She's supposed to start filming for her new Taiwanese series this month but there hasn't been news/updates about it recently.

On a side note, she recently attended an LV store opening in Shenzhen, China. Ady seems quite fond of baring her back recently.

You honestly should watch a series for way more than just a particular actress or just the cast. I think the plot and story of a series is the most important thing. Of course having a good cast is a BIG plus as well...

Ah, but I think many an eye is more often than not 'guided' to a production by a particular actor/actress. The other of course is a popular literary piece (e.g. book, poetry). Dwindling it down, any production involving a pre-existing, popular element attracts attention. Whether or not said production keeps its attention, especially for the length of a whole series is another achievement in itself.

Although, I too appreciate good plots.

Just recently finished watching Niu Liang Zhi Nu. I change my mind in some respects: frightfully bad characterisation, or, none at all; sequencing and pacing of some scenes , and I imagine my younger brother could write a better script/dialogue. I don't understand how they can have such a hefty budget and not spend it on a good scriptwriter. Ady was so wasted as an actress in this series. Cinematography was well done though - would've been superb if there was more angle variation and play with light and dark. Although, I still appreciated it for its grandness, Ady looking awfully pretty, costume and armour detail (truly one of the best aspects of the series), and Niu Liang's relationship with the cow and it's mother (touching and profound as a stand alone).

Can't wait until Ady's struts her stuff as ZM. I'm anticipating she will prove to be my fav ZM actress ever, and with the calibre of Yip Tong as ZM, that's saying something.

Ady as spokesperson for a green campaign organized by her management company, HY Brothers. She seems to have put on abit of weight as her face doesn't look as skinny as before.

Doesn't seem to be much news on that production though Ady has started filming for it already. Apparently after filming in mainland for so long, Ady's finding it a little difficult to adjust back to working in Taiwanese productions. The latter style is to film and air a series at the same time (while mainland's style is to finish filming an entire production before airing it). As a result, actors only receive a few episodes worth of info and script just before each filming schedule, which makes it difficult for them to spend enough time understanding and preparing for their character(s).

From what is written in the article, she returned to film an idol series mainly because she misses home and also because she likes the script. She finds her role challenging because she has to portray a character from age 20-40.

Actually I think Ady shouldn't concentrate solely on Mainland dramas because Taiwanese idol dramas are very popular with the mainland audience but mainland dramas aren't popular with Taiwanese audiences. So overall, I guess her popularity will rise in both places if she films a very successful Taiwanese drama. I'm pretty shocked to learn that she gave up the lead role (which went to Joe Chen) in the successful "Fated to Love You" for her role in "Yun Niang" (which didn't do very well in mainland). But then again, she was still with her old management at that time. Hopefully HY Brothers will continue to make wiser decisions for her.

Yeah, I was quite stunned to learn about that as well. After all, the show's a huge success in Asia and Ady's popularity could have skyrocketed overnight (just like what it did for Ethan Ruan). But then again, Joe Chen was one of the major reasons why the series did so well so we won't know whether it'll do as well if Ady was the lead actress instead (even though I personally find Ady a better actress than Joe).

I hope Ady keeps doing Taiwan dramas...even if she finds it hard to get used to the filming style now. A mix of mainland + TW will be better for her popularity.

But I imagine since she's doing HSDS her popularity will skyrocket in both places all at once since Jing Yong is of course known in TW too.

hmm from those pics, i think that ady and vanness make quite a good-looking couple. very feminine girl and very masculine guy. the previous pairing of ady with an actor that i thought was matching was with dylan kuo, and that was a while ago. so hopefully this new idol series of hers will turn out good.

I agree, Vanness looks better than I had expected. Though his acting leaves a lot to be desired. I hope he does a decent job this time round or it'll be quite a waste on Ady's acting. From the little info that's available, it seems like Vanness plays a lawyer in this series and the story centers around crime, law suites and the likes.

With Jing Boran, 1/2 of China's best boy group...BoBo (I'm biased) at the Hua Yi function.







Ady posted a pic of them together on her blog a year or two ago. Seems like they get along very well, are friends (On on a Chinese variety show they looked at Boran's phone and she was the first number...although that was probably alphebetical), and they're so cute together. Love them both, so it was really cute seeing them together. Too bad they're almost a decade apart in age, but Ady's always seem to be quite young, and Boran's actually very mature although mischevious.
