Qiu Feng decides Yang Guo is not worth fighting for so he sits back and chugs some wine while Ximen Chuixue and Ye Gucheng skewer Yang Guo.

Qiao Feng decides that he's better off hanging out with Ye and Ximen. 3 on 1, they all take turns pulling on Yang Guo's sleeve, sending him spinning in circles back and forth.

Xiao Feng not fighting with Yang Guo? Xiao Feng would never be so dishonorable.

Pretty much no contest, YGS and SMCS would win. Nothing against Yeung Gor, but he greatly lacks the killer instinct and the killing aura that the other three can generate. Plus in a 2v2, the YG + QF side is weaker.

Qiao Feng himself might be on par with YGS and SMCS in term of killer instinct and fighting spirit but he generally doesn't use any weapon when he fights (although he certainly knows how to use the staff very well).

Also to consider is that generally Jin Yong's heros are generally not much of a killer, whereas the non-major charcter but deadly swordsmen of Gu Long are of the one stroke, one kill type.

That's perfect setup for YG to start generating his chi and create a tornado of power that engulf all 3 fighters and spinning them 3 and launching them into 3 different directions. Afterwards, they all bow in front of YG, chanting "We'll not worthy!"

Killer instinct and killing aura has little to do with victory.

I think the Jin Yong team will take it. Sai Mun Chui Sheut and Yip Goo Sing were great, great swordsmen, and their inner power certainly wasn't weak, but I've never seen either of them do anything with inner power like the Jin Yong heroes do. Kiu Fung and Yeung Gor's martial arts techniques can't be too much weaker (if weaker at all) than the Gu Long duo's, but the Jin Yong heroes seem to hold the advantage in inner power.

It'd be a hellacious fight, however. Even if Kiu Fung and Yeung Gor do win, they might lose some body parts in the process.

Why Yeung Gor and Kiu Feng? Did Yeung Gor happened to pair himself with the strongest fighter in the Jin Yong universe because he didn't think he would win the fight with anyone else?

You really think so? In a life and death combat with high skilled participants, I believe that it is one of the most important factors.

Well i can't tell who wins but regarding the killer instinct thing. This is definately most important aspect in a fight. Eye of the Tiger.

My father told me that in a fight three aspects are most important and they are ranked in this way :

    1) guts
    2) strength
    3) skill

How many threads are now with YG in recent weeks?

    1) A brief analysis of the different participants in this proposed fight.

Simon: From memory, not even in the top 50 GL list. Reached his peak performances ages after YGS died when he was said to reach the DGKB-type level of using a swordless sword. No sword techniques at all. His technique is to kill. Early on in the LXF series, his internal energy was not the best in the realm and could be exhausted by opponents who have bigger internal energy and those that emphasis more on defence and evasion.

YGS: Reached his peak in the 3rd book of the LXF series. Died soon after. Key move is the angel soaring through the heaven {if that's what Moin translates it into}. Similar to Simon in that he emphasis on that one killer move to finish his opponent. Probably better than Simon in the 3rd book. Not a pure swordsman in terms of his political ambitions.

YG: Son of YK. Husband of XLN. Received wide teachings from QZ, Ancient Tomb, OYF, HYS, H7G and DGKB's condor. One-arm. Strong with his Heavy Iron Sword and also Sad Palms. Can be emotionally disturbed.

XF: Probably ranked no. 6 to 8 in the DGSD after SM, TSTL, LCS, XZ, DY; together with his father and MRB. Signature move is the HL28Palm which he revised to 18 palms. and also the dog beating stances, not in use much. Emotional as well. Agression increases when angry or after alcohol. Vast combat experience and is very flexible in strategy.

    2) Partnership fights.

XMCS and YGS: Unable to comment. Both of them fight alone in the LXF series till book 3. No instances where they both fight together as a team. Nothing would preclude them from doing so though.

YG and XF: YG fought with XLN mostly through the Jade Maiden techniques where careful understanding and love is important. YG did team up with lots of other ppl in gangbangs especially when in the passionless valley. He is able to coordinate his attacks with others. XF teamed up with his two sworn brothers in Shaolin and then in late in the novel when they all escaped from Khitan. He has good awareness of his partner's situation and will step in to help e.g. in the DY vs MRF fight in Shaolin.

    3) Aim of the fight and the outcome:

I have no idea why they will fight with each others. They would not have too much crossover unless the XMCS and YGS decided to team up to teach that playboy some lessons. Why XF would participate would be another question? He generally liked ppl who are honest and YG has more than his share of the cunning moments.

If the fight started though, the YG-XF team would have vast benefit given the longer range and the stronger palm technique and also the higher internal energy. even if the latter version of XMCS is in the fight, YGS would be the frst to be kicked out, and from then on it si 2 vs 1. Additionally, YG's Heavy Iron technique alone, imho, would cause more than it's share of grief for any sword wielder including XMCS, YGS, LHC etc.

    Outcome: YG-XF wins.

P/s: dunno why the match was proposed.

Han SOlo who is growing older and bitter and thinks more of the past especially when he wants newer and better wuxia fiction discussions now.

Think of high skilled monks, they are not fighting with killer instinct. They would beat you by submission not necessarily intend to kill you. Victory doesn't have to equal death for the opponent.

Great post Han Solo. Very good explaination for your outcome. I decided on this match because there are too many JY charaters matching each other. Thought it would be nice to fight with the GL characters now. I took my two favorite JY characters YG and XF and pair them up against the well known two swordsman of GL universe, XMCS and YGS. Was curious to see how the outcome would be.

    Thanks again for your input.
