Although I despise the Flames I hate to admit the fact that I love Kipper and Phaneuf. Only wish they don't do so well when they play against us.

By the way guys - besides your own team- which are some of the other teams you like, support, etc?

Besides the Canucks, my hometeam, and the one and only team that truely earns my full support, passion no matter what - I also really really like the San Jose Sharks whom I probably consider my second favorite team.

Sharks - at first I really like their logo, and when I first became a Canucks/hockey fan, one of the first few hockey games was one vs. San Jose. It was an intense game of fast-skating good hockey played by both teams which I definitely enjoyed lots.
It definitely brought back some memories of when I first loved the game of hockey. We won the game but I appreciated the effort by the Sharks to put up such a performance to make such a great game happen.
Then they faced Calgary in Western Conference Finals - and I've been rooting for them to douse the Flames out - too bad it didn't happen but since then I've really liked the Sharks. Not to mention them being a dangerous contender from a serious comeback as a bottom-seeder in the 05/06 season was definitely impressive.

Marleau and Nabokov are some of my favorite players since I started following hockey, and with Thornton being traded into the team, the rise of Cheechoo-Thornton era began and became one of last season's hottest topics.

For some reason when I first knew about the Sharks my impression of them was good - and them playing the Flames totally stole my support after the Canucks were eliminated. Hahah if we won the series vs. the Flames we would've been playing the Sharks and maybe I wouldn't have liked them so much in that case. :P

The Habs - rich storied hockey franchise. true Canadian hockey team and fanbase. Totally unrelated but I love Hab colors- red, blue, white.

PANTHERS - TODD BERTUZZI. ALEX AULD. BRYAN ALLEN. our beloved ex-Canucks

Detroit Red Wings - I dont know .. I just know that they've earned my support since '04 playoffs when they played Calgarryyy. I also liked a few players from that team - STEVIE Y, Kris Draper, Dominic Hasek, and Curtis Joseph when he was with them.
The fact that Detroit is hockeytown - or at least the most storied American hockey franchise with a true fanbase also has to do with it.

Them being contenders of a few Cups, domination of the West for nearly a decade comes as the real minor reasons.

Anaheim Ducks - I dont really like them since they always own the Canucks but I really like some players - Scott Niedermayer, Teemu Selanne and RYAN GETZLAF.

Ottawa Senators - one of my top favorite hockey players - Jason Spezza. Although I do find him good looking - mind you my very reason for being a true fan of his is because of the ability of wicked things this guy could do and have. Alfredsson-Heatley-Spezza line was also one of the league's hottest lines - if not already the hottest- of last year.

Tampa Bay Lightning - my only real impression of them are '04 Stanley Cup Champions who OWNED the Flames in the Finals for Lord Stanley. HAHA I was so glad and I've been supporting them all the way to the final seconds. Two players I really like - Vincent Lecavalier and of course one of my top favorites- Brad Richards.

im also glad to see all the former nucks doing well, altho they seem to have cool off abit after a great 1st game.

wow dat clb game was fun to watch. its entertaining to see the nucks work hard and dont give up for a change. even when we were down 2-0 i knew we could come back and win, we work too hard and have too much chances to just fold. im somewhat surprise dat the sedins-nazzy line is working so well. i really didnt think naslund is the type of player to play w/ the twins, but they r proving me wrong. did u see nazzy's behind-the-back-backhand pass to danny? dat was a beaut! once mo and bulis get some chem going, we'll be a pretty good team imo. i hope bourdon plays next game tho, i heard the flu is holding him back from playing.

i saw parts of the oilers/flames game today, and i thot the flames did a pretty nice job of trapping the oilers. not much scoring chances for either team, and kipper and rolie were there to stop watever comes their way. i think theres a good chance dat all 3 western canadian teams make the playoff.

wow, is there a team in the league u DONT like??

i like the nucks obviously. and the avs are my 2nd fav team mainly becuz they were the best and most skilled team back in the days when i first follow hockey. i also like the pens, cuz of lemieux and crosby and jagr. (OT: i dont want the pens to move! damn it pittsburg, stop being such a cheapass and build the pens an arena already!! u built a baseball ballpark and a football field, just build the goddamn ice rink too. )

i hate the leafs, flames and sharks tho. hate the sharks cuz nabakov scored a goal on us when i attended the game at GM place, as a nuck fan dat was one of the most embarassing moment ever. im also not too fond of the rangers, those bastards stole the cup from us back in '94.

oh yes there are teams that I don't like in the league.

FLAMES obviously comes to mind when speaking of teams I hate. I also don't like the Oilers however I did support them in the Cup Finals vs. the 'Canes. Cant believe I almost shed a tear for those guys :S

Actually you know what - I pretty much hate the whole NorthWest division except for our Canucks. I HATE Avs - Steve Moore incident, their fans, and who can forget the rivalry between the Canucks and Avs - and how they always own us. I hate Floppa too when he was back in Colorado- Tanguay, Roy, Hejduk can all suck it as well. Sakic is the only saving grace of the team.

Min - '03 playoffs anyone? Not to mention their style of ZzZZzZZZzzzzzzzZZZZZzzzZzz hockey makes me wanna watch paint dry instead of a minute of their game unless they are playing the Canucks. Also hated Roloson when he was back with the Wild.

Rangers - STOLE OUR DAMN CUP IN '94! Their jerseys are also gay.

Anaheim - always own the Canucks. If you read my earlier post I stated I did not like the Ducks but I do like some of their players.

There are some teams that I don't give a shit about or literally just dont really like them for one or two reasons but that wouldn't really fall into the 'teams I dislike' category.

haha superkarate - cant believe you like the Avs! But yea you stated your reasons why. HAHAHA yea I know about the Nabokov goal - kinda embarrassing to have a goalie score into your empty net. I used to really like Nabokov when I first followed hockey and Canucks - and probably my favorite goaltender. But not anymore when I actually know a lot more about hockey now. I like Vesa Toskala - in no time he should be getting the starting job over Evgeni. What a year for him last year!

Although I just became a fan in '04 - as a avid Canucks/hockey fan I did a lot more research by reading and watching vids of the past to gain some of my hockey knowledge. :P I watched '94 Rangers-Canucks Game 7 .. can't believe Lafayette hit the post GRRRRRRRRR what a pylon.

other than the oilers another team that i really like is the pens, cause when i first started watching it was still lemiuex and jagr and that was crazy good. I also like the sens, but they seem to be getting whipped by all the really really bad teams out ther. and the last team is probably the canucks, yes i'll support you guys, i never said i hated you guys and yes i am an oiler fan and i'm not on crack. geez everytime someone hears me say that i like the canucks they start bashing at them, the canucks aren't that bad, i respect them a lot, they got skill they're just missing heart, it's fun to watch the canucks, well back then and not last year, you guys just sucked last year. the best time was probably during the 03 playoffs when i thought you guys had it with minnesota. I really wanted the canucks to advance.

teams i most utterly hate well for starters theres the flames for sure. But that doesn't mean i like tampa, no I hate tampa A LOT, especially when don cherry keeps saying how lecavalier is all this and all that and how anderychuk is all this and all that. They're not gods and they have an ugly jersey in my opinion. Like when cherry said that even when lecavalier was in a fight, he still has a heart like a lion, well he pot pinned down by chara he had both hands over his face and all scrunched up like a baby, you call that heart like a lion, BS. I also don't like carolina, i never liked them, the year that detriot won the cup against the canes, i started to hate them. They have an ugly logo, their rink looks like SHIT, their current captain looks like a genetics experiement gone wrong and HE FRENCHED THE CUP!!!! I was so angry when HNIC showed brind'amour kissing the cup. I hope the hurricanse go 0-20-10 for the first 30 games, I HATE THEM SO MUCH. And finally being an oilers fan, I HATE THE STARS, they keep beating us in the playoffs and we tried so hard every year, we put everything on the line and all the stars do is play half-hearted and they pull out a win, that's why i think the new CBA is so good, it evens out the playing field so we can kick those stars ***

I know...'03 coulda been our year... definitely disappointing btw you sure you're not on crack? haha kidding .. you do realize you're in Deadmonton when you made that comment about liking the Canucks? Deadmonton - where the inmates run the city. okay okay hold your tomatoes .. that was all in good fun :P totally didnt mean that at all it really is a nice city.

well its just that im mixed between emotions of disappointment and anger that my boys lost tonight in Denver vs. the Crapalanche. I love Marek Svatos that guy is bloody hell awesome but he sure killed the Canucks tonight. 2 goals .. from PP.. one sealing the Canucks' fate tonight.

Brutal penalties and PK tonight. Defence was also stinking it up. Instead of LOOKING at Luongo ....HELP HIM OUT! geebus. We also need to get more than one line scoring..seems like we're a one line team. Luongo was the saving grace again - spectacular and gave us a chance to win again but we didn't capitalize. STOP HANGING HIM DRY! It's okay AV will get the boys going again hopefully and im sure we'll be seeing a much much better effort from the Canucks. Cant wait 'til Tuesday when we play the Minnesota "paint drying" Wild.

Hopefully we play much like how we did vs. Detroit and Columbus, and with a more disciplined team, a much much better defence, and get more than one line going to embrace a hard-working deserving victory.

I love how you have nick names for all the teams you played, i beg you not to come up with one for our team, seeing that i'm the only edmonton fan here, you don't wanna bully me do you, haha. I think we've develop an online hockey friendship here, dont' ruin it, haha. I think you guys should get tickets and i'll fly over pay for my share and watch the games with you guys, haha. Meeting online ppl for real, sounds kinda scary, but hey i'll live with it

I really thought you guys were gonna win, it was so close you guys were pretty good, but, well you got beat on your PK 3/8 colorado scored, that's almost 33% that's not that great. Well hope the nuks can pull through, hey guess what oil are playing sharks on thursday, rematch for the sharks and time for us to show who's really on top.

I know it is scary but hey it's all cool I guess - it's not like we're going out on dates or anything. I once read an article but a chick who met a guy on MySpace and actually flew to Virginia where the dude lives and went out together or some shit. I was like what have MySpace turned people these days into? But to be back on topic... hey since we're online hockey buds just sharing our love of the same sport all is cool I love meeting all sorts of people but meeting online ppl have taken this to a whole new different level. I'd like to give this a try.. funny I know ahha .. but hey it's HOCKEY

anyways- haha yeah I love giving nicknames to teams - esp. the ones I hate. I can think of a few for some and no I did not come up with most of them -

    Flames - Flamers, Shames, Lames

    OILERS - Coilers

Avalanche - Crapalanche, Divealanche ( also see http://www.divealanche.com <--hilarious site! gotta love it )

Maple Leafs .. should be an easy one - and the first one that comes to mind is MAPLE LAUGHS

Senators - Senaturds ( lol .. first heard it from some leafers fans and thought it was quite funny )

    Canadiens/Habs - Habnots

Detroit Red Wings - Detroit Dead Wings, Detoilet Dread Wings, Detroit Chicken Wings

LA Kings - (mostly called by Ducks fans) : LA Queens lol

CANUCKS (hurts me to say these) : Casucks, Cansucks, Cannots

i think the best nickname for a team i've ever heard was "re-hab" for the canadiens, the season when they have like 500+ man-games lost to injuries.

trizz i think ur the only other person in western canada to like the penguins lol. whenever i told ppl im a pens fan, they always look at me like i have 2 heads. and when i got my crosby jersey ppl call it a waste of money im glad to find somebody finally who like the pens too.

bah, last game 4 the nucks was brutal. i cant believe w/ mitchell on the team we r still letting ppl take 3/4 shots on rebounds. guys like svatos and wolski should be on their *** b4 they get a shot away. roberto must feel like hes playing for florida again. i think we need some time to perfect the system we play, hopefully in a month we'll see our D laying ppl out in front of our goalies. but bright spot of the team, aside from luongo, was the 1st line. the sedins's cycling the puck was hypnotic. so many times the Avs D would just stand there and watch cuz they dunno where the pucks gonna go. and good to see nazzy score a goal w/ his stick for once but nazzy get out of the way when the twins r cycling!! ur ruining their plays when u try to cycle too!

haha whoa trizz, when did i say i would fly u over? im not dat wealthy. wat i said was we should all go watch the 2010 olympics, hopefully it'll be a Canada game. if u wanna fly over here for an Edm game this yr dat'll be cool too. let us know if ur coming over so we can try to get tix. actually it'll be really fun to take a road trip, drive up to calgary and boo the flames, i would really wanna do dat again haha.

yeah man lets meet at the mid point at calgary, we can boo them there, haha doesn't matter who plays them, vancouver or edmonton, but if its vancouver i'm gonna have to go get a jersey.

the pens "were" awesome when i first started to watch them, that's why i still like them, but back then i hated that jersey, the one that said pittsburgh diagonally down, man it just sickens me and now colorado has one too, I also didn't like their futuristic black jersey too, haha i like the one they have now. I hope they can bounce back and be the dominant team they use to be. I think i also like them cause my first ever hockey card i got was a mario lemieux one and the second was a ron francis when he was with the pens

Gotta love ron francis, but i dont' like the canes, haha.

they'll be a dominant team again soon, w/ crosby, malkin, staal, fleury, whitney, welch and gonchar, im sure they'll turn it around soon. whether they'll still be in pitt i dunno. i love dat jersey w/ the hockey-playing penguin on the front. i just realy like the color scheme on it. the black one is the best. but then again i seem to have unique taste in jersey, since i was one of the few who liked the canucks' salmon red jersey.

u got a lemiuex card? is it his rookie card?

calgary isnt really a "midpoint" for me and kiss, we have to drive 14 hrs to get there . i still think u flying here would be best (for me and kiss anyways lol).

btw, i just realize dat BC have another junior hockey team starting this yr. its call the chilliwack bruins. apparently they won their first game and then lost the next 7. poor bruins, just like the nhl bruins, so bad. we actually have 5 teams in BC now, lol. btw, the giants r kicking some serious ***! 9 games into the season, 9 wins. i hope they win the Memorial cup too! hey kiss, lets get some tix for the Mem cup run!

Guys, show me your love cause I'm going to do something really great for you.

    http://www.sendspace.com/file/kbqax3

Download and install that before it gets deleted. It's an internet tv program. What the big deal is is that it updates channels. Guess what I just found on this program. NHL Center ICE!!! Yes, NHL Center ICE. I live in Calgary and I don't have cable so this is great for me. I'm watching the Nucks Wild game on this program right now.

Btw Kiss - Yes, I did grow up in Vancouver and have moved around everywhere. I kind of like Toronto a lot better than Vancouver, but I still hate the Leafs. Asia is much better, but no hockey though. Didn't matter to me. I still heard hockey via net radio and I downloaded the playoffs when I was there.

I love that idea. That would be splendid. Love the Giants, baby! Undefeated so far - seems like they've been riding that momentum at the end of last season. I don't know - hope the Giants win the Mem this year You remember how awesome Dustin Slade was for us during the run between the pipes? Yeahhh man - although he didn't do so good later vs. the Remparts and Wildcats but hey he did what he had to do and was easily our MVP. Or Gilbert Brule.

Hahah yea.. wow you didn't know there was a new BC WHL team until now? Yea they won the first game on their opener and since then lost all their games :S It's okay they are still a new franchise give 'em some time. I wanted to go to a Giants playoff game vs. Everett Silvetips or Portland Winterhawks last season but then I kinda gave up on that idea for some reason. Tickets were pretty cheap too. Wish I went though. What a year for the boys last season - and I never would've thought they would sweep 2 consecutive series after the first round against Prince George Cougars. Especially Everett which was a strong dominant powerhouse.

I felt so happy when the big ones won and celebrated the WHL championship Too bad they couldn't get the Memorial Cup but I'm sure most Giants fans are extremely proud of the boys' accomplishment and hardwork already by getting this far.

By the way - I didn't know Marek Svatos was an ex-Kootenay Ice. Kinda random .. just wanted to throw that out there.

Besides the Giants, other WHL teams I like are the Kelowna Rockets and the Calgary Hitmen. Kelowna because they were actually the first WHL team I watched when I saw them compete in the Memorial Cup final vs. Guelph Storm (if I remember correctly). As for Calgary Hitmen - I think they have a cool logo and name, not to mention Ryan Getzlaf was the Hitmen's captain and he was a crazy good player. I also like Justin Pogge although he may be overrated.

Anyway - seems like Vancouver's sports teams are finally getting some accomplishments and success. The Giants of last season and this season- and in case you don't know - the Whitecaps won championship About damn time and hopefully Vancouver's favorite team the Canucks - bring Lord Stanley to Vancouver and our fans who have been waiting since forever.

Damnit Nucks lose today 2-1 SO vs. Wild The Wild should be a good team this year that would make the playoffs- an efficient team with talent additions and offensive depth. At least we had some secondary scoring this game - Taylor Pyatt scored a goal - finally someone NOT from our first line. Brendan Morrison scored a beauty I heard in the shootout. GO MO! Hopefully we start winning soon again. Go Canucks Go.

Oh and BaiQ44 - did I mention - you kick ***! thanks for that!

bai qi, U R GOD!! i've been plannin on getting nhl center ice for awhile, u just save me lots of money, thx a bunch.

trizz, mem cup is in van this yr. and i dunno where james went, he disappear during the lockout.

kiss, cant believe u like the hitman, dont 4get where they r from! lol. i went to 3 giants playoff games last season, 2 against portland (which featured hansen, who was very good) and 1 against everett. they shoulda fly me over to quebec to watch the mem cup last yr, cuz by my (approx.) count, they are 9-1 when i attend their games. actually im 30-6 when i watch the nucks live, they should pay me to watch it haha. dustin slade was ok, i didnt think hes THAT great, i think he benefitted playing behind a great team like the giants. otherwise, y did he went undrafted 2 yrs and is still playin in the 'dub' as an overager? i heard he got attitude problem too. i miss brule, he was so dominant in the playoff. but franson is leading the league in pts this yr, as a dman! im so stoked about our team this yr, and watching the mem cup live (if i can get tix). damn it kiss, get a job already so we can go watch some games! lol.

so the nucks finish the road trip w/ a 2-1-1 record. not bad, better then i expected. a few lucky bounces here and there and we could easily be 4-0 rite now. luongo is awesome, still havent got beat by a clean shot in regulation. i hope salo and kesler is ok tho. especially ryan, since concussion is such a serious problem. morrison's goal in SO was nice, but i thot the nazzy's goal is better. next game is the biggest test of the season tho, SJ will be tough to beat, and thornton always plays well against us. let see if luongo can stop them all.

superkarate - I do like the Hitman anyway - is Cody Franson drafted? I love him! Yea I heard many praises for Hansen's solid play from last season. What a steal for a last round pick. Seems like our drafting has been improving since Nonis took up GM. I still remember him stating how weak our drafting has been and he will make changes to improve it. Talking about drafting - Detroit has the best. Zetterberg, Datsyuk, Lidstrom were all late round picks who turned out to be the gems. Islanders aren't bad either - Bertuzzi, McCabe, Hunter, Luongo, Spezza .. just to name a few. Too bad Milbury has his head stuck up his *** all the time. Let's see how Garth Snow does taking up the spot. But the DiPietro 15 yr contract deal just makes me go

Hopefully the Canucks will be able to pull off with a win vs. the Sharks. They are a dominant bunch this year and although offense was efficient already they added 2 cents of threat by acquiring Mark Bell to play in a line with Cheechoo and Thornton. Agreed- Thornton always plays good against us. I remember the last Sharks game last season or the 2nd last - Big Joe had 4 assists and a goal vs. us. He totally dismantled our team.

Hahaha I will try to get a job since I want to earn my own money to buy more clothes, hockey memorabillia and jerseys, and also Canucks and Giants tix.

Ah, Spezza was drafted 2nd overall. He was drafted by the Sens cause the Islanders traded the pick to them. Kovalchuk was the 1st overall draft that year and deservingly so. Bertuzzi was also taken in the first round (granted, late first round). I'm not too sure about the others, but the 2 players I named defiinitely aren't late round picks. I think the Avs of all teams has the best late round picks. New Jersey's ain't too shabby either.

Then you owe me a huge dinner! muwhahahahaha. Btw, it seems like that net tv program only picks up NHL Center Ice only when there are hockey games. If there aren't any, the channel just disappears. Also, it might not last cause that channel wasn't there before the regular season started. Still, it's better than nothing.

I watched the Wild game and was really impressed with Lounguo (who isn't). The only shot that beat him was a fluke. The only concern I have with Roberto is that he overthinks in shootouts. He's great during in-game situations and would just "react" to breakaways, which is good. But, during shootouts, he's got too much time to think. He guesses too much and puts himself out of position a lot. I think AV is denying many factors that the team needs to address. AV needs the team to practice shootouts (it's very important in today's NHL), the PK, and the PP.

edit - I forgot to mention how pissed I am about Kopitar's play. This guy should've been ours, but Nonis and his gang passed up on him. Seeing his play of late really makes me mad. Although Bourdon isn't too bad, Kopitar would've been much better. I remember a couple of years ago, I was pissed that we didn't take Kopitar (who was noted to be a top 6 pick that year). Seems like Kopitar might be the best player of that draft not named Crosby. I was somewhat glad we toke Bourdon when I saw him in the last last training camp, but after seeing Kopitar play in a King's uniform, I much rather the Nucks have him.

If that draft turns out the same way as the Nedved / Jgar draft or the whoever / Brodeur draft, I would be really pissed. We could've had Jgar and Brodeur.... Now, will Kopitar join the lists of "great players the Nucks should've taken".

Oh yeah Kiss, I think Quinn's drafting record as a Nucks GM is much more horrible than any other Nucks GM. He drafted every big guy there was in the first round. I mean: Shawn Antoski, Alex Stojanov, and Jason Hearter, just to name a few. All big useless players and do you know why Quinn drafted Stojanov 7th overall??? It's really stupid. He drafted him 7th overall cause the guy won a fight against Eric Lindros in junior. It's not cause of stats. I mean, come on. Damn good thing we turned that guy into Marcus Naslund.
