This drama is another typical "food" drama from TVB. No surporises. Similar blueprint telling the story of how a nobody learns from a master to become one of the best chefs in the world. The only difference is this time it is focus on pastry instead of entree cooking.

Joe's acting is the same, no surprises.
Myolie keeps up her good work.
Bobo is better than when she was in "Aqua Heroes", there's improvements

This series is worth the borrow. I really enjoy watching this series. It has a mix of romance, comedy and the cakes are really good looking.

I have seen the first few eps of this show and its ok, the 'normal' ingredients of a TVB cooking show are present, like a cooking contest.

umm yes this series is wroth buying i would say.. this series is one of the best series that had been realsed this year i would say.. it has good acting in it, and emotions are expressed very well. By the way does anyone know who that guys name is, who plays in net dectpion as the undercover cop.. and plays the "cool" guy in this series... is his name jack wu? can anyone confirm thanx

I think after this series they might air The Herbalist Mannuel. The Gentle Crackdown is airing when they are showing the Gateau Affair.

Did anyone finished Myolie's new series 情迷黑森林,The Gateau Affairs? In this series Myolie is with Joe, but because of a miss understanding they broke up and Myolie kept on hurting him, cuz Myolie thought Joe wanted to be with her because of her mother (a very good cake maker). Cause of that Joe Ma stoped making cakes. When Myolie found out the truth she sacrifice her health to make Joe Ma start making cakes again, then during the compition Myolie faints. Then they go back together, and she did a surgery. Myolie was bald when she did the surgery. She had to do the surgery cuz she got hit by a dunder. In the movie they go though many things, but I don't have time to name it all out. I love this serie a lot.

It's so very typical of TVB to make a lead female character that is extremely annoying and irritating in the beginning and then make her all nice and self-sacrifing later so that viewers will like her.
