I don't think this series is in the US cuz Taiseng(US distributor for TVBI programs) usually gets the series late for some reason.

TVB planned to air "Blade Heart" in Nov. as the anniversary series but they didn't finish the production until late Nov. Last year wasn't a good year to air tragic series so they decided to air BH early this year (stupid timeslot I'd say).Originally posted by cherrie

"Ding Hai Effect?" Long a** story. You can either believe it or leave it. In 1992, Adam played "Ding Hai" in "The Greed of Man" where his character was involved with "stocks." COINCIDENTALLY, Heng Sang (HK stock market) dropped to the lowest. Everyone made fun it of at first but then whenever Adam's series aired in HK, the stock dropped. They started to get "worry" and named it "Ding Hai Effect" or "Chow Goon Effect" (Chow goon = Adam's nickname). Stockbrokers don't like it because they lose money whenever stocks drop.
One year a man sued Adam for 1 million dollar due to his lost and of course nobody took his case hahhahahaaa. It was a laugh to everyone.
Nobody even cares about the fluctuation of stock market when Adam is not on air, however EVERYBODY checks the index whenever his series airs in HK and starts making news. Adam was not happy about "Ding Hai Effect" a few years ago, but he eventually tagged along with the reporters and joked about it.
There were stock specialists who got envited to the radio stations clarifying that Adam had nothing to do with stock. It's just simply a "coincedence." Stockbrokers should know the market fluctuates so it has its ups and downs. Adam is like a scapegoat or an excuse for them when the stocks drop. In fact, everyone defends Adam regarding "Chow Goon Effect."
The press likes to use "Ding Hai Effect" on the headlines and even TVB uses it to promote their series. I've seen tons of news that listed Adam's series from 1992 until 2004 and the points stocks dropped. LOL believe it or not, Adam is not only in the "Entertainment news" section, but he is also everywhere in the "Finance" section hehe. This is pathetic but funny huh?

I sort of feel sorry for Adam.

i've heard that shirley and raymond's characters are supposed to be same-mother different-father siblings yet they fall in love but can't stay together because of their blood relation [i saw it on "the making of blade heart"]
that sounds kinda sick [as in gross].
I like Mimi better than Shirley, eventhough her acting has improved.Originally posted by Chi Mei

I've just started watching this series and really like it. It's been a long time since TVB has produced a truly serious ancient series (without any irrelevent comical scenes and useless comic relief characters). So far the only scene that cracks me up is the scene where the Emperor caught a glimpse of Wong Yi (Shirley) across the balcony and nearly fainted. That reaction was so axagerated . This series is a refreshing change from the other light-hearted TVB series. It has a good storyline and very well-acted. What even better is that this series use no CGI and fake scenes. This series remind me of the movie 'Comet, Butterful and Sword'.
I heard that TVB has cut down the series from 42 episodes to 37 episodes for the HK release. The scenes that are cut are mostly the scenes with the china actors. I hope they don't do the same to the oversea release. I like the China actors especially the actor who played 'For Seng' and the actress who played 'Sima PingTing'.
Btw, what character is written on Yu ManFung (Adam Cheng)'s face?
Currently, my favourite characters are
1. Wong Yi - I like her because of her intelligence and wisdom. She a very wise girl despite her young age. Sometimes she is even wiser than other adults around her. Like mother, like daughter.
2. Mang Lui - This guy is such a filial son. His affection and filial piety toward his mother is so great that it's to the point of obsession. No one can hurt or critisize his mother one tiny bit. His great filial piety and loner personality make him a very interesting character.
3. Sima SiuYiu - this is also an interesting character. He is a really nice guy, but everyday has to pretend to be a mean and arrogant person to protect the innocent people from his sister's wrath.

Can anyone think of a reasonable explaination why Sima Yi's sword shakes whenever Yu ManFung is around?
BTW, I really like that actor who played Sum SingHor (that fengshui guy). I think his name is Wong Wai Leung. I've like him since seeing him in Vengence. Just want to mention this because there are so few appreciation threads for supporting actors.
for infor., episode captures, video...go to http://ap05.vzz.net like this series so far so good......
Yuman Fung and Sima Yi were once Wudang's disciples and they were each other's ONLY opponent. Sima Yi becomes crazy when there's a sense of any swords around. So I guess whenever Yuman Fung (and his sword) are around, Sima Yi and his sword shake.Originally posted by kidd

I've watched up to episode 10 now. Just 2 episodes ago, Wong Yi is my favourite character, but now my liking of her is slowly wanning (not that I hate her, just didn't like her as much as before). She seems to have lost all her common sense and wisdom after she fell in love with Mang Lui and became just a silly girl who leap before she thinks. All she ever care and think about now is Mang Lui and his mom. Like the part where Mang Lui is trying to catch the white horse. In her mission to stick to Mang Lui as much as possible, her nearly fell off a cliff. Mang Lui already told her to wait at the bottom of the cliff while he go get the horse. She, following along will only hinder Mang Lui, because the he will have to take care of her as well when go climb up the cliff, but this girl insist on following. Shirley's acting is starting to grate on me too sometimes.
On the other hand, the other girl Chun Wai is starting to grow on me. The more I see her the more i like her. Can't think of a reason why I like her. Maybe it's just Mimi Lo's great acting. I like watching her interaction with Sima SiuYiu. Too bad she fell in love with Mang Lui instead.
Lastly, Sima PingTing. She is not a person I would like to be friends with in real life. But she is an interesting character to watch. She is intelligent and has steelly determination. She would do anything (including risking her own life) to achieve her goal. I have a feeling that Sima PingTing will be the only young female character who will play more part than involve in romance.
