..the goddess). Was it the summoning of the dragon that killed her? I just dont understand.

    2. How did Tin Yau DIE?! He didnt take any hits...barely if not none, so how? And why dont Siu Ling and him just go to the mystical land..Wing Hun Qok Do (again excuse my soundings..try your best).

A sad ending with many deaths. I hope there is a Vampire 4 to compensate for this. Also i think they changed directors...i am not sure, but some scenes...are pretty corny. The plot downgraded a little bit, but i still liked it. Very emotional...I would enjoy some feedback!

When did Tin Yau die? I know 2 version of ending for this series, and none of them has Tin Yau dying. My version ended with Siu Ling in Tin Yau's embrace and the camera slowly rise up so that scene became smaller and smaller. Then the show ended. But Tin Yau didn't die in that version and Siu Ling's death was debatable. What gave u the idea that Tin Yau died?

The writing team use to be a 2 person team (chan 13 and another scripwriter). But this last installment is only written by Chan 13 alone.

I don't know where to buy in SG. Sorry. As far as I know this mandarin version is only available in China. However, Taiwan may have the Mandarin version as well.

Can you find the mandarin version online for purchase?

Siu Ling is only human. She was hurt fatally during that battle. Also summoning the dragon probably took her some extra effort that caused her to faint. She wasn't dead yet (in my version) at that point.

Did not die in my version as well.

Isn't it often that main characters die in MDWAV? The sky is the limit for MDWAV writers. They could revive any character anytime in MDWAV 4 by just teasing our minds with past, present and future or use reincarnation plot again. So, as Fong Tin Yao said to Ah Sao in MDWAV 1 "Death may not be a bad thing"

In my point, the basic MDWAV 3 storyline did not downgrade. But, the dialogues were not as clever as previous episodes and how the plot was conveyed through different scenes were not done in the best way. Don't let me go into that "power rangers" antics by Ma Siu Fu again.

The only complaint I have for this installment is lack of Fong Tin Yao and Ma Siu Ling scenes. Fong Tin Yao's screentime was too little when he was the obvious lead in MDWAV 1 and 2. It needed some getting used to in MDWAV 3 for me. It was a little difficult to watch a sequel to something but find so many new characters (Too many!). Too little time given to learn about them or get to know these characters to love/hate them. *** With the exception of Mr. Ma Siu Fu's storyline, dragged till the end of time and it was still not done with.

The storyline and acting that I loved the most for all these different stories within MDWAV 3 is probably- The SDU episodes when they were playing tag. I thought it was cleverly done, quick to the point, and good acting for such first-time actors.

Directors did change. The directors for MDWAV 3 are directors for Infernals Affair. I think I read that somewhere.

1 thing I miss the most in MDWAV3 is the 'different vampire has different power' law that was very apparent in MDWAV1 but diminished in MDWAV2 and totally missing in MDWAV3.

    MDWAV1

Tong Boon Jen Ng - Water vampire. He can pratically turn himself into water and go through walls.

San Boon Mei Loy - Fire vampire. All her attacks are fire based.

Jen Ng's partner - Metal vampire. He can produce metal chains with his hands to use as weapon.

San Boon 1 Fu - This I'm not sure, but I think this guy can shapeshift. I think I remember him changing from old San Boon 1 Fu to young San Boon 1 Fu in the blink of a eye.

Fong Tin Yau - This I'm also not sure. But I think it's superspeed.

Blue haired female vampire - I can't recall what special power she has but she did have a special power.

Only Fong Fook Sang don't have special power.

    MDWAV2

Fong Fook Sang - Illusionist vampire. He can not only make people in a big hall see Fong Tin Yau as Kam Mei Loy, even people who watch the beauty pageant contest on the TV saw the image of Mei Loy instead of Tin Yau.

Tong Boon Jen Ng - Dream vampire. He can enter people's dream and make people dream whatever he wants them to dream about. He can even turn some dreams into reality since Mei Loy got pregnant with Lei Lok after making love with him in her dreams.

    Fong Tin Yau - Superspeed.

Addition: Kam Mei Loy - Shooting energy blast from her finger like bullets.

These are the only 3 vampires with special powers. All the other vampires don't have speciall powers. The just have general powers like other vampires on their level.

    MDVAW3

None of the vampires has special powers unless u count Holy Mother Yiu Chi who has the ability to spread disease.

In MDWAV 2, Mei Loy also had developed special powers towards the end. She was shooting bullets using her bare hands? Vaguely remembering her shooting bottles on some building's open roof.

Those are bullets? I thought those are energy blasts and any other vampires her level can do that.

Anyway, Kam Mei Loy is a pretty lame vampire. She is suppose to be level 4 vampire which is pretty high up there. But her powers are so weak. She even mentioned this herself, she don't even know what special powers she has (i.e. she can't find any).

Energy blasts is probably a better description. But, I have not seen this power in any other vampires..that's why I thought it was unique to Mei Loy. She could not find powers initially but found her own strength after giving birth.

I wonder what the men in the Ma family feel about the position in the family.

They are not entitled to learn the Taoist skills of the Ma family. The skills are only passed down to their sisters. Their only worth is their ability to continue the family line. Won't they feel like 2nd class citizen in the family? They inherited the same genes as their sisters, the same Ma family blood flows in their bodies, but they aren't allowed to learn the family skills because of their gender.

On the other hand, their lives are freer than their sisters, since they don't have to shoulder the family responsibility of fighting vampires and ghosts. They can do anything the want except becoming monk or priest.

I wonder why they don't bear many girls of similar age and many boys of similar age so that they could have many many Ma skillful ghostbusters MA women and the MA men don't need to worry later of their responsibility. In the future, then they'll have a big chain of Ma ghostbuster producers as well as Ma ghostbusters!

Maybe it is another family curse. Remember in MDWAV2, Uncle Kau once said that every generation of Ma family has 1 boy and 1 girl? Only 1 boy and 1 girl in every generation. That can't be mere coincidence and genetic don't control how many children one can have.

Anyway, just wonder, if a Ma boy happen to be as talented as Mo Yau or Yau Kau, will the aunt still follow the family tradition and only pass the skills to the girl? That would be such a waste.

I vaguely remember that from Uncle Kao. Siu Ling shouldn't be surprised that she has a brother then when she met Ma Siu Fu. Also, she had never mentioned her "dead" brother before. How many curses did this Ma Ling Yi thought of in the span of minutes before her death? She needed to write the curse out with her blood, and think of such details as well- All women cannot cry for men, must catch ghosts, must target Cheung San, males in the family is responsible for continuing their Ma family line etc etc...And now, every generation of Ma family has a boy and girl? What anger and strength! She was already stabbed and bleeding!
She put these curses on her own family line which is just plain crazy. She should've cursed Fong Choong Tong's family line.

Actually what happened to the Mo family?

Mo Yao the only one left? Even Mo Yao died in the end...probably that's the end of Mo family line.

If MO boy is such a talent, he'll probably never find out because he won't be exposed to the skills since young.

wow, mdwav series did change alot in vampire history...

vam-pire: mythology bloodsucking evil spirit: in European folklore, a dead person believed to rise each night from the grave and suck blood from the living for sustenance

i thought vampires only sucked blood...not all this unkanny superpower stuff...

That's some predicament you are in. Here's MDWAV's chinese characters:

    我和僵尸有个约会

You could do a search for the file.

Those are boring....hehehehe...only blood and no power...

For Asian vampires, they were these stiff bodies (hence the name 僵 尸 for vampires) with hands extended at shoulder level and they do not walk. They merely jumped! And, they'll wear this costume from the ancient days for officials (fook sang acted as one in MDWAV 2 in the beginning). Stick the "foo" on their forehead, you could make them stop moving and they are harmless then. Another thing is when you don't breathe, they can't locate you too.

For Western vampires, it does have a romantic feel to it different from Asian vampires. Remembering Ann Rice's book, Interview with the Vampire, and then the movie by Brad Pitt and Tom Cruise...they were big chunky (or would you rather say hunky) men, beautiful, clean, just like human.

For MDWAV 1-2, I think it is a combination of when East meets West and then coupled with the writers' religious beliefs. Mr. Chan Sup Sam's love for comics also contributed to it of course. So, I am not surprised the super elements were included in these.

Siu Ling in Tin Yao's arms IN A CHURCH? Then, fook sang came running in but found only the Siu Ling's veil pn the floor?

Tin Yao did not die though...why did you ask if he died?
