Even though the Yanks are down 2-1, I am confident that they will win the series. Colon is fat, and he has a bad back - bad combination for the Angels. Now Washburn is a wash. Lackey has to start on short rest. No doubt he will get knocked around. Chacon is a very under-rated pitcher.

    Yankees in 5!

    Yanks lost.

So the matchup would be Cardinals-Astros and White Sox-Angels.

NL looks much better than AL at the moment, and i still think that Cards will win the series. The holes in the others seems much bigger.

    Yanks in 5!

King George! Payrod! Cheater! Cheffield! Godzilla! The Giambino (aka the Sultan of Shot)! The Moose! The Small Unit!

John Sterling: "Yankees lose, daaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa Yankees lose!"

I predict the Astros will defeat the Angels in the WS. There is NO way the White Sox or the Cardinals will make it to the Series. There is NO way that the Chisox would win another World Series title ever.

    ----------

With all the jinxing out of the way...

KROD did try to give the game to the Yanks. I didn't watch the whole game but I did see the 9th. He kept lopping curveballs up there. He hung 3 or 4, he was very lucky Cheater and the Giambino only got singles out of 2 of them. One of them very easily could have been parked in the seats. Every pitch he threw to Godzilla was a curveball. Even with the count 0-2, he kept lopping curveballs down the middle. I expected Godzilla to rip one to right center eventually, but it didn't happen, fortunately.

Curious, why do you call him cheater?

I noticed that somehow Matsui's nickname stayed in tact (and is still just as flattering).

Most. Annoying. And. Overrated. Call. Ever.

Besides, you forgot to add that little inflection he does. "daaaaaa-ah-ah-ah-ah".

It's actually his slider. It just curves so much it looks like a curveball but it goes much faster. But like you said, he likes it a little too much (either that or Benji likes it a little too much). But that baby breaks so hard that it's hard not to get on top of it, which was what happened with Matsui.

The Angels got robbed!!! It doesn't matter if the White Sox stole this game. The Angels will kill the Sox the next few games.

Lol, Pujols is wearing a "Who's Your Daddy?" shirt.

But anyway, he can pretty much wear whatever he wants after that huge game-winning and series-saving (at least for now) homer! I seriously thought the Cardinals were done after the Astros scored those 2 insurance runs earlier.

My night at a sport hangout watching the Astros game...

Berkman's homer - crowd erupted into a frenzy. High-fives everywhere. Noise level off the chart.

Top of the 9th. 2 out. Pujols on bat.

    Strike 1: CHEEEEEEEER.
2nd pitch. WHACK. It's flying. Complete silent. And it's outta there. Dead silent.

After the game, everyone asked why they didn't walk Pujols. Shattered hearts everywhere tonight in the city of Houston.
I would love to change the world, but they won't give me the source code.

2 years, 2 curses down. Next year I'm predicting another long suffering franchise will get its monkey off its back. (No, not the Cubs, sorry, but they have too many needs right now,) I'm picking the Indians. That's right, the Indians. Great, young hitters like Perrolta, Sizemore, Hafner, Martinez, good young pitchers like Lee and Sabathia, lovable fat closer, good fielding, good speed. It's gonna happen, just you watch.

It is very coincidental that the R Sox and the W Sox happen to win the WS in back to back years after long droughts. The last time they won was also back to back.

I am just glad my jinxing worked out. I was rooting for the W Sox all the way. I kinda wanted to see the Stros win their first one, but I don't want Roger the Dodger winning so I didn't mind jinxing them either.

Wickman may not be back next year. Maybe they can sign Todd Jones if they wanna continue the fat closer route.

Dumb Mets better not trade for Manny. Victor Diaz CAN play. He is a butcher in the OF, but so is Manny, and Diaz costs 20 million a year less. They even might be willing to sign a 34 year old closer who relies on hard stuff to a 4 year deal. Insane stuff. Minaya appears to have man crushes on some many Hispanic players and he wants many of them on his team. He's got a thing for Slammin Sammy too apparently. They found a dominant force out of the pen in Heilman and want to convert him back into a #3 type starter even though they already have plenty of starting candidates and the bullpen is thin. You can't make tales of such ineptitude up!

Just got back from holiday where i got little internet access, and when i checked the baseball awards results,

I was happy with the MVP results of both leagues, not great but good enough.

The NL Cy Young awards, i thought that willis would win. Carpenter won, though he might had been only the 3rd or 4th best in the league. Clemens got robbed, but then again it would be extremely hard to get another Cy with so few win.

The AL Cy Young was the big big shocker. Santana was in my opinion far better than Colon who struggles to be a top 5 candidate.

I think Carpenter was a good choice. It was between him, Dontrelle, and the Dodger.

Carpenter was better than Willis in nearly every category except ERA. The Dodger just didn't have enough wins (13) to justify winning the Cy Young when there are 2 20 game winners in the league. He was not "robbed."

There's no doubt Santana is a better pitcher than Colon, so I would agree with you, but the fat one does have 5 more wins than Santana.

    Can't wait until baseball starts.

I see 130 wins for the Yanks next year!

Mets are trying to be like the Yanks, huh? Getting Carlos Delgado's fat contract and signing Wagner for 4 years, $43 M. Who thinks they will go for Molina and Manny?

It's a risky move (not the going for Manny part, but the Wagner/Delgado thing). I like Delgado and Wagner, right now. But 2, 3 years down the road? I'm not too sure. They could get old, fast. But right now, they are looking pretty good.

As for them being the Yanks. Well, you won't be saying that when the Yanks sign Furcal and convert him to CF.
