hey how did u get tix? how much was it and where did u sit? wat a game, it was alittle boring in OT but like wang said u got your money worth. luongo looks shaky on a few shots, but he looks great otherwise. nazzy played like a true captain tho, scoring a goal and setting up another. if he can keep it up and the sedins continue to dominate, we'll finish off dallas pretty quick. hey i heard some of the concession stands were closed during OT, is dat true? must suck to be in there for so long w/o food or drink
Yeah i love almo as you can tell by my user ID. His 5 hole shot was so dangerous. I don't think i remember a almo deke on a breakaway. The media portrays almo as an A-hole as he's not that media friendly, but apparently he's suppose to be a very nice guy. He seems like one of those down to earth type of ppl.

I got my tickets off eBay. It was those print out tickets. I told the seller i was an eBay employee. So pretty much that means if he scams me, there will be hell to pay

I was sitting in the upper bowl centre ice. Tix were about 146 dollars each. OT wasn't boring when ur there. It's quite tense cause it's sudden death. This is the best part about playoff hockey. I love the continous OT. I really hope they don't touch this part of the game. Playoff hockey is the most pure hockey we get to see all year. Yeah conession stands were closed after the 3rd. I was thirsty as hell. There was like a hundred ppl lining up at the water fountains so i just said screw it. Louie was shaky, but he was Fuhr like in OT. Nazzy was crazy. He was dishing checks left right centre. When he was carrying the puck across the blueline, he looked dangerous for once.

I will come back for the playoffs just to even out the Nucks fans / Flames fans ratio. Actually, more like to overwhelm them. Even though I was and might be stuck in Calgary again, I still hate the Flames!

4, almost 5 OTs is insane. The game is starting and hopefully, it won't go that long. Not that I don't enjoy a long OT game on the weekends (no work), but I fear that either victor of this series will have no gas left by round 2.

whoa, $146 for a upper bowl tix? dats pretty steep, altho u did get to see 7 periods of hockey. somebody told me they got tix from ticketmaster, dat for some reason they have a bunch of tix up for sale. too bad by the time i found out its all gone.

dammit we lost tonite! dallas defense is air tight, if they take the lead they'll trap u to death. if we wanna win this series we have to stronger in the 1st period. im not sure y, but dallas seems to have more energy, and it wasnt until the 3rd dat we took the play to them. if we play the whole game like we did the 3rd period we would've won. oh well, hopefully we learned our lesson and win the next (3) games. btw, i was pleasantly surprise by hansen, i thot he fit into the lineup really well. his speed and passing ability is nhl quality, he just need to get stronger on his legs and keep his head up, he'll be a good 2nd liner for us down the road.

BQ- good to see u back. hope u stay longer than just the playoff. as to the team running out of gas, i think they'll worry about dat when they actually gets to round 2. if u watch the other series, they r more physical so they'll probably be pretty beaten up too, in the long run i think it'll even out.

This will be a tight series. We need to split it in Dallas.

    Okotoks?

I'm not really a fan of the Flames style of play...despite them having one of my favorite players of all-time Jeff Friesen. Glad to hear that you've been cheering for them a while though. The majority of Flames' fans are bandwagoners and start abandoning and belittling their team after they lose a game. Not what I call real supporters of their team in my opinion. According to the news reporters in the pubs, most of those so called enthusiastic fans stopped watching the game after a couple of goals and either left or started doing their own thing.

I don't think there is a bigger bandwagon city than vancouver. Majority of the so called canuck fans didn't watch any hockey prior to the Bertuzzi Nazzy era.

I watched hockey prior to the Bure era. Hell, I just missed the season Tony Tanti scored 45 goals by a year or two.

Any Canucks (or hockey) fans remember these Nuckie players?

    Petri Skriko
    Tony Tanti
    Garth Butcher
Brian Bradley (yes, he was a Nuck before he became a Bolt).
    Doug Lidster
    Paul Reinhart
    Greg Adams
    Greg C. Adams

My first playoffs was when Nucks vs the heavily favored Flames in 89. That series was great. No cheesy penalties (like in 94, but unlike this year). Whenever the Nucks play the Flames in the first round of the playoffs, it's always a war and either team always end up going to the cup finals (and sometimes winning it).

Btw, as good of a Canuck as Linden has been in the past (he gave the best playoff performance a Nuck player has ever given in game 7 of the 94 finals), I really wished we had drafted Sakic that year instead. Not only because he turned out to be a great player, but because he's a Vancouver boy.

Serious? Not even the Ronning, Courtnall, Linden and Bure era? LoL With the success of Geroy and company, there should be some BC Lions jersey roaming around eh?

But seriously, there were barely any Flames fans until that Cinderella run. And now you see the red and black jersey all over the place. Where's the old retro jerseys? Ah! They never bought one since they just became fans a couple years ago.

Sadly, that's true. From the mid-90s until 2004, I was a rare breed, even within Calgary. In the last 3 years, Flames fans have been crawling out of the woodwork. I'm not really objecting to it. It's nice to have others cheering with you. I will give that to Oilers fans; most have been a lot more faithful to their team.

I used to have an old Flames jersey. It got lost when I moved....

to be fair, the flames suck major asses until their big run. tough to draw new fans w/ a losing team, dat applies to every city except mabbe toronto. now dat the flames r competitive and entertaining, its not surprising to see more newbie (non-hardcore) fans.

kinda the same here in bc. back in the messier era, the nucks have to give away tix to fill half the seats, and nobody watches them on tv. i still remember the mid 90s, the bc lions draws about 5000 ppl to games. theres not many hardcore fans around, but when the team is winning, every town seems like a major sports town.

BQ, i heard the nucks had a 2nd chance to acquire sakic. after the 94 run, quebec needing leadership offer sakic for linden straight up. nucks turn it down becuz linden was so good in the playoff. so the nordiques turn around and trade sundin for wendel clark. looks like a blunder now, considering the way sakic's career turned out, but im really glad we turned linden into bertuzzi (which became luongo) and mccabe (which became a sedin).

I think the most faithful fans have got be the Saskatchewan Roughriders and Edmonton Oilers' fan base. No matter if they're an elite team or struggling with mediocrity, they still cheer their team on and fill the seats.

I'm actually a die hard Lions fan. Been going to games since I was a kid. I knew what football was b4 I knew what hockey was. I'm glad the Lions are doing good. I went through the Damon Allen years in the 90s and everybody making fun at me in school cause i was a lions fan.

You should be hating Jermaine Copeland and company for calling out Geroy. Seems like everyone hates the Riders outside Rider fans. LOL.

I go for the green and gold and the copper and blue, but since they've been sucking this year i'm gonna have to watch other teams, but still those rider fans aren't that cool anyways.

hahaha i don't care about Jermaine Hopeless and Trick Lewis. Geroy didn't even need to do anything but have a big game right after those comments.

Interesting choices to cheer for...the Esks and Bum...ahem I mean Bombers? LOL, just joking with ya. I heard the Esks got a hold of Stefan LeFors. I think he's going to be a star in the making if given the chance. And what about Timmy Chang? The Ti-Cats got themselves a good throwing QB...and Asian too. Man...we need a CFL thread. I'm gonna start one when training camp starts.

damon allen was the only lions i liked until dickenson came over. allen was really good, if it wasnt for him the lions wouldnt have won any games. i was sad to see him leave, altho i thot it was time for him to hang it up. i think he held on for alittle too long.

anyways, back to hockey. so glad my nucks won game 3. it was huge, we took home ice back. and we won it dispite getting outplayed for the 1st 40 mins. luongo is impressing me more everytime i watch him. he knows we cant score much, so he basically shut the down shut on dallas. aside from close in deflections/redirections, the stars havent score a clean goal on him since game 1. i know van will get killed by the ducks/sharks/preds in the 2nd round even if we make it past dallas, we need to start playing a full 60 mins game.

tough break for kesler tho, just came back from hip surgery and now he broke his figure and out for 5 wks. we need cooke back, even tho hansen had been really good. cookie's bodychecks can really get the team going, and i think we need something like dat to jump start us in some games. the jannik/jan duo need to keep us their play and take some heat off the top line.

dammit, stupid devils keep losing! costing me so much money stupid brodeur looks like cloutier on some of the goals (and his stats so far). oh well, at least the flames r getting raped pretty badly hehe

*sigh* As a Flames fan, it's so frustrating watching them right now. You can analyze play-by-play to death, but basically, it comes down to who wants to win, and the Flames certainly don't look like they want to win. And what gives with all the penalties last game? Many of them were just terrible calls. And some of them, well, we need some discipline ppl!!

Well, GO FLAMES GO!!! for the next game (but that won't stop me from crossing my fingers also. )

I agree that it does come down to who wants to win and who has the belief that they will win. I saw game 2 and the red wings came out wanting to play and wanting to win. I think that was the major difference in the beginning. I think that it is the difference between this wings team and the previous one. This one wants to win because of all the disappointments.

Sorry, I don't mean to be mean but Go RED WINGS!

Damon was not clutch enough. 1999 West Final will forever be remembered in my head. Fumbling on the last drive. If he didn't fumble, Lui would have come on and kicked the winning FG. How many times did we see Allen get over 300 yards passing and still lose a game? Also, Allen didn't sell any tickets.

Back to hockey, good to see the Nuckers grind it out. Once Bulay scored, his line with Mo and Hansen was on fire. You could see the Canucks play more physical too. Nazzy looks good with the twins because he's throwing his body around which he didn't do in the regular season when they were on a line. Can't wait till game 4.
