Does TVB has a rule that the theme songs must be sung by TVb actors? It's still very rare for Tvb actresses singing the themes songs somehow.
As much I enjoyed Bowie's acting in WAB,I just can't stand his singing....especially at the end of the song
No offence to Bowie's fans but I feel that maybe another singer would be better singing the song..

you can do a search under yesasia but ONLY the sequel its release on vcds boxset which its complete official atv drama tv series title its
'the rise & fall of Qing dynasty: Jeopardy in the forbidden city'
?????????????? (SEQUEL)---starring ken tong chun yip & jamie chic mei chun & suet lei & au-yeung, pui-shan & sum-sum.
I saw this sequel when it release on vhs years ago but not as good as the pre-sequel.

the themesongs were great really suitable for the mood of the series.

but yesasia.com listed the partial english title under
"the rise & fall of qing dynasty' ????

the english literal title of the chinese title its ' Qing Dynasty 13 dynasties" or
'manchu dynasty 13 dynasties' .

I WISH the other sequel produced in 1990

is released on vcds boxset in its original cantonese language instead of mandarin language since I don't understand mandarin language.

i didn't say tha jessica suit to be in war and beauty i meant that jessica should have won the award in the anniversary rather then gigi..... if i remembered corectly jessica got nominated because of sequel pegs right???? if yes she should have defianately won he award....

but i think that the theme song was actaully quite nice i mean his voice just matches wif the sdong and melody

i dunno abt jess, but i felt that gigi deserved the award for her performance in wab, it was great. jessica was nomintated for lady fan,not square pegs, that was last yr.

Gigi's performance was the weakest among the 4 ladies. Even Charmaine's performance is better than hers. I don't think she deserve the award. Sheren far outshone her in WAB.

yeah i agrees also.. even the girl who played poh sim was better than gigi.... have to admit that the middle part of the story was kinda draggy.. but i liked the show nevertheless, except for it's crappy ending (i'm a sucker for happy endings)

i agree wif kidd and ajcc.... gigi's performance was horrible her character needed her to cry and she can' even cry properly when she needed to... felt like slapping her whenever she came on sheren's perfomance was outstanding amongst the 4 thats for sure

by the way what happened to maggi cheung after the series i heard that she fell out wif TVB... she didn't even go for promotions or even get an award for the series i mean EVERYBPDY GOT an award apart from her

Maggie didn't do any promotion for WAB because she is busy filming the china series 'Song of Everlasting Sorrow'. I think she wants to break into china market. She put a lot of effort in this series.

but i feel tvb's not being fair here!!! maggie's performance was really good and they didn't give her any recognition just because she's busy with work else where. instead promoted gigi so much... urgh.. i just feel she did not deserve that award!!! sheren should have got it. and more recognition should be given to maggie

tvb uses the actors to sing the theme songs mainly to save the money.. I think it costs more to get someone else whos not in the series to sing it.

And i agree, Sheron should have won that award! she had a way better performance. Out of the four, Gigi, IMO, was the worst. no offense to gigi fans.

yep..... i hated her scenes and the fact that she can'ty act properly made it even worst ...... not to dis her or anything it5 is not the first time that she can't act..... ik mean in fate twister her acting was also quite horrible but now i am watching shades of truth until now she is not that bad but not that good either.....

erm so is maggie still under tvb contract??


well i think bowie did a good job in singing the theme song i mean IMO i really really really like it

i regret renting this series b/c it is boring! once in awhile it caught my attention like what's gonna happen next but it all comes down to just fighting for power; being the king's fave. that's it how repetitive! god could have gotten a better looking (younger) king to make it better. it's just ew they fight to sleep with him. anyway, i'm trying to finish this series as soon as possible so i get it over with. one thing i don't understand is how in the heck did bowie started liking gigi? i just see him being nice to every concubine, neutral and everything and all of a sudden he liked gigi?

If TVB were to pick a younger and more dashing king,I don't think Bowie and Moses managed to get even the slightest attention from the ladies 'cause all of them would be fighting to get closer to the king.About the awards thing,I feel that the way TVB treated Maggie was unjustified.Everyone from WAB got something.Just because she couldn't be there thus missing out an award,didn't mean that she had a bad performance in WAB.She did great.Too bad now she isn't in TVB anymore.

yep.... i agree wif cherrie i certainly think that maghie deserve at least an award
speaking of the wards apparntly tvb just gave the best actress award to gigi so that then she can be the next "star" and because shes younger then sheren thats why she got it and becasue shes is cheaper thats was why she was prefered to charmanice but frankly i seiousl hate her

and as for the best actor i think ray outstanded bowie in many aspects
