    Xu Ran's girlfriend did not die-the scene of dying in his lap was concocted by the Union, to make Xu Ran suicide, since he promised if she died, he would also die. Shu Yao (XR's former girlfriend) is actually controlled by the Union, and was put beside Xu Ran as a spy in the first place. After her 'death', she returned to the Union, but as for her exact ending, GSRL didn't show it clearly.
