For some weird reason, TVB like to pick actors around the 180 cm range..., Ron, Raymond, Bosco, Michael Tong, Steven Ma, Jack Wu, Luois Koo, Julian,Deep Ng, Edison, Edwin Siu, Ekin,Gallen,Marco,Sunny, and few more


I swear, I think TVB just wants to look at ppl that are 180 cm, and make them join the team.. no wonder.. most guys suck.. only looks no talent.

Height is important to an actor. A good, average height will be easier to match most leading actresses. Actresses these days aren't short either! The lead actor has to match or look short/or too tall next to the gal. That just doesn't look comfortable.

they are around 180cm..which i think is 5'11...a pretty good height for chinese males. the thing with actors is that they have to be able to match actresses. i've seen a picture of aaron kwok and gigi leung before, and it looked really weird because gigi's 176cm i think, and aaron's only 170cm. usually ppl like to see that the guys are taller than the girls, so they should be somewhat tallish. of course, that's not saying only pick in terms of height. there are many great actors who are short.

Not really, but there are lots of shorter actresses. The thing about 5"7, it seems to be the "optimum" height nowadays. So even if they aren't 5"6 or 5"7, and probably about 5"5, they will put 5"6 etc. So it will look better. And besides, with high heels, who will really know if you are 5"4 or 5"6?

If you put it that way, me too!

Joe Ma..sigh. there no way to like this guy as an actor. If he acts convincingly, that will help with his looks department, but this guy lacks everything except good height and body.

Maybe Joe Ma isn't a good example. I think height helps an actor a great deal except when you are an awful actor to begin with.

hmmm i think andy is suppose to be around 5'9
i saw him person before la and i'm around 5'5 so he's definitely not my height! at least 5'9

Actress are usaully 5'6" to 5'8", most are 5'7"

i don't think Jack Wu is 180...he was only slightly taller than myollie Wu in one of the serials I saw and she was wearing flats whereas in TITS, Myollie wore pretty high heels and was still considerably shorter next to Ron Ng.

I too notice the trend that most actors are around 180 cm tall or more...they just keep growing taller and taller. i think Sammul Chan is more than 180. Is he taller than Bosco and Kenneth Ma by the way?
