I think he's the best "Ling Wu Chong"..........his should be the considered the classic over Chow Yun Fat's portrayal.

    Oh hell yeah!!!.

Ling Wu Chong's down to earth , smart, playfulness, heroic, friendly , takes thing easy, loyal characteristics all been protrayed well by jackie lui. Its the most balanced ling wu chong

Too bad not everyone considers so......

I wonder if it is mostly out of respect that people praise Chow Yun Fat for Ling Wu Chong or sincerely from their heart that they consider him better than Jackie Liu?!

My opinion is "out of respect".....

    i dont remember 96 version
but i like the old version even if chow yun fat's acting suck like ppl say
i like the 80s actors, they seem more pretty and handsome.. like jamie chik WOW

the other actors and actress are good to, the costume is nice also. i guess i'm not judging it acting wise but i like the music (theme songs), the costumes, and actors better in the 80s version.

Jackie Liu was clearly good as Ling Wu Chong. Unfortunately though, he is not so popular as an actor.

True, he was good. but he dosent really "look" like a LHC IMO. He did potray a very convincing role though.

Well there is a VCD set for sale but it's dubbed in Thai. Apparently, there is no Chinese version on VCD right now.

You should see him in Who's the Winner 1 (ATV) with Nathan Chan and Joey Meng. His character in there is brilliant, cunning, smart, smooth, and his facial expressions are so awesome. He can act all cold hearted and switch to caring very well.

I think Jackie Lui was a ATV actor and only did a few TVB series. Now I've seen him acting for Taiwan and mainland.

Last year , theres a rerun of jackie's XAJH in mainland then at the same time jackie is filming a tv serial in mainland. The reporters asked him of his feelings over watching his old yet famous serial. He said ' it feels like the filming for SOD is done only just yesterday but it had been 8 years'

SOD is my favorite wuxia novel and LWC is my favorite wuxia hero. I watch all of the SOD expect for Chow Yun Fat version. Jackie Lui is also my favorite LWC. But my favorite RYY is Anita Yuen. I picture them when I'm reading the story. I also picture Brigette Lin as DFBB, she was the best. I think that the rest a SOD production are that bad either. The one with Richie Ren had a lot of A-list actor like Norman Tse and David Cheung, the re-telling of the story was OK, and the supporting casts was great. As for Richie himself I bought him as LWC more that CLH. LWC isn't suppose to be handsome unlike CLH. The Mainland one, I like the scenery and it seem to have a lot more kung fu scene than the other ones, and LYP was pretty good, again LWC isn't suppose to be handsome, like GJ. Which bring me to Jackie Lui version, it been while since I watch it. I though he was the most good looking of all LWC beside Jet Li. I guess that why I like his version of LWC so much. My only problem with this version was Fiona Leung, (I must apologize to all her fan) )I just didn't find her very appealing.

Jackie Lui's State of Divinity has to be the most underrated TVB series ever. It's seriously like the MOST awesome adaptation of XAJH ever, and yet not many people seemed to have watched it
