Do u choose actors/actresses whenever u watch tvb series?

I used to just watch anything as it was a privilege to get any tvb shows to watch at all but now...cast is a major factor but if the storyline is really really good then I'll watch it regardless of cast. I usually watch the first 1-2 episodes to determine the story first but then I think that may be a bit too soon. I have little patience lol.

well for me not really cause i dont rent them or anything i just watch it when it airs on tv and yea sometimes if i dont like it i dont watch it but mostly i watch the ones with my favourite actors/actresses in it

guilty! i have seen some bad films. at least i can say they were crappy films AFTER i've seen them

I do follow series which has my fav actors or actress but if it's a bad plot will drop out later but agree with NetDriftr sometimes you analyse the series later and then realise that that they were crap!!

Other than tat will be the plot, reviews, trailers seen or shows with gd ratings if not I will wait for the show to shown on TV.

I usually don't care cause I don't dislike anyone before BUT these days, I wil not watch any series with Charmaine in it. I can't stand that stupid look of her and her big nose and that stupid blank face expression. The weirdest thing is why is she the lead actress in almost every freaking tvb series?????????? No offense to Charmain fans...That's just one man opinion

It depends on what type of series it is. Genre usually takes precedent for me, so if it's one I like, I'll give it a shot no matter who the actors/actresses are. For instance, I'm not a fan of any of the thespians in CIB Files, but I thought it was going to involve some interesting cases and decided to watch it because of that. Unfortunately, I was wrong and pretty disappointed. On the other hand, I will try a series just for certain thespians even if I'm not too fond of the genre. For instance...Julian Cheung in a romantic series like Mei Li Xin Tian Di (A Beautiful New World).

I will still watch a show that has actors/actresses I dislike as long as the plot is good and I will definitely watch the drama series of my fav actors/actresses/pairing even if the plot is disappointing.

I will attempt to watch most series for a few episodes and whether I continue to watch it depends on the plot and cast as a whole, rather than whether I like the actors and actresses in it. Like the recent period show with Michael Miu, Bosco, Anne and Shirley, I love bosco, but the show is so boring I cant continue. Or lethal weapons, I cant continue either, even though I like bosco n raymond, and hate charmaine and sonija in it.
And I think it's a little silly not to watch a great show just because your least favourite actress is starring in it. In that case I wont have watched War and Beauty simply because of Charmaine and miss out on Sheren Tang, Gigi Lai and Maggie Cheung.

Well, i only watch Dramas n Shows when Michael Tao dayu is in it...
I'm frm Singapore n tatz makes it diff 4 me 2 know e news in HK...
But i do make an efffort 2 find out as much as possible...
I have liked him since i was abt 13 yrz old... it has been 11 yrz oreadi~ And he is still my one n only... Haha!!

Yes and No. I NEVER miss a single series with Raymond Lam in it. But besides that, I look for the plot. To me, the cast is not a problem, as long as the leading actor and actress is not too bad, I am fine. Genre is not a problem also, because series of any genre can turn out good or bad. So the most important factor to me, is still the plot, the dialogues, the characterisation. Screenwriters, see how important you are? Hehe...

don't we do that with american shows/movies? i know i do...i believe that if there's an actor i like in it, i will most likely like the movie as opposed to just watching some random actor...that's just how my brain works...but all the actors i used to watch are no longer in tv series...like:

i will watch a movie for sure if RAYMOND LAM was in the series...i think my name says it all

but if not, i'd watch it with these people, depending on the movie too, i like ancient series more...(but i have to be picky, it costs 50 cents per tape for me to rent Chinese series dubbed in Cambodia...i've spent so much money already on just my favorite actors...)

i agree i always choose series with actors and actresses i like. series with jessica hsuan, noel leung, charmaine sheh, louis koo and some more ppl are worth watching. if they act with ppl i don't like, i still watch that series. but there are also some series with actors i don't like (i.g. sonjia kwok, tavia), so i wud never watch it, though the plot cud be interesting. so i think that the cast is very important. i never like to watch taiwanese or korean series, because there are no actors/actresses i like. :P
