Those were great pics of Steve Ma. I went to the link but too bad I can't read Chinese. What is the event about with Ning Jing?
By the way, how is his personal life? Just curious.....![]()

He looks nice in those pictures but I heard he has a bad temper.
Be nice, say hello. HELLO !!
Cool. So that means he and Amy are the same age. They would make such a good couple. HAHA!
I think he looks kinda mean sometimes. Or maybe its his cold hard stares.
Never mind. You can still read some info from Sheren Tang's forum:Originally Posted by bubcas

I just know some basic chinese. That event might be Mo Jie/Waterworld/Demonworld press conference, I reckon.Originally Posted by bubcas
His personal life? It is a hardest thing to say b/c language barrier is a matter & interfering his private life is another. So before you read it, bear in your mind that some misinterpretations might be included. Please do not presume that below info is entirely correct.
He is the eldest son, has a younger bro & a sis. According to a freind of mine, his bro is called Ma Jing Hao, also an actor, a good-looking guy. When he was in secondary school, he moved to 3 different secondary schools b/c as a quiet, reserve, skinny young lad, he was bullied by the student gang stars everyday.
After he graduated from Taipei University? he joined a TV broadcasting department & served as an assistant cameraman? He attended a year certificate course in Europe or in the UK. He then has an opportunity to became an actor. His movie debut was Wong Jing's Funny Faces. His 1st TV series was "Stars Know My Heart Part 2" filmed in 1984. he started famous in 1990 due to his 2 series called "Who Kill Super Star [co-star Liu De Kai]" & "Spring Comes Spring Goes [co-star Demain Liu, producer Yang Pei Pei]" were well accepted by many audiances back then in Taiwan.
He featured in Arthur Miller's play called "The Death of a Salesman" in 1992. Due to the success of Heaven Sword & Dragon Sabre 1994 that achieved highest rating, he became even more popular. He has a daughter called Ma Shi Ai [his treasure]. He & his [ex] wife divorced in 1993. She doesn't want him to tell their private life to the public. They were introduced by their freind, as one of his hobbies is drawing and she in return is an artist, runs a painting shop.
Regarding his marriage, he always feels a deep sympathy for his ex-wife. He said he was always away from home, busy with tight shooting schedules so on a Valentine Day he gave a lovely doggie to her [he meant it to be his presence while he was away from home]. While shooting Between Water & Cloud in 1993, he received a call from her [she was crying on the phone] informing that little doggie was dead......she felt very lonely b/c he's never be at her side when she needed him so she requested him to get divorce.
He said that he worked so hard was to provide a better life for them [both mother & daughter].....but the most important thing in a woman's life is her man to be at her side & that was what he's lacking of his duties so he feels very sorry for her. When they got divorce, his father-in-law was seriously ill. His wife had to look after her father & at the same time had to run her business so she was unable to take care of their little daughter. This way he became a single dad, raising up their daughter with the help of his mum.
He then met a model as well as an actress who portrayed as his martial arts sister in one of his shows. Their friendship eventually changed & in love with each other. She always comforted him when he was blue & distress. She helped him quite a lot. She took care of his little daughter when he was busy. When they broke off, life seemed meaningless to him so he considered comitting sucide but as he also thought about his little daughter, his mum, his love & responsibilities as a father & a son, he didn't do it. His dad passed away before he finished shooting HSDS 1994 plus at that time he wasn't at his dad side. That's made him really sad. Then again he met Yu Li & broke off around 1999.

ejc999-Thanks for the great info on Steve Ma. Always good to know more about your favorite actor.Since I can't read chinese, I have no where to find out more about him. He is my fav actor since 1998 after watching him in The Good Old Days.
I also heard before that he is quite difficult to work with during shooting. When he was acting in The Good Old Days with Amy Chan, they actually can't get along and they don't talk except during the acting. But amazingly, despite they don't talk to each other, their chemistry in The Good Old Days is excellent.![]()
Is HSDS with him starring in Kathy Chow and Yip Toong, is it in Mandarin?

I started know him in 1998 too but in one of ATV’s Justice Pao cases. Since then I noticed his charisma & like him. I love his character very much in there, very unique. I have had chances to know about him in some media formats from various sources since 2000, & these make me admire him as a person.Originally Posted by bubcas
I didn’t complete watchin’ TGOD b/c I watched it on ATV site 2/3 years ago. It’s too long. I just watched here & there. He disappeared for ages!! He was thin when he met Sheren Tang’s character. In the wartime he was too skinny as if he’s really fought for war & had not enough foods at the front. BUT when he appeared together with Amy Chan, he was really cute. I read news about TGOD. It said, his character supposed to die in war according to the original script that would end at episode 60 but ATV expended it & prolonged his character’s life till the end b/c of audiences' requests. I have Fated Love so I can say that they have great onscreen chemistry.![]()
Regarding Amy & Steve’s past incident, if you read a message posted by Amy’s fan, this will give you a clear answer. Here is the link:

Wow. Thanks for the link ejc99. It's a relief to hear that Amy and Steven are getting along really well now. Well I mean it had been 7 years since they had acted together (between Too Good To Be True and Love in A Miracle).. it'd be silly to keep that grudge for so long. And besides, since they had to work together again, might as well make the best of it. But I must applaud them for their professionalism. =)
I want to watch the bad takes for Love in A Miracle. I've seen a couple seconds of it.. wish there were more that I could watch.
That's my pleasure. What is Too Good To Be True, btw? Did you mean The Good Old Days?Originally Posted by kathie

Thank you, thank you for all the great pics of Steve & Amy. I've not seen any of their off-screen pics together before. Where did you get them? Just curious.... Are they all in chinese on the websites?
It's great to see both of them get along so well. They make a perfect couple either on-screen or off-screen. I love them in Fated Love except Amy don't look as pretty as she is in The Good Old Days. I don't like her curly hair and the short hair in Fated Love. I have to say both of them looked good at their age.![]()

Thanks for sharing the pictures! Yeah, where did you get them from? They're so cool. I like those pictures during the gift exchange. Amy looks really good there, still looking fresh and young. Is she growing out her hair or are those just hair extensions? She and Steve looks sooooo good together, especially with them embracing and being so close together. Aww..
Was it a birthday surprise for Amy on the set of Love in A Miracle? That's cute. =)
