Uhm. I don't see it. Not at all. Ady's face is rounder, she has bigger eyes, different smaller nose, different eyebrows, etc...

Umm... I don't think she looks like Huang Yi, but I think she looks like Vicki on a side angle from her left side. For example this pic:

believe it or not, it's Ady!

They can't 'hammer' me. 'Cause facts are facts. They can argue about their dependence but NOT their ETHNICITY.
Be clear with the difference. Their origins are Chinese, some even recent migrants. So, facts are that Taiwanese too can have the 'classic Chinese look' since they're the same ETHNICALLY anyway.

Actually not all chinese look the same. Different chinese have different features, bone structures, skin colour etc, the most visible being that of northern as compared to southern chinese. I am a chinese myself but somehow i and other chinese in spore look very different from those from mainland, taiwan or even hongkong. we have a more modern look to us and cannot carry off classic chinese wear/look as well as the mainlanders/taiwanese, who are comparative fairer and have sorta more dainty features. it is possible to tell a taiwanese and mainlander (depending on where she's from) apart quite easily. it is even more easy to spot a chinese from mainland (based on her looks alone) outta the local crowd in spore besides their obvious difference in accent.

Ethnically chinese? I don't think so. Tru, Nationalists were kicked off to Taiwan when the communist came in, but what about the inhabitants on the taiwan island? Those are who i identify are the original taiwansese. If u go to the originaly taiwanese, they have darker skin or something. I have two friends who are chinese/taiwanese. They always debate about stuff like that.. and they say that tru taiwanese look different from mainlander. Just people don't really look at them and group them as chinese.

I myself have some part chinese from my ancestors. But i look different from a typcal girl from mainland, darker, rounder eyes, etc.

Differences such as skin complexion and accent is obvious because of geographic location. Of course. But what i meant was that they're all Han Chinese, and that Taiwanese people are capable of looking like other Mainland Chinese (minus the clothes/fashion, accent). I know what you mean, but ethnic origin still remains.

Umm, of course the native Taiwanese are different but they make up only 2% of the Taiwanese population (with 98% forming Han Chinese), and i can bet you that most Taiwanese celebrities are Han Chinese. That was my point, not the aboriginals of Taiwan.

sorry to get OT alittle but politics aside, most taiwanese people do identify themselves as "ethnically" chinese. with all other factors constant, you generally cannot differenciate between chinese and taiwanese people just based on their appearence. there are alot of mainland chinese girls with more "cartoonish" looks like ady, jolin etc, Yang Mi happens to be one of them.
You're right though, alot of taiwan actresses do have certain similarities in their appearence, but i think thats just a matter of peference on the part of the taiwan audience(maybe they just like actresses with rounder, more manga-like features?), and not rooted in some inherent genetic difference in their race.

I'm really happy that An Yi Xuan is getting more popular nowadays. She really deserves it, since I believe she's different from those other actresses that star in teen idol dramas. She's a very natural and versatile actress
