You like Miu Kiu Wai, fine (no wonder you dislike Adam because I can't stand Miu Kiu Wai either). Don't even get me start on his bad looks and terrible acting skill in "The Hawk" (starred Adam, Angie, Idy) where he played a supporting role. May I ask how many series of Adam have you seen that comes to your conclusion he cannot act? And it's definitely a mystery that you haven't heard him singing because Adam sings ALL the themesongs to his TVB series. I thought you just saw "The Conqueror's Story?" LMAO first time someone says he/she doesn't like the way Adam looks. Does it matter? Then don't watch his series!!!!!

How do you explain that Adam's CLH stormed Taiwan and took over HK the image of his suave, debonair CLH for decades? To be frank, if you just ask someone on the street in HK, "Who is Chor Lau Heung?" They definitely or most likely will answer, "Cheng Siu Chow." Eh, even Gu Long himself was very satisfied with Adam's CLH. He even sighed, "Everyone only focus on Adam's CLH and careless about my novel." I respect that you like Miu Kiu Wai, but we like Adam and many other people also feel the same. I don't wanna compare but Adam's CLH is much more famous than MKW or whoever.

Thanks for your descriptions of MKW's CLH but no thanks since I already know very well how he supposed to look. CLH = Adam Cheng hands down. hahaha if you're interested, I can gather all different praises and comments on Adam's CLH from various reporters, writers, DJs and interviewers. since i don't live in hk, i can't walk down it's street and don't speak cantonese, so can't ask ppl, but that's interesting. Have you ever done it? It would make a very good survey actually.

I watched Conqueror's Story because I have nothing better to do and it was there. My uncle said it was a wuxia series so i say, what the hey. I only saw the beginning 2 hours and the ending three and skipped everything in the middle cuz adam's acting annoyed me so much, though. Only watched the ending cuz i was curious and I like the development of Kwong Wah's character. I think if adam wasn't the star in the show, I might have watched the whole thing instead of skipping to the end to see the outcome.

You can gather praises and comments from others but those will not change my opinion on Mr. adam. I have known for years that ppl like him and possibly "LOVE" him (that's why he's a notable tvb veteran for many years now), but that doesn't mean i do. just a matter of personal taste, i guess.

yes. you're very shallow for picking on his looks. May I beg to be differ, but Adam Cheng looks much more HANDSOME than Miu Kiu Wai from every perspective. The guy not only has talents in acting skill, singing skill, he also has a huge impact in hk television industry + the dude's god of stock market. Well well...Miu Kiu Wai can't even be compared with Adam Cheng. No comments on Chor Lau Heung 'cuz everyone knows the story! (Adam Cheng rox)

I guess i shouldn't be here, but i am here to see what other's have to say. Knowing what other's think of him might not change my opinion on Adam but knowing more of him do. I don't like to dislike actors. So, I want to learn more about them and see if there are series I should watch that others recommend. The only reason i brought up miu was that i did not agree with that previous comment. I must admit i have not watched many series w/ adam in and all that I watched, i don't like. But maybe one day i will find one that i do. Chances are my opinions will change about him after watching one series that i like, cuz i'm fickle that way.

Yes, like I said, you like MKW, I love Adam. My point is that I don't do around dissing him, that's why you've totally offended all of his fans in this thread.

I'm surprise that you're not aware that Adam sings all of the themesongs to his series. Suet Seung is right then, you have no knowledge about Adam before judging him, but that's okay since you are not his fan.

Didn't I say "if" you walk on a street in HK and do a survey about who IS the CLH, you'll be surprised with the result. The reason I mentioned HK and Taiwan because CLH was initially aired in both places during the 80s so you should ask the Chinese population there. Where else would you suggest me to do a survey huh?? Thailand? Cambodia? USA? Canada? LMAO. I haven't personally done it before but the gimmicks, voting polls and news reports have proven that Adam's CLH is much more successful. Hence, I suggested you to ask them yourself if you wished to know. Anyway, that's just my suggestion and it's your option blah.

Yeah, by reading your opinion about Adam in his thread, I could guess that you had nothing better to do. Good thing that you were annoyed by Adam's acting. So I must congrats to Adam, he has succesfully portrayed his character Lau Bong. Kwong Wa's role Hong Yu was initially arranged for Adam, but Adam decided to shift his role in order to try something new since Hong Yu was pretty similar to his other characters - courageous, intelligent, smart, heroic, etc. Therefore, he chose Lau Bong and said that he wanted the audience to hate Lau Bong. Wow I'm so happy that he made you hated him hahahahahaha

There are way too much compliments on Adam's career, acting, and personality from different people outside and inside the entertainment, so it's impossible for me to gather them all. What I mentioned in my earlier post was regarding Chor Lau Heung. If you're a big MKW's fan then you should know that the interviewers and DJs tend to mention his memorial character Yeung Hong in "Legend of the Condor Heroes 1983" ALL THE TIME, I doubt that they ever use "Chor Lau Heung" as his trademark character since CLH already has its owner - Adam Cheng. LOL but then again, it's a matter of personal taste like you've stated. Nothing will change our comments on Adam and how we dislike Miu Kiu Wai, so whatever.

back in November 1988, he came with a big group of TVB actors to dine at a restaurant. there was a kid just a month away from becoming 8 years old walking by and told by his father (the owner of the restaurant) to walk around their table and grab autographs. When he got it from everybody else, it came to the last person who is *surprise surprise* Adam Cheng. Well, he had a conversation with the kid and for some reason, failed to call him "Cheng Siu Chau" or "Chau Goon" but kept calling "Chor Lau Heung". So he signed his autograph to the little boy and feeling bored and left out, he walks up to a waitress and asked her to sign an autograph. The waitress freaked out and said she's no actor. The kid's little antics got caught in the attention of actresses Law Wai-Guen and Lee Yuen-Wah. Everyone was laughing all except an angered Adam Cheng gave me the cut-eye.

Wow, thanks tinlunlau for telling us your "story" It's indeed very interesting but I don't buy that. I judge people from my own encounter and how the majority look at them. Adam for an example, having been his fan for a long time, met him several times, shaken his hand, listened to him on the radio and read everything about him on the news - I come to a conclusion that he is such a hard working, down-to-earth artist I've seen. I won't blindly idolize an actor who doesn't deserve to be respected.

Anyway, as for your case, I have no idea what happened, but it didn't seem like Adam would be unhappy upon hearing "Chor Lau Heung." He KNOWS that he IS the Chor Lau Heung, so everywhere he goes, he would be known by the name CLH.

Your dad must had mistaken Adam, he probably was joking. I swear Adam lovessss joking, he can joke about anything, and sometimes people misunderstand his meaning. Oh well, perhaps you should have another encounter with Adam you might feel different about him LOL. I've met him several times and he always treats me the SAME - NICE, always smiles and "thank you thank you."
