well dats a first 4 u guys then. i heard macT said on sportsnet news dat hes gonna "do some bad things" to the vets, or something along dat line. mabbe benching them? or give them a bag skate? either way its not good news for the oilers, not a good start to the road trip.

well i don't know what MacT is gonna do. Torres started playing like how he does when he's hot: physical. Then williams gets wiped out. Horcoff is setting up plays but no one is connecting. Lupul is shooting but it won't go in. Tjarnqvist is already benched. Smid and Hedja looks good. Thoresen not so magnificent anymore. Smyth is on the Sykora Hemsky line, that looks good. Stoll is ok. Pisani lost his magic. Roloson is the only one whos good. The rest of the team are gonna be pounded, I dont think a trade is needed, but I think a big wake up call and that underdog mentality can really help

Canucks got SHUTOUT by the fcking Ducks today 6-0 I just HATE the Ducks more and more now. Fckers can go to hell EXCEPT GETZLAF. I like Scotty Nieds and Teemu Selanne too. GETZ SCORED AGAINST US TODAY :O ooh what pain. On the other hand, Ducks just set a new bar for the record of entering the season playing consecutive games with no loss in regulation and crushed the 83-84 Oilers' record.
Although I don't like Oilers - I didn't want the Ducks to break that record. Not an American team that finds it hard to attract fans. I rather have the record kept by the Oilers, a Canadian based team, that was a true dynasty back in the 80's with the likes of some of the game's greats - Gretzky, Messier, Kurri, Fuhr, Coffey.. etc. and not some crummy idiotic loser ex-Disney douchebag DUCKS (minus Getzlaf) that aint nothing special.

I used to think the Ducks were okay - no not the Ducks - the MIGHTY DUCKS. But until Burke took up their management and turned that team into a beast that came to bite us in the asss and completely shelled us matchup after matchup I HATED them. I was okay with the old mighty ducks team that had Kariya in it as KARIYA was in it and hes cool. I officially HATE Ducks now. Cant believe I rooted for them vs. Oilers :O although against the Flames is pretty self-explanatory - .. FLAMES.

hope we'll do better soon. GO CANUCKS GOOO

blah, wif dat lineup on D i didnt expect to win anyways. just put dat one aside and hope salo comes back for sat. didnt watch the game, but if theres one to miss this is it. stupid getzlaf got 2 goals. to easy tap in goals dat his linemates set up. once again living up to his status as a leech. luongo tho HAVE to be better. $6.8M per yr he gotta start stealing us games. i dont necessarily mean tonite, and he stole the last one for us against the stars, but we lost too many 1 goal games when we out work the other teams. wif mitchell out long term luongo have his work cut out for him.

game on sat vs the flames is a must win IMO. keep the flames down and keep us in a better position. we cant let this home stand goes to waste. go nucks go.

He's only gonna get better and sooner or later he's gonna be real real good. Kunitz looks like a monkey but I'll take it that the guy's a real deal. I like Scotty Nieds too as well as TTeeeemuuu.

i dont hate getzlaf either but i say he sux cuz u keep picking on leila and ur mean to me. im actually kinda surprised dat getzlaf is doing better so far then perry. perry had all the hype coming into the league after ripping the OHL apart and winning the memorial cup, he was supposed to be a big time scorer. whereas getzlaf was supposed to be the lesser skill player. but so far its the opposite. dont get me wrong, getzlaf still sux, but hes sucking less then perry.

oilers won today, even tho its against the bluejackets, still its not all bad 4 u guys. u guys r tie in pts wif us and have 1 game in hand. i just traded for hemsky in my hockey pool so i hope he start doing good hehe. dammit the flames beat the ducks tonite, ending their record pt streak. looks like flames r starting to turn things around. not good since we play them tmw.

I got briere, hemsky, sykora, carle, lebda, aleexev and biron. hemsky and sykora score big points for me. i don't hate getzlaf, but kiss you keep bringing it up, its getting to a point of almost annoyance, you can drop it and stop mentioning his name in every post, we get the poitn you love the guy. but i agree with monkey, i'm surprised he's that good. I thought kunitz would have a better season, no doubt about it that kunitz, getzlaf, perry and penner are gonna be stars, but i thought kunitz may have had the better hands and legs.

I know this is a hockey thread but i know we have a lot of vancouverites here. So who's going to the Western Final? If you guys didn't get a ticket, you should. BC Place is a wicked place to be when there's a lot of ppl.

Since this is a hockey thread, I better put some input. It's hard for me to concentrate on the nucks this time around since it's CFL playoffs but I do listen to everygame at work. Even though our PP was good against calgary, it still needs more improvement. Sedins are the only ones that can get some offense going. Everybody from the 2nd line and down worries me.

Well, since all the hockey fans are posting in here, I might as well.

Tonight was typical of what our season has been. Totally outworked the other team and couldn't score more than two goals. Nonis is an idiot if he thought signing a bunch of rejects other teams didn't want would help our scoring. We all saw it coming from the preseason. He should've taken my advice and gone after Bondra. Lunogo so far is not a good investment at $6.75 mill cap hit. I rather we have a capable goalie like Auld and at least 2 scoring lines instead of one scoring line and a goalie who's not playing up to his potential.

What's worse is Nonis signed a bunch of guys to multi-year deals. I questioned the signing of Santala to a one-way contract and Karate said he could be send down to the farm if he doesn't work out. Usualy, that's not how one way contracts work. He could be send down, but it'll be like the GM admitting he's made a mistake and blew $450,000 for nothing. Not many GMs are willing to do that. How the hell did Chournard signed a mult-year contract of $1.1 million is beyond me. Nonis has like $34 million tied up next season and the cap might drop down because of the low attendance around the league. This team is down right pitiful. It's got loads of effort, but no talent whatsoever. Josh Green works his butt off every night and all he's shown for it this season is two goal posts. I don't care how hard a player works. If he can't finish, then he's not worth the investment.

Anyway, enough whinning from me.

haha man u just keep stabbing me in the back eh? lol its all good, i like the little war between me and kiss. besides, getzlaf does sux, so the more she mention getzlaf the more i can remind her how crappy he is.

yea i think nonis made some questionable signings, and they r biting him in the butt now. choiunard and santala r a waste of cap space, kesler and cooke is not earning their paycheque, mo and bulis is disappointing as heck. the only + i see out of this is that we dont have to be handcuff by those contracts IF nonis really wanna rebuild. we've already saw dat morrison have some value, so he can be moved. bulis, santala, linden are gone after this yr. we just have to take kesler to arbitration and somehow dump chouinard and we'll be fine. if the cap really does come down we mite hve to dump nazzy too, but i doubt it comes to dat. hopefully nonis learn from this summer and be smarter about signings (ie: dont sign former minnesota players).

i duno wats wrong w/ nazzy tho, he had SO MANY CHANCES against the flames and cant bury them. i even thot dat if pyatt was playing w/ the twins he mite get a couple more goals. we need our captain to earn his paycheque and lead this team. stupid kipper was insane tho. definitly won the goaltending duo yesterday.

almo- did u goto the game? i heard its near sold out. it must've been rocking in there wif 50k ppl! its not everyday when hockey take a back seat to other sports in this city, but the lions r the talk of the town nowadays and deservingly so. so how did they do? too bad simon came just short of the record too, dat would've been quite an accomplishment. whens the greg cup final? is it in winnipeg or am i imagining things again?

NOBODY should sign ex-wild players. your team is a prime example of that, haha. Then i should also think of our team, roloson and tjarnqvist. tjarnqvist is not that bad, but we have too many defensive defencemen, and we let in too many goals, we dont' have that team work thing going on for us, it's stupid

ack, lost again. the winning goal was kinda weak, but luongo made lots of huge saves throughout the game so it evens out.
damn the wings dont give u much offensively at all. so good on the forecheck

He wouldn't have to made those saves if he didn't let that weak goal in cause the teams would be playing more cautious and for overtime.

Anyway, the man isn't worth $6.7 mill cap hit cause that salary is handicapping us to get scorers... That, and the fact that Nonis signed a bunch of pluggers to be goal scorers.

I was talking about Luongo not worth $6.7 mil. Naslund isn't worth his $6 mill either. But I think Lunogo is a real hypocrite though. He said he wouldn't sign with the Panthers for a lot of $$$ cause he wanted Keenan to improve that team first. However, Lunogo signing a $6.7 mill cap hit isn't exactly helping the Canucks to be a better team cause we don't have the cap space to get good scorers now.

i dont agree dat luongo is handicappin this team with his salary, i mean theres lots of other players gettin paid more, but their team is still highly successful (ex: lidstrom in det, iginla in cal, richards in tb, just to name a few). the problem is not luongo's pay cheque, but his play as of late. we keep losing by 1 goal, and luongo seem incapable of shutting the door and winning us those 1 goal games like hes supposed to. he was doing it in the Oct when we were above .500, but in Nov he havent been the difference maker, thus we lost 7 of 8. its simple, if naslund and luongo plays like the $6M men they are, we'll be fine. if not we r doomed.
also it wouldnt hurt if some of our other forwards start chippin in offensively either. i hate to rag on them cuz they try so hard out there, but we need result and we aint gettin any. we r also the 2nd most unlucky team this yr (behind chi) wif all the deflection goals and bad calls goes against us.
