Final Fantasy 7: Advent Children

Advent Children is what the first Final Fantasy movie (The Spirits Within) should have been about.

All in all, AC is a pretty good movie. My only gripe is that the action goes by way too fast. It's hard to make out what's going on. I would expect these fast cuts in a live action sequence (maybe to hide the limitations of live actors) but not in a CG movie where anything is possible.

Yeah, I agree.. the action is kinda fast.. I was confused most of the time, but it is also what sent my mouth open wide

Would be a real relieve that Square finally come up with this movie. I have lots of friends who really hated the fate of Aeris in FFVII game. Lets see something different from the reality we know, this time.

This movie was so good. i realli like the graphics. cloud was hot. the hair on the characters like tifa and cloud were so nice. it was a lil confusing though. i guess it's bc i didnt play the game. but it was still realli good

I didn't like this movie.....didn't really get it! The graphics were good though, but half the time i didn't know what was going on.....and the fights were kinda weird too......extreme dbz style! And then in the end all these characters wonder out of nowhere....

LoL...I can't blame you. If you never play Final Fantasy 7, you'll be confused. This is a sequel to Final Fantasy 7. I guess they made this movie for people who are fans of Final Fanasy 7. You should play the game.

i got your back waiyu_tam! i dont like Aeris all that much either... maybe because i'm a Tifa fan.. before, i would go all berserk when i read, "Aeris n cloud are meant to be with each other.. They LOVE each other so deeply.. Tifa's a b**** who just got in their way.." Excuseee meeee~~ I mean, i don't see any romance between Cloud/Aeris even in the game.. But now, i dont even bother about it.. Wanna know why?

I finally got around watching FFAC, oh man, the fight scenes totally kick @ss, they made the stuff in Matrix look like kindergarten stuff. My favourite part has to be when everybody took turns to give Cloud a boost up so he can slice that annoying flying thingy in the air. The plot was nothing to talk about, just a pretty excuse for mindless action and more mindless action.

To those who has loved this world once and spent time with his friends before. Gather again and devote your time....

Movie starts with Red VIII(Nanaki) and his two assumed-to-be son running jumping up a cliff; 500 years later after FFVII, and 498 years after AC. Upon jumping above the cliff, Red VIII roars and Midgar is seen covered with greens, life.(For a moment.. I thought I was watching The Lion King =p, alright.. back on-script)

**screen shows some mountains(Northern Crater) and..**

Elena: Tseng, look at this!
Tseng: Eh? Found it.

**A helicopter flies around**
Inside the helicopter,

Reno: ..Hurry up!
Tseng: I'm counting on you, Reno!
Reno: Alright. (Reno smirks)

**Reno drives the helicopter nearer to a hole in NC**
**Gunshots are heard**

????: Hey! Hey! Hey!
Elena: Senior! Hurry!
Elena: Senior! **gasps**
????: Who is that?
????: Ugh...
????: Elena!
Elena: ...G-go..

**Gunshots continue**
**Reno drives the helicopter out**

**Screen switches to showing lifestreams**
Note! Marlene = narrator

Marlene: Lifestream.. The flow which controls the lives of the world... It is the source for all the lives in the planet. The Shin-Ra company found a way to use the lifestream as a resource. Because of that, we were able to live a good life.. But, many people think that it has drained the life of the planet. So, Shin-Ra tried to use force against those who opposed them. Shin-Ra had a special force called SOLDIER.

Marlene(narration, continues): There was one among them, named Sephiroth, who was the best SOLDIER. But, when he found out that he had been borned from a horrifying experiment, he loathed Shin-Ra, and, finally decided to destroy the planet. Shin-Ra and those who stood against Sephiroth, fought many battles and in the sheer number of battles, there was sadness. The ones who I loved also became a part of the lifestream and then one day, one fated day, the planet's power itself stopped all the battles. The planet used the lifestream as its weapon. Thus, the lifestream, gushed out from the world and took the battles, ambitions, sadness, everything and swallowed it up. Everything stopped. All this things happened 2 years ago.

*During narration, screen switches fom the lifestream, to where Cloud and his friends fought Sephiroth and to Midgar, in ruins, 2 years later

Kid A: Lets go!
Kid B: Okay!

Marlene: But, the world.. seems to have turned much, much angrier....

**Marlene looks at Denzel, sleeping on the bed**

Marlene: The Geostigma Syndrome...

**Denzel awakes from the pain of the syndrome**

Denzel: Hey... Marlene, what's going on?

**Marlene smiles and speaks to God(I assume or herself)**

Marlene: Please.. I beg of you. Please don't take Denzel away.

**Screen switches to public, and to Seventh Heaven's logo**
**Phone rings**

Tifa: **doing washing** He's not here anymore..

**Tifa sighs and goes upstairs to answer the phone(...duh!)**

Denzel: Cloud... where are you...?

Tifa: Hi! Strife Delivery Service. We'll deliver anythi.. ...who is this?

**Tifa smiles**

Tifa: Heheh.. I remember you, yo.

**Screen switches to the buster sword and a wolf beside it**
Cloud is seen standing beside Fenrir.

Tifa(voice message): I received a phone call from Reno in Healin. They say they have a commission. Cloud... how have you been?

Phone: No more messages.

**Cloud drives away after being attacked by the Geostigma disease**
**Kadaj, Yazoo and Loz arrived where the buster sword was**
**Kadaj kicks the buster sword away**

Yazoo: Hey, Kadaj.. is that brother's hometown?
Kadaj: Yeah..
Yazoo: You think they'll welcome us?
Kadaj: ..**smirks** No way..
Loz: Don't cry, Yazoo.
**Loz looks down and starts to wimper.

Yazoo: Mother must be with him too, right?
Kadaj: Don't know.
Yazoo: Don't cry.. Loz.
Kadaj: **looks down and saw Cloud** Look. Its brother.

**Screen switches to Cloud driving Fenrir**
**Yazoo and Loz looks at each other, laughs and drives down.. to play**

Note that I can't elaborate much about fights so, I'm gonna skip the fights.. but, I'll try putting in some screenshots and, I'll post the dialogues. Also, in this fight, Yazoo hurt Cloud's forehead.

**During the fight...

Loz: Where's mother?
Yazoo: Brother's hiding her, right?
^They're talking to Cloud.

Meanwhile.. **Kadaj, on the phone**

Kadaj: (cheerful mood)Did he trick us? Mother's really "there", isn't she? Don't yell. (in a kinda serious tone) I don't want to talk to you! Call the boss!

**Back to the fight, when a circle of Shadow Beasts starts to pound on Cloud, Kadaj calls them back. Yazoo & Loz laughs and leave. Cloud stops and saw a man on the cliffs..

**Screen switches to Cloud driving up to Healin Lodge**

Barret(voice message): (cheerful mood) Yo! Barret here! I did it! I found an oil field! O-I-L FIELD! Huge one!! We're sticking to plan, so I'll be able to see Marlene soon! Tell her! See ya!

Tifa(voice message): There's another phone call from Reno. He tells you to hurry. He sounded a little weird though.. be careful.

**As the voice messages end, Cloud arrives at Healin Lodge**
**As Cloud walks in the room, he grabs his sword and "greets" Reno's electrifier**
**Reno tries to attack him again...

Reno: Urhyaaaaaaaaaaa!!!

...but, runs out of the room instead..

Reno: Oh!

...Clouds locks him outside**

Reno: Just as I expected...

**Rudes comes out.. puts on his gloves**

Reno: Rude! You're soo cool!(I wonder how could he see...)

**As Rude takes out his electrifier.. Cloud stopped him with his sword**
**Rude hesitates**

Man on wheelchair: Just as expected.. ex-SOLDIER. Your skills are as impressive as ever.

**Screen switches to flashbacks**

Cloud: Rufus? ...You've got no luck.
Rufus: That day.. I...
Cloud: What do you want from me?
Rufus: Just before the building crumbled..
Cloud: Who were those guys who attacked me?
Rufus: I ducked..
Cloud: I'm leaving.
Rufus: We need your power.
Cloud: Not interested.
Rufus: We, Shin-Ra, have a debt to repay to the world. We owe the world the responsibility to put it return it from its current, pathetic state. There is no helping people, saying that it falls to us, but we must somehow repay this debt of ours.
Reno: Let me in!
Rufus: As our first step, we began an investigation on the things that Sephiroth left.
Reno: The Northern Crater!
Rufus: ..What do you think was there? Nothing, there was nothing. Don't worry. But, something unexpected happened. Someone got in our way. Those guys who attacked you... They're Kadaj's men.
Cloud: Kadaj..
Rufus: It seems that, they were meant to interfere with our plans. Really.. I don't know why...
Cloud: Why did they attack me?
Reno: You're with us, right??

**Cloud kicks the door**

Rufus: Kadaj's gang are young and.. vicious. They're extremely dangerous. So, we decided to hire a skilled bodyguard.
Cloud: I'm a delivery man.
Rufus: You're the only one. Please, ex-SOLDIER, Cloud.
Cloud: Would-be.

**As Cloud leaves...

Cloud: Who is this "Mother" they're talking about?
Rufus: Kadaj said something, huh? Well.. don't worry. There are children all over the world who needs their mother. I heard that you're living with the orphans. You don't want to bring smiles back to their faces? Our goal is to rebuild this world, Cloud.
Cloud: I....
Reno: Yo, please, Cloud, we're rebuilding the Shin-Ra company.
Cloud: Not interested.
**Cloud leaves.

Rufus and Rude: Reno!

**Screen switches to the church**
**Tifa and Marlene walks in**
**Marlene looks at the flowers then, at a box, and a place to sleep**

Marlene: Cloud's living here?
Tifa: It seems so.

**They walked towards the box**

Marlene: What?

**They both saw a piece of long, white clothe..**

Marlene: Just like Denzels'! Is Cloud having the sickness too?!
Tifa: He could have told us.. Did he leave because he was sick? He thinks that he's gonna fight it by himself.
Marlene: Fight?
Tifa: No... He doesn't has the will to fight..
Marlene: Tifa?
Tifa: ..Lets go home, Marlene!
Marlene: No! I want to see Cloud!
Tifa: ..You're right..(picks up clothe) It'd be nice to see him, right? ..Hey.. what should we do when he gets here?
Marlene: Go home together!!
Tifa: Before that, we'll lecture him!
Marlene: Agreed!
