Is this series by the same director as Kangxi and Yong Zhen Dynasty series?
Is this series by the same director as Kangxi and Yong Zhen Dynasty series?
If it's compiled by Er Yue He I think it is.
No. "Kang Xi Di Guo" and "Yong Zheng Wang Chao" didn't even have the same directors. Chen Jia Lin directed KXDG and YZWC was directed by Hu Mei. "Qian Long Wang Chao" was directed by Ye Da Ying.Originally Posted by Surferket

No, it's not a new series. It's the only one of the "trilogy" that I haven't watched yet either. It stars Jiao Huang (the actor who played Kang Xi in YZWC) as Qian Long.

Kangzxi and Yong Zheng are both very good series.
Yes, especially YZWC.Originally Posted by Surferket

It's a bit strange that red China allowed such sympathetic portrayals of the Manchurian conquerers.
Both are very awesome and well worth repeat watchings. Is the Chien Lung as good?
It cannot be denied that China and its people benefited from the stable rule of the Manchu (namely during the Kang Xi, Yong Zheng, and Qian Long era).Originally Posted by Surferket
I haven't watched QLWC yet, but from what I've heard, it's good, but not as good as YZWC or KXDG.

Just noticed the sub titling by Transtar for this series is pretty good.
After a third viewing of YZWC, I've started to watch this series. Unlike KXDG and YZWC, it only covers part of the namesake emperor's rule.

Very tempted to watch this one as I liked KXDG and YZWC very much and both are worth rewatching.
