Default What are some great series with the worst ending?

That feeling you get when you are watching something great and you feel the scriptwriter just got shot in the head and drop dead so you end up with a trash ending.

Square Peg has to be one of them! WTF, a love triangle where 3 of them run towards each other in the end, held hands, smiles, and starts dancing in circle!! OMFG!

Not only that, they added a stupid part where the 3 girls fought over a dog.

I think TO catch uncatchable is disapoint ending, Dayo died at the end.
And Armed Reaction 4 is good, I like all the actors and actresses in here, I like Joyce and Marco together. I felt pity for Joyce, she suffered alot, but her husband missing at the end, cannot find his body, and no one know he die or not. This make me disappointed.

Square Pegs- great series- really bad ending

Racetrack(?) (Ma Cheung Dai Hun) A '93 series with Felix Wong, Ada Choi and Amy Chan- Felix died at the end, but it was a great series throughout.

The Academy- I thought it would better if Lee Sir (Miu Kiu Wai) didn't die- At least they could have made a sequel!

Defintely Square Pegs, it was the one where I got most irritated.

Basically any ending where the final couple dont actually properly get together or if its sooo rushed!

It's called Racing Peak. I think Amy Chan(Felix's wife) and Fiona Leung (David's Wife) were both pregnant and were waiting for both Felix and David to return but they both died. Really unneccessary.

    TOB. Definately TOB.

By the end of the series I was so emotionally involved with Ray and Qian Li. When Ray died I just wanted to rip the screen into pieces.

    It was very sad.

I wouldn't say TOB is a great series, perhaps good at the very best to describe it. The whole evil orthodox cult storyline is just a joke. None of the bad guys were really convincing and bad enough. I rather TVB made it a historical drama and stick with it and not intermesh two historical storyline and evil vs good plot together.

I still can't believe Ron Ng and Leila Tong did not get married and nothing happened between those two. It's like what's the point?

DIF4 - comes first to mind, and they had to have that stupid bar scene at the end.

Square Pegs - i was so dissapointed cas I never though that a comedy series could not have a happy ending.

A matter of customs - okay this wasn't the best series but the ending still shits me.

A step into the past - would have been heaps better if they Killed Sonija's character half way through the series like what they did with the princess.

To get unstuck in time - again not the best series but one that I enjoyed and what was with the ending, did not give me any answers.

OMG. If I had to list all the TVB series that have dissapointing and annoying endings, I could be here f o r e v e r. . . .

Recently though, I have to agree with most of the series you mentioned. In no particular order...
Square pegs Great series...the last 10 - 15 minutes just killed it for me. What were they thinking. That was not 'ambiguous/open ended' (ready for sequel?), it was just unsatisfyingly stupid.
To catch the uncatchable What can I say? Again - great/ funny series destroyed by last 10-15 minutes.
DIF IV. Speechless. But Fei could have made no other choice given circumstance.. (Please shoot whoever Okayed for Chin Chin to come back...)
A Matter of Customs. Still waiting for sequel and Wong Hei's head to pop back above water and happy ending
Blade Heart. After so many episodes and constant tragedy, you think they can at least put a light at the end of the tunnel.
Angels of Mission. All that anguish/fighting over love and then ....... nothing..

And its not just because I'm a sucker for happy endings. I like the ending for Lofty Water (although perhaps they could have made Raymond's character suffer a bit more in the end...) but just some sort of CLOSURE at the end of a series and not cliff hanging. TVB scripwriters take note! Please write as though you are writing for a FINITE series... end it properly (as if there is NOT going to be a sequel). Leave Cliff hanging series ending to the Americans.

I'm rewatching Against the Blade of Honor and wow...it's not bad. It's not great because it's probably not entirely accurate to Gu Long's Novel. The ending is just so gahhhhhhhhh....Ding Pang's wife Ching Ching wasn't suppose to die! What the heck...is with the disappearing acts at the very end too!!In the novel, they live happily ever after and raised their twin sons too.

Stick with the novel, don't try to be unforgettable by creating a tragedy!

The problem was that the scriptwriters for the series totally destroyed the original novel that the series was based on. If they actually bothered to follow the novel it would have been an excellent show. Longer but definitely excellent.
