1. All he did is see her face (even this was forced upon him) and then he was forced to marry Mu Wan Qing. This was a promise made against his will.

2. If he only loves WYY and doesn't want to marry MWQ, why tell her? If he tells her, there will be 3 possible outcome due to this revelation.
- MWQ realises that DY only loves WYY and gives up on him.
- MWQ forces DY to keep his promise and disallows him to take a 2nd wife. Both will be stuck in an unhappy marriage. DY will be unhappy because the one he loves is WYY. MWQ will be unhappy because her husband is pining for another.
- MWQ forces DY to keep his promise and also allows him to marry WYY. MWQ will be stuck in an unhappy marriage because there will be an imbalance of affection from DY who loves WYY more.

DY marrying MWQ will also create another problem. DY can marry WYY because no one knows she is DZS's daughter. But MWQ being DZS's daughter is already known by many. If DY marry MWQ, people will think it's incest. If he clarifies the matter, people will question his rights to the throne and complicates matter.

So, I don't think DY is being irresponsible.
