Default name changes of novels turned into adaptions

several adaptions had their names changed from the novels when they were made. does anybody know their names. i recently read the summary for jin yong's 'linked cities' novel and realised the story matches a adaption called the 'scroll of sword' that i saw in the video store. are there more of those revisied name novel adaptions out there?

There are many. Such as Xiao Ao Jiang Hu, I've seen "The Smiling Proud Wanderer," "The Legend of Swordman," or just plain "Swordman." Others like HuangYi's novels, Xu Qin Ji (Search for Qin) and Da Tang Shuang Long Zhuan (Dual Dragons of Great Tang), get names that don't have anything to do with the original title (A Step to the Past and Twins of Brothers). We really need to get a uniform system for translating Wuxia novels' names.
