Okay, LYF doesn't have the best record for hairstyles, but at least she didn't go for the ghetto hairstyle Ady has. Hate to be racist about what's right, but in general that does not work on Asians.

But back to GuGu, yes, LYF would look absolutely fab.

Her skinniness compared to LYF put aside, what is Ady trying to achieve? I wish she'd gone for an acting role. I just wish all of these actresses would evaluate themselves, figure out their strengths and weaknesses, and maybe not dwell on their weaknesses? I mean, is singing really making Ady feel fulfilled? If so, then sure, she can take that direction with her career, the interests of her fans don't matter. But considering she's already gotten a name for herself in the acting industry, where she is talented, it's a waste IMO.

Yes, she was Sai Jin in TWFX. I find her a pretty sweet-looking girl, she plays Nanlan, Miao Ruolan's (Ady) mother and Miao Renfeng's (Alex Fong) wife in "Flying Fox". She's one of the few female characters (along with Gillian's Cheng Lingsu) who manages to look pretty with decent costumes and hair, unlike the fashion disasters for Athena Chu and Ady, which spoil their beauties in the series!

She plays Ady's mother?? Isn't she a few years younger than Ady? I think she has a rather natural/innocent/vunerable beauty.

Yea. But Ady doesnt appear till the later parts in the show where her kter, Ruolan, is all grown up. By that time, Nanlan (Lu Yi) has passed away. Nanlan only appears in the earlier bits of the story, and through flashbacks etc. in her younger days.

Come to think of it, Ady's belly button is indeed pretty high up her stomach area. Or she probably has a very long upper frame. And a very bony one as well..

I am not really an expert, but I woudl account her pose as well. She is arched to one side with her hips tilted upwards (slightly) and her shorts are really short short ... makes the belly button look even upper

Hahaha......I've heard of Flying Fox (i mean, its JIN YONG), in fact, I've even heard of some of the characters (Hu Fei, Miao Ruolan), but I don't really know the plot.
Well, it looks like I won't be watching this version of Flying Fox, since I want to know the REAL plot of Flying Fox, not some messed up butchered Wong Jing version.

I personally loved the 1984 adaption of TVB starring Ray Liu, Margie tsang, and patrick tse.

I like the story of Flyingfox... and yet I think it is one of the most underrated story of Jin Yong

Yeah, luckily the majority of dissers mostly attack MRL, the character, instead of Ady, the actress playing it because most audiences have seen her as Yue Ru in "Chinese Paladin" or Xiao Yan Zi in "The Outsiders" before and know shes a decent actress. But well, it's pretty hard not to dislike Ady in a role as annoying as this, especially if ur not a fan or are not familiar with her. I find most Athena Chu (Yuan Ziyi) fans more impartial and reasonable in the sense that they dont put the blame on Ady but on Wong Jing whereas the Gillian Chung (Cheng Lingsu) fans are mostly more partial and discriminatory because most of them tend to link Ady, the actress to the annoying MRL kter and diss both, saying stuff like she looks annoying and behaves irritantingly etc. Kinda reminds of the time Michelle Yip fans started dissing GYY for portraying an evil character and killing Michelle's ket in "Tian Xia Di Yi".

Im not the best person u should ask regarding this series because i havent even watched it. But judging from the trailer clips and stuff i've read/heard abt Ady's character etc. you probably wouldnt wanna watch it if ur watching solely for Ady.

And yea, I heard "Fast Track Love" was boring and bland as well. As for "Legend of Hero", I've watched the entire series and have posted a review for it on spcnet.tv and not only does Ady have a boring role in it, the entire series is just bad imo.

Her recent serials, "The Great Revival" where she plays Xi Shi and "Da Han Tian Zi 3" were not well-recieved in the mainland either. Im not sure about her role as Xi Shi but her role in DHTZ3 is rather boring and stereotypical, it's mainly a more annoying and exaggerated version of Yue Ru (Chinese Paladin) plus the series is nothing fantastic either..I watched till around episode 4 and have still yet to complete the series which i bought late last yr

Ady's been working on so many serials eversince Chinese Paladin but they all seem disappointing! And to make matters worse, "The Last Princess", a large-scaled production which she was offered the lead role but turned down to work on the album, seems to have interesting characters and plot!!

Actually, Gillian didn't seem too bad from the clip i saw. Athena just looked old, which i commented on already. Ady's acting seemed fine in the preview... it's just they destroyed her character. I was really concerned that there wouldn't be enough acting and variation in the character of MRL, who i find v. bland, but now, it turns out that her character is full of 'surprises' in that i have no idea about all WJ is making her do!

i always thought HF and MRL were meant to be "true love" at the end of the novel, so i assume they haven't followed that through? The impression i get is that HF loves only YZY despite whatever sexual healing occurred between him and CLS.

I don't think i'd be too happy with a character that kills the 'qi xing hai tang' and then stabs her father's corpse, marries her 'rapist' etc. etc.


MRL was a small role i was surprised Ady accepted- my visions of her in HSDS are currently going down the drain. I haven't seen anything great from Ady for a while now and i have yet to HEAR anything great either

MRL in this series, as compared to the novel, definitely gives Ady ALOT to work with. But not alot of good stuff, but bad stuff. There is a limit to being annoying and MRL in this adaptation has crossed it by so much! Seriously, like i said earlier, they might as well just create a new character rather than butcher MRL up like that! WJ seems bent on making MRL a character everyone will love to hate. I mean, I can accept if she causes the death of YZY, but of CLS as well and making so much trouble for HF and MRF just sounds terrible. WJ has really succeeded in transforming one of the most gentle and sweet JY female characters into one which is comparable to Guo Fu in ROCH

It seems as if MRL does end up with HF here, im not sure. But even so, being made up to be so annoying, I dont think anyone would be pleased or support her with HF, as compared to the nicer and more sacrificial YZY and CLS.
