Good news folks! As confirmed by Sunnysnow in the HSDS thread, ADY is indeed playing the role of Zhao Min!

Yep, Im glad whoever that made the final decision had sense to cast Ady as ZM instead of ZZR. Imagine the disappointment I had when i first read that Ady was cast as ZZR instead!

Anyhow, hopefully Hua Yi sticks to the lead cast (as much as i disapprove of Deng Chao as ZWJ, im willing to give him a chance) and dont do anymore switches or changes at the last minute. On the bright side, I cant wait to see Ady in costume! I hope theres no wardrobe malfunction this time round!

Alyssa Chia was AMAZING as Zhao Min.



I reckon if Ady An can repeat something like Lin Yueru from Chinese Paladin, then HSDS would be a success.

Actually I hope Ady can give us something different from what we saw in CP. Given the numerous series she has worked on since CP, I do hope her acting has matured and developed as well.

Even if they do share certain similar aspects, Yue Ru and Zhao Min are ultimately pretty different characters. ZM is spoilt but she's certainly more intelligent, capable and devious with an air of royalty. She is cheeky and mischievous but commands respect from her men as well.

No offense to Alyssa fans but I found her ZM too childish and comical for my liking. She adopted a very typical Taiwanese-style approach when portraying ZM and I certainly hope that Ady doesnt follow her footsteps.

Alyssa was so funny in HSDS 2003, but funny in a cute way. Have anyone noticed that she rarely wore her Monglian outfits compare to previous versions w/ Kitty Lai & Gigi Lai. I thought she only wore her culture outfit one time, right after ZWJ rescued the six sects from the temple. I didn't like the rest of her outfits throughout the series, but her hair was really pretty. Let's hope Ady will look great and have her own distinctive acting style into this version.

Alyssa's Zhao Min matured significantly towards the middle and end of the series. The actual Zhao Min is supposed to be really young and cheeky. But not going to start a fan war here lol. I really liked Ady's performance in Paladin and there is enough similarity between Lin Yueru and Zhao Min for her to take some of her good performances over. I just hope they don't get that funny hair on Ady again lol but ZJZ's choice of hairstyles has been pretty reasonable.

I seriously hope Ady doesnt get a hairdo or costume as ugly and weird as what Shu Chang got in DOMD. Im keeping my fingers crossed that ZM's mongolian outfits will look nice because costume designers have the potential to stray wild when working on tribal outfits. I still think Gigi Lai had the best ZM costumes/hair till date and it did help enhance her portrayal of the character.
