You'd have to look at Lau Dan's younger picture, and plus he could look more like his mom or someone else in the family.

Yeah, I don't think they look similar either.

How did Lau Dan used to look? I'm kinda curious now.

I found Lau Dan's picture when he was a young man.

and Lau Dan at age 25

I think I do see the resemlance in the nose and eyes. Hawick does look like his father when, he was younger.

    Thanks for the pictures.
I do see it now, sort of.
    Thank goodness for optimal genetics.

Thanks for those pictures! Hawick Lau is SO SO SO SO CUTE! I hope he doesn't change his style! I wish to re-watch his appearance again in Virtue of Harmony II..Do you guys remember which episode he first appears? I don't know much about his acting, but I think he's better than many actors out there. I like his smile (mouth) a lot!
If you have more pics of Hawick please post them up!Thanks

He is awesome in Sealed with a Kiss, he makes me melt!!
Never knew he was such a powerful actor. I put him on par with 4th prince performance in BBJX, you guys agree?

TVB missed out, they should have put him in better roles. Gosh I hate TVB sometimes, they waste so much talent!

Right!! How can TVB not see the greatness in this awesome guy?? His Mo ShaoQian really had my heart crying out for him. He brought dimension to the character, simply put he nailed it.

I've been a silent reader of this forum for a long time, kind of sad it's been so dead for so long. I know he has more fans than this... This thread deserves more attention.

Hi Sunno, I completely second your opinion/support for Hawick. I had never been a fan of his as he never got big roles in TVB, nor did I watch any of his series in China, but I watched Qian Shan Mu Xue because I saw that it garnered massive following within China internet tv sites, so I watched 1 episode and read the book, yes his portrayal of Mo Shao Qian is amazing, so very touching, his slightly psychotic but wretchedness make my heart ache for him. Love it when he is in pain/ tortured! I sound crazy now don't I...lol, us girls always like the anti-hero hero in love stories!

Like you I never participated in this forum before but because of my love of QSMX, I got hooked and became involved in the forum and started posting etc!!
I am looking forward to Hawick's next project which is a TV series (寂寞空庭春欲晚) which is also adapted from the same author of QSMX. hehe..he is getting paired with the beautiful Tong Ya Li, the second female lead from Gong 1!! Fully looking forward to the series!

and I found a great article with an interview with Hawick,

    http://ent.qq.com/a/20111114/000330_3.htm

he seems so down to earth, he never had a manager or assistant. He is the stay at home type and because of that he still calls HK home and goes back to HK to spend time with his parents when he completes filming in China. Such a good guy, he would probably make a good bf, hubby and Dad. Hope he has luck in finding someone soon.

I know, I was shocked when I found out he's been managing himself all this time!! Luckily he's no longer alone since he joined the same management company as Yang Mi. I hope he finds someone soon, he sounds like a very responsible person and someone who's been through in a lot.

Thanks for the interview he sounds like someone who plans a lot and considers a lot of factors before making a move. Definitely a man who will be responsible for his words and duties.

Anyway I'm watch an anicent movie, called The King and the Assassinator
that has Hawick Lau in it, and yes he's the lead...I think Hawick looks way cuter in a modern series...Check it out here http://youtube.com/watch?v=Ww9Zke1aJ1g&feature=related
Agree, he is very good looking especially with his hair in modern serials.

    Hi suuno and yanage,
I agree with you guys, I started posting in this forum since SWAK, his acting was good and some of the scenes in that drama has a lot of holes since I didn’t read the novel, so I have to ask around to fill in the gaps . Thanks to Yanage who gave a lot of her opinions and insights in regards of SWAK drama .

I never heard of Hawick Lau before SWAK since I haven’t watched HK dramas for a long long time. At first I thought he was an actor from mainland and when Hunan gave SWAK preview, let’s just say that I was not really that interested in watching SWAK. So I started watching in the middle of this series when Hawick caught my eye, I said ‘hmm...the actor is kind of cute...' Hahaha. And it just happened that the scene was interesting so I kept watching and watching it. I like his character there, he’s cool and maintained his composure most of the time but not because of lack of acting skills. Sometimes when I watch some dramas, new comers are given certain roles that they don't say much in the role and give the impression of a cool person to cover some of their lack of acting skills .

Since SWAK, I always look forward for his next projects or his previous dramas. I just finished watching Guo Se Tian Xiang (Spell of the fragrance). I think it was originally aired the end of last year. But one channel in China is currently airing this drama, in fact there is another channel starts airing Dec 22, 2011 at 7:35 pm, China time.

In Guo Se Tian Xiang, his acting wasn’t all that challenging, at least not as challenging as he is in SWAK, although it is still not that bad.

If you’re interested in seeing it, you can watch it streaming at Utube, it’s a pretty good quality although it is not english sub, I haven’t looked for any english sub yet.

But this drama is nothing compared to SWAK in terms of the plot and Hawick Lau's acting.

I was crazy with Hawick after watching Spell of Fragrance, then searching for his next drama i.e. Sealed with a Kiss. Spell of Fragrance was my first Mainland drama, no intention to watch at first as not very liking mainland drama, just browse PPS for fun and get hooked. Just finish watching The Single Mother, huh! Never expect myself to watch his drama one after another.
