Vincent is about the number one actor on my list for ancient looks! He's got that manly aura, cunning charms, and even that certain feeling sincereity (when he's in an emotional state) yet darring and stylish coolness to his personality and appearance. He looks rather old in modern, and kinda "outa place".. but man, just a simple long hair wig-extentsion and some ancient outfits and some touches of kung-fu butt kicking moves, he's to DIE FOR!

He's got that poise that which ever ancient character he portrays, he'd be able to make the guy stand out to perfection.

I can especailly imagine him portraying the role of Chor Lau Heung
"I'm madly in love with the girl that i've accidently shot with my own arrows; Xiao Yan Zi"

I heard that he was actually supposed to play CLH but he refused the offer to be in the series Long Xia. He said in an interview that he refused one of the Gu Long series to be in Long Xia. I am not sure if it is CLH since he didn't say specifically which Gu Long series but I have a feeling it is CLH.

The Gu Long series Vincent gave up to be in Long Xia is the sequel to Shi Mon Wu Heng. It's no great lost in my opinion. The lead actress in the original series must be around 50. She should be playing his mother instead of his lover.

Thanks for the info Damsel! I always thought it was CLH. XI Men Wu han is a horrible series anyway. What a big disgrace to GL's story...I am glad that he chose Long Xia over that then. I sure hope that Vincent will get to play CLH one of these days. Thanks for the pix! Oh my gosh, she is supposed to his lover?? You are right, she looks like she can play his mother....

You're welcome Trinie. Yes, she and Vincent were a couple in the series. She played a 20 year old. Can you believe it?

On CLH, from what I understand the role currently belongs to Vincent if they decide to produce the series. The question is when.

Thanks again Damsel! Oh my gosh, that lady played a 20 year old girl? You must be kidding me?!! I am glad that Vincent is in Long Xia instead. By the way, you saw Long Xia right? How was it??

Oh so Vincent will be playing CLH if they do film another version of it?? I can't wait!! There are like 7 different books on CLH. But one of them aren't that good. I hope they pick the good ones and stay true to the novel. If they do change it, I sure hope it will be good. Unlike the 2001 version with Richie Ren. Gosh was that version stupid!!

I really liked Vincent's performance in Long Xia but was disappointed in the story and the leading actresses. The story started off well but never reached the climax I was looking for. The bad guys were too easily defeated at the end. The actresses (especially the main one) were not pretty and couldn't act.

I'm not sure which story they'll use if they do film another version but the story they were planning to use in 2001 was the same as Richie Ren's version. Richie's version came out first and with issues on who had legal rights to the story, Vincent's version was cancelled/postponed. I'm fine with whichever story they pick. I just hope they cast people who can act as CHL's companions.

To Damsel, thanks for your info! Yea, I saw the pix of the actresses and they weren't too appealing. They weren't that bad either. At least they were better than that old lady in that other series. I guess I will skip that series then. Have you seen The Burning Tower of Lei? I heard that that series is really good. I think I would rather see that series instead.

Most the books on CLH are good except for the last one. I sure hope that it will be good as well. Thanks again for the info! I just hope that Vincent's version will be better than Richie's version. Richie's version was really really bad.....

Hi Trinie, I have seen The Burning Tower of Lei and I liked it. The story was a bit slow at first but got interesting once Chi Gi Gung accompanied the 9th princess on her wedding trip. Vincent was great as Chi Gi Gung and he had some really nice outfits. The rest of the cast did a pretty good job as well. I liked the actress who played the princess. She was cute. But I wish there were more focus on the battles and war strategies involved. I find war strategies very interesting.

Thanks for the info Damsel! I have heard a lot of good things about that series. I heard that it is accurate to history as well and isn't a long and draggy series. I think war strategies are interesting as well but I don't like war since it is so sad... But it is ok in series since I think it makes series more interesting. Thanks again!!

If I do watch it since each time I want to see a series in Mandarin, I have to buy it. Also, not every online store has it. How many episodes does it have?? I remembered that this series wasn't that long. What would you give it on a scale of 1-10.

This series isn't that long. It's got 22 episodes. I would give it 7 out of 10 because I was expecting and wanted more focus on Chi Gi Gung's battles against the enemy. I loved seeing him out wit the enemy.

Hey there everyone!!!!! Long time since I've come into this thread!!!!

At the moment I've rented Vincent's serie 18 Monks. Got the whole series now, but haven't really watched it in depth yet. Planning on doing so tonight though.

Hmmm...you know who at times reminds me of vincent? Zhao Wen Zhou!!! I've got Legend of Wu Mei Niang, but haven't watched it either. Just saw clips and I keep getting Vincent and zhao wen zhou mixed up!!!

To Damsel, Thanks for your reply. Oh so you only give it a 7?? I guess that is not bad for the series of today. But I am still going to watch it when I have the time to. Thanks for all your info!!Talk more to you later!!!

TO Goddessofhonour! I haven't talked to you in a long time. How are you doing?? I am on Spring break now but am really busy with school work. Anyway, I think that you may get them mixed up because Zhao Wen Zhuo's English name is also Vincent. He is Vincent Zhao while this is Vincent JIao. If you don't listen carefully it is easy to get them mixed up. I won't be watching anything until this summer since school is so hectic... talk to you later!!

Jiao XianSheng used to be one of my favorite actors. But after "Stealing Dragon Excahanging Phoenix", I can't say I've kept up with his career all too well. Though, I still have a whopping soft spot for him as, to be frank, who wouldn't? But I don't know any of the new stuff he is doing nowadays. Anyone care to suggest a few series to help a lost member of the flock rejoin the fold?
    Thanks.

To AnalyticChick I would suggest Fei Dao Won Ching (sequel to the Legend of Dagger Lee) if you haven't watched it yet.

Vincent's latest series are Long Xia, The Burning Tower of Lei and 18 Monks. Reviews and opinions on these vary depending on who you ask.

I liked Vincent's performance in Long Xia the most but the story and the female casts, especially the main girl, were disappointing. The story started off well but did not reach its climax. There were too much editing/cutting near the end. Long Xia was planned for 40 episodes but they cut it down to 33. The additional editing is noticeable. The Burning Tower of Lei was good and the cast performed well. I would have liked more battles and war strategies. On 18 Monks, the cast was good but the story was very predicable, except for the ending.

wow, everyone is back when I left once again! ehehe...but anyway, how is everyone doing?

    Trinie,

Hey girl! How have you been? school reeks eh? I know the feeling. Finals are coming up for me, and I am not looking forward to it at all.....nada... I heard a couple of Vincent's songs, and its not bad at all, including the one he sang for Tieu Ly Phi Dao. Trinie, what is your email? I will write you sometime. =)

So many new Vincent series, he's been rather busy. I haven't watched 18 monks but I dont plan to either, considering its not exactly a satisfying ending. His latest latest series or maybe he's still filming i'm not sure. But it looks suspiciously like Journey to the West. here are some pics...I really want to see this series. Before he filmed this series, he was filming the Tai Chi Master with Carmen Lee.

heres the pic of Tai CHi Master.

    thanks Damsel!

You found a lot of pics of that Tai Chi Master Wow, even with his white hair, and beard/mustache, he's still so handsome..heheh.. and he looks so much more like Zhang San-Feng than Dicky Cheung...only thing I'm resenting from looking at those pics are Carmens clothing...

I like the Tai Chi Master story and all, its just the ending he ends up with no one..and I'm such a romantic sucker..hehe but I wouldn't be satisfied if he ended up with anyone anyway considering the story and all.

Thanks again Damsel...do you know any of the other casts? Any other actresses..thanks
