tjarqvist is a dman isnt he? dunno much about him but he aint gonna replace pronger
one thing about edm is they'll scarafice themselves to win. if only the nucks are as willing to throw their body in front of shots, we'd be in the PO last yr too. but i do worry about edm and injuries. the odds of them takin one of those shots in the ankle is much higher then normal becuz they put themselves in those position. its just a matter of time till smith goes down w/ a serious injury.

damnit Burke is really building a powerhouse down there in Anaheim.. and supposedly from rebuilding stage he has turned them around into a cinderella team and a rising powerhouse.

I kinda want him back on the Canucks but Ill give Nonis sometime. I wished Nonis would've made a deal or something to bring Mark Bell to Vancouver but heard today Sharks acquired him to put him in a line with Cheechoo and Thornton. And THANK GOD Cloutier the sieve has been sent to LA for 2 round picks. Hell - we would've still won a trade if we had traded him for a bag of pucks- let alone 2 round picks.

I also heard Canucks are making offers for Danny Markov. Would be a good addition to our D group. To say the truth, Im actually more concerned than our offense more than ever now with Bertuzzi gone. I hope Nonis gets a good right wing to fill in Bert's place and Im not as interested in Carter as much. The guy is asking too much. One wonderous season with vast improvement playing in the same line with the twins and he expects a 9 mil/ 3 year contract. Hell the Sedins could turn anyone from zero to hero. If Carter comes back for a reasonable price Nonis is willing to offer for -sure I'll take him back. But if he asks for 2 mil + he can say bye bye.

I dont mind seeing one of our forward prospects who would do a decent job at training camp play with the Sedins if possible. But until training camp and next season, who knows what would happen. I'm really looking forward to more hockey action and of course my Canucks boys next season in a few months.

Burke is doing a super job, but i think he's running out of money he only had about 9 mil to spend and he has like about 6 spots vacant. we're doing ok with 22 mil in total. This cap really does level off the playing field but then it also allows for massive move each season, which in my opinion is kinda gay cause it's a lot to follow up on and this years stanley cup champion may be next year's team to choose the first overall draft pick.

I think Kevin Lowe is going for a really really young core, it may benefit in the long run, or it may back fire on us, with free agency age dropped to 25, in a couple year we could lose stoll, torres, hemsky, schremp, that does not look good for a young team like us.

I dont think you should worry much about your Oilers and the core and its future a few years from now and losing everybody.
Lowe is going for a good offensive core to build around with Smyth, Stoll, Hemsky, Roloson, Torres (I hate this $%^) and dont forget- your Oilers have good prospects in waiting- such as Schremp, Dubnyk, etc. And also, you now have added Joffrey Lupul, one of the young guns that have some of the sweetest hands, skills and speed around. And from the sounds of it, he seems extremely hyped to be playing for his childhood favorite team, not to mention, his grandparents are part owners of the Oilers. He's a true talent.

In my opinion, the Oilers have enough speed, youth and offense already. But they need to fill in for some grit and some defense, now with Pronger and Spacek gone. Not to mention big Georges Laraque has signed in Phoenix.

But I dont know, just my 2 cents from my limited knowledge of the Oilers. After all Im a Canucker.

Canucks to me look pretty good, they got solid goaltending now, they just need to sign carter and good thing they got rid of bertuzzi. I thin you guys need to give nonis some time, i dont' know much about him, but it's too bad burke is not there with the team, or else you guys would still have jovo and bertuzzi.

burke steped into another good situation and its making him look like a genious. he came to vancouver when naslund and bertuzzi were about to break out, a high pick and a superstar (bure) wanting out. he then we to anahiem that have rob neidermayer to lure in scott, selanne baggin to come back, and young talents such as lupul, perry and getzlaf. no get me wrong, i think burke is an ok GM, but he aint as good as ppl give him credit for. u put him in chicago and he'll get fired in 2 wks lookin forward to the ducks vs sharks games next yr tho, should be 8 great games!

as for bell, did u see what sj have to give up for him? they gave up a 40pts scoring dman and a prospect, we cant match that. bell's a center anyways, we need RW. really want kotalik or dumont from buffalo, altho i doubt it'll happen. danny markov is too expensive 4 us imo. we need forwards, we have like $2M after filling all the holes on 3rd/4th line a backup goalie, we need to spend it on a competent RW for the sedins. i feel bad for carter tho, 33 goals last yr and nobody willing to pay him $3M? samonov went for $4M and he score less goals. no respect for carter haha.

i like what edmonton is doing, looks like the sabres team from last yr. lots of speed and skill up front, solid G, no name d group but will be ok. their speed will draw lots of penalty, and they got scorers to put the puck in the net. if they can get 1 good dman they'll be fine.

im actually glad bert and jovo is gone. bert is a cancer in the room and hes a slacker too. jovo is too injury prone lately and turn over the puck too much. they arent the players they once was, but they r getting top dollars, so im glad they r gone.

i think the flames look quite good, they may not need to rely just on kiprusoff next season, they got some scoring threats now.

and am i hearing things right lindros coming to edmonton, ok.... lets get one thing straight, kevin lowe is a pretty good GM, but really what is he thinking this time? Lindros is probably the most injurty proned player i have ever seen, if you bring him here, it'll do more damage than it will do good. Then again we never know, look what happened when we brought roloson, spacek, pronger and peca in. the funny thing is 3 out of those 4 guys are gone. sigh.

lindros not bad when healthy, as long as he just go in and play his game, hes good for 60 pts. if he comes in cheap i think edm should give him a shot

then where would we put horcoff and stoll and schremp when he's coming up, i don't think we would like to put lindros on the third line, but it won't be fair to jarret stoll either since he had such a great year.

i guess horcoff will be on the 1st line, since he just sign a big contract. stoll can play 2nd, and lindros can play 3rd, or RW on 2nd line. but seeing as how deep your team is up front, and line from 1 to 3 can be your top line, kinda like wat buffalo had last year.
anyways, looks like lindros going to dallas, so u dont have to worry about him coming to your team and messing up the oiler

the only thing i'm worried about my team is their defense. It looks good, they're young, energetic and have pretty good rating, but then no experience, without pronger there, theres no one showing the young guys how to play, we're gonna get beat, now our game plan is score more than they do basically. Doesn't matter how good roloson is, if our defense is inexperienced, we're gonna let in a lot of goals.

whats your top 6 D gonna be next year? all i know is smith/staios/bergeron/greene. mabbe smid makes it? either way it doesnt look good at all. smith is a #2, staios mabbe #4, bergeron a PP specialist, greene and smid are too young to count on. u guys r in trouble.

that is a very horrible group of d. i hope your 4wards scores alot of goals and roloson stands on his head, otherwise it'll be a long season 4u. altho theres still lots of time to make a trade, im not sure whos available out there rite now dat'll really help make this group respectable

From what i see from stoll, he will get the C. There are so many young guys who can become strong players in the future of the oilers organization, hemsky, schremp, torres, pisani. These guys are one day going to wear a letter on their left shoulder.
