im surprised the nucks lost only 2-1, i thot 4 sure the oilers woulda put at least 5 behind our backup. i didnt watch the game, but im glad sabourin settled down after a shaky start, mabbe dat'll give his teammates and coach some confidence in him. altho from the hilites he still look out of place on a couple of saves. oh well, hopefully luongo dont get hurt this yr so we wont have to rely on sabourin so much. any thots on bulis, morrison and cooke? im really curious abot their play cuz i want them to start potting some goals, like really soon! kiss, we've always been a 1 line team, except for last yr, its always been the WCE and 3 3rd lines. this is nothing new, except now we have the IKEA line and 3 4th line, but better goaltending. i still believe we can be successful if morrison and bulis develop some chemistry. and our dmen have to continue to contribute.

im w/ u bq, it makes me happy to see the flyers doing some major sucking this yr. its not like wat clarke did was 'wrong' but i dont like him or the stuff he does. even tho my fav non-canucks player (forsberg) is on dat team, i still want them to do badly. btw, afinogenov had a great game yesterday, his coast-2-coast goal was a hilite reel, makes hatcher looks like a pylon, altho dat doesnt take much these days.

i cant believe u guys like futurama/south park more then family guy. personally i think family guy (especially season 1) is the funniest stuff i've ever seen on tv. but i guess we just have diff preference. i find the grossest thing south park (SP) ever did was when they shovel food up their butt and crap out their mouth. when the parents met at stan's house and they all had cookies w/ their @$$ and poop out their mouth, i fell off my couch laughing! but then some of the stuff they make kenny do was pretty bad too, like when kenny had to crawl up the bus driver's virgina and stay there for 10 hrs. lol. but those gross-ness have nothing on jackass2. if u guys havent seen it, and wanna be grossed out, i highly recommand it.

family guy sux now, just like the simpsons they got stupid.

simpsons season 1-10 is great awesome, then from 11 on it just sucked. family guy is a copy off simpsons they had a good run with season 1, it was really good, then they just sank lower than the simpsons. american dad, ok this one is even more stupid. it's like family guy season 2 but like really really really bad. Futurama and south park are definetly better than all the above, futurama better cause well it's in the future and they can never run out of things to talk about. South park is basically more geared around current events and the satire of the show is hilarious.

Kiss -- our chinese population is not that big, but it's growing pretty fast its scary, back then theres like 1 asian in like 50 ppl, now it's like 1 asian in 20 ppl, well that's where i am usually at. there are places with like dense dense population of asians. We get fairchild tv and we have to order talent. we get the vancouver version, back then it was the calgary version, but they closed down their network and just produce that one show revolved all around calgary and call it alberta one on one i think. that's such BS, they may have like 20% more chinese ppl than we do and a bit more events so that means the whole show revolves around their crappy city, BS. OILERS FOR THE WIN. FLAMES SUX.. ne ways during the calgary playoff run they kept saying stuff about calgary, and during the oilers playoff run there was nothing about the oilers, but isn't the show about alberta. ne ways, yeah we watch what you guys watch at the same time so 1 hour later. I have satellite so i get the toronto channel too, so same thing but i dont get the vancouver news, but the toronto news and well i get the shows 2 hours earlier this time. I am more into my own culture and language than most asians my age who was born here. so we're CBC's, well yeah i always wanted to live either in toronto or vancouver cause the chinese population is so dense, living in hk is also good too, but i don't know anyone there. As for being multicultural, quite frankly, lately theres a lot of indians and middle eastern ppl in edmonton everywhere and throw in the LARGE LARGE italian community and ukrainian community. other than chinese -- meaning oriental, the vietnamese are mostly related to chinese, the koreans and japanese are like in chinatown too, and they all know a bit of chinese, well theres not much difference --, ukrainian, italian, and middle eastern the rest of the city is pretty much miscellaneous and small.

superkaratemonkey -- i got your back, a lot of ppl here are like big leila tong fans, including me, she's so HOT and her acting is awesome, if wish my future girlfriend looks like her. oh there is this one girl who takes the same bus as i do and when i first saw her she looked a bit like leila, and i had my eyes on her for quite sometime, i was thinking, no way, she can't look that much like leila, then when she turned to face me i was so embarassed and turned away, haha. i told my friends the next day and well they went on the bus with me and confirmed my suspision that girl does look like leila, haha neways that's my little adventure after school. nothing exciting, well now that i see that girl almost everyday i can tell you she doesn't look like leila anymore, haha, and i don't talk to strangers on the bus so dont' ask me for phone numbers and names and pictures and all that.

I laughed when i heard philly lost 9-1 i was like dont' lie to me they can't lose that bad, look back at the scoresheet i was amazed. buffalo is really the team to beat now, they are almost invincible i wonder how long this streak is gonna last.

I don't like Leila - well I'm actually neutral about her right now - but somehow I still don't really like her. Although she does have very pretty eyes. Gosh everytime you go on you never remind me to send you Face to Fate! Guess what now? I deleted them because there were practically sitting there doing nothing but wasting my space on my computer. We're going WAAAYYY offtopic - so back to hockey

Sabourin was shaky at first but settled down. He also made a sweet glove breakaway save vs. Jarret Stoll near the end of the 3rd. Give him sometime - so far he looks decent to me. AV juggled with some lines yesterday's game to try out some new combos. He had Markus Naslund play with Jan Bulis and Morrison - Taylor Pyatt and Morrison - and Josh Green and Matt Cooke. But didnt have anything going. He's best with the Sedins. I hope Morrison, Bulis and Pyatt finds some chemistry later on so we have some secondary scoring. Bulis - has the skills of a scorer and a pretty good shot- but he can just never seem to put it behind the net. Give it some time I hope he's able to find his game, start putting pucks behind the net, produce some good chemistry with Mo and Pyatt and contribute to secondary scoring besides the Swedes.

superkarate and BaiQ44 - I know you guys love how the Flyers are suckin' it up right now. Karma sure has come and bit Clarke and his team in the asss. To tell ya the truth, I hate Clarke too - for screwing up our cap when he knows we're in a tight cap situation - and made us waste that 1 million. But how his team are sucking it up right now really has nothing to do with him so I kinda feel bad for the guys there. It's just his fault. But again - I won't deny that for some reason I feel a slight sense of joy about it as well. I like the Flyers' team, but Clarke can go to hell.

Sabres are truely the team to beat this year. Same with Minny but Buffalo is currently the new powerhouse domination of the league. Solid goaltending, a packed and deadly offense which is probably the best of the NHL right now and decent defense. The best offense is actually the best defense - seems to be best describing and the motto of the Sabres' this year as of now.

Sigh if only we had half their offense. One can dream right?

I remember this time last year before last season began, everyone inlcuding the so called experts picked the Sabres to be an awlful team cause they didn't do anything in the off-season to sign big name players. I remember at the time, the GM of the Sabres said he was going out and sign some players and then realized that every GM in the NHL was an idiot (he didn't say it directly) by signing players to ridiculous contracts so he opted not to sign anyone not worth his value. What he did and the outcome for his teams was truly admirable. What Clarke did last year was signed Hatcher and Rathjie, two guys who are pylons and many people figured would not fit the new NHL. Of all GMs who's adjusted well to the new NHL, Darcy Regier did the best. Speedy, skill teams who develope from within are the successful ones.

Anyway, Bob Clarke put Baumer, Nedved and some other dude on waivers today. Baumer would be a better fit than Fitzpatrick for the Nucks, especially on the 2nd PP unit, but at that price, Clarke can have him.

As for the Nucks. It's so painfully obvious that we can't score outside of the three guys. Our forwards lack creativity whatsoever. I saw a little bit of creativity from Morrison in the 1st of the two Edmonton games, zero from him and the other 8 forwards in all the other games. Our 9 forwards remind me of the Sedins in their first couple of years. They take the puck to the offensive zone, hold it there for a while without ever thinking of going to the net, get check off the puck, chase the puck from an opposing player into our zone, get the puck to the neutral zone, change lines, then repeat.... they keep doing this till the Sedin line comes out.

Btw Monkey, in years past, our secondary scoring was our defense. As much as I hated Jovo's defensive abilities, he was good for offensive contribution. Crawford let's his d-men jump up in the rush a lot. In this season, I only see this from Salo and the odd time from Ohlund and Bieksa. Our 9 forwards are useless when it comes to offense so I rather the d-men jump up more cause Salo and Ohlund and maybe Bieksa have more offensive capabilities than our 9 forwards combined it seems.

Well, it'll be a lot better if we could get Baumer for $600, but we can't. oh yea, a big NO to baumer. at $1.6M we can do alot better (trade for vishnovski for one). honestly, at this rate bieksa will out score baumer's number from last yr. i think offsense from our d isnt a big issue, ohlund and salo are given, bieksa is doing better then expected, and krajicek while goalless had been able to create lots of chances. in fact i think lucas had been a present surprise, joinin the rush well and QBing the PP admirably. if we have money, spend it on a scoring forward. we have good offense from our 1st line and d, just give morrison and bulis somebody to work w/ and we'll be fine.

btw, malkin scored his first goal in his first game. so HA! to all you doubters! lol jk. but yea i really think he'll win the ROY.

calgary will bounce back, i hate to say it, but they will, once tanguay gels into their team they're gonna come storming back, remember last year when they lost like 7 games to begin the season, they came back to win the division. Minnesota is unreal right now, i think this is the year that we can see colorado not making the playoffs, they got a great team, but then yeah they're not what they use to be, sakic is still good but old. Hejduk is just not hejduk anymore and their young guys need to grow b4 they can bring the team back on tracks. as always 10 years of good fortune 10 years of bad fortune, guess it's time for them to go down a bit and let the previous underdogs come back up. Its a trend for most hockey teams, they're really good for a period then they start sucking then they're good again

I can't give out the links here cause if TVB ever finds out about it, it'll be bad news for everyone. I'll pm you later. Leila's in both versions. I remember her from two TVB series. One is State of Divinity 96 and that was one of the best Jin Yong adaptations of all time. Monkey, in case you don't know who Jin Yong is, he's the guy who also wrote the novel for HSDS 03 (another JY adaptation). Oh yeah, I'm also a big wuxia fan. The other one is named "Nam Yan 40 1 Dou Ka" with Adam Cheng. I just realized something when I did a google search on Leila... She was also in my all-time favorite TVB series, Greed of Man. She was 8 at the time, but played one of Lau Dai Yan's daughters. It was her first TVB series and ironically enough, also with Adam Cheng. I just remember which one she is. I've got that series. As for talking about condoms... I think it's better to use them then to talk about them.

haha funny thing is how i got into this forum was because i was looking up jing yong, haha. I initially started posting there then i moved down to open debate then i found a thread on hockey and lone behold i have met my peers who share the same interests as me, i think you shouuld PM me too, haha, i remember seeing her in old old series, she was a child actress right?? haha.

flames did bounce back after a bad start last yr, but they had sutter behind the bench. hes a great coach, i think he was able to get the most out of a talent-thin lineup last yr. playfair im not convinced can do dat. i guess we'll wait and see.

bq, thx for the links, i swear im gonna be glued to my comp w/ all the good stuff im d/l off u guys. haha of course i know who jin yung is! my mom had all his books on the shelf. i actually spent a summer readying a few of them. dats how i got hooked to wuxia stories and stuff. my fav is HSDS, probably y i like HSDS03 so much (altho the pretty ladies didnt hurt ), i also like LOCH94 alot, the one w/ athena chu (omg she used to be so hot too!). i guess nobody is a 'malkin doubter' altho kiss and trizz didnt think malkin will run away w/ the ROY. im just a huge malkin fan, so anybody who dont agree w/ me dat malkin is gonna win ROY i classify them as 'doubters'. yea i classify ppl, i admit. lol

Thanks for the effort, but I already have the whole series downloaded as of today. The torrent route is too slow so I went the direct download route. When I want something bad, I always get it.

wow, didn't know so many hockey fans here were JY fans as well. I can bet you guys one thing... My knowledge of JY novels is much deeper than you guys. Oh yeah, Romance of The Three Kingdoms is also a great book, not JY of course. But JY did borrow a lot of his ideas from that book.

BQ -- well i'm not a fast reader when it comes to chinese, so i haven't gone through much JY stuff, i also like Gu Long, his stuff are way easier to read in my opinion. Who was that author who wrote twins of brother, i think his stories are like borderline WuXia, WuXia is sorta believable, there are elements in there that are definelty made up. but twins of brother, oh my that was just way off the chart of reality, it was too fake, the special effects were good, the storyline was creative but if classifying it with other WuXia shows and books i think it's after JY and Gu Long for sure

kiss - the link you put up, its in duo sound, mandarin and canto, what did you guys use to play it? looks kinda weird, but i'll give it a try, haha

superkaratemonkey -- JY books here are expensive i'm reading it off my computer screen it strains my eyes, i stopped, haha couldn't find any books in vancouver, well richmond in aberdeen centre? I really have no clue what happened to everyone i remember just you, james and me, was there any others? then i was like gone for a year after the World Cup of Hockey, i was trying to get good grades to get into uni. and now i'm in uni and i have a laptop i get more time with the forum and well when the oilers were in the finals, most of my exams were over and i'm back. haha. Then came kiss or did she came during my absence, well doens't matter and now we have 4, haha. Malkin is good, but i dont' know man, last year's ROY race was pretty tight, this year no doubt about it Malkin is gonna win, but in comparision to last year, i dont' see him being super successful like crosby and ovechkin. GO SCRHEMP. hey guys and gals, haha i think you guys should really check out smid on our team and thoresen, kiss may hate the oilers but these guys are improving every game and smid just looks so comfortable, he's almost like a veteran.
