Picture of a young Vincent. I'm warming up. I'll get to his co-stars later.

"And what is as important as knowledge?" asked the mind. "Caring and seeing with the heart." answered the soul.

Here is also one on Hua Luo Hua Kai (modern series Vincent did 10 years ago). This is one of my favourite movie videos. Vincent is adorable in the series.

Damsel, this is such a wonderful clip. I really love it. Yue Ling and Vincent look so cute together. What a pity they could not end up together. Gosh, I think I'd swoon to death if a handsome, romantic, and rich man pursue me the way Vincent did with Yue Ling.

Hey Damsel, what's Wu Dong II about? I've heard that Vincent isn't the lead in this series and isn't in it much. Is that true?

It's true. Vincent had very little screen time in the series. His combined screen time may be about an hour only, but his picture on the poster is huge. Giving people the wrong impression. Wu Dong II takes place years after Wu Dong. Vincent's character zsf is now an old man. Wu Jing is the lead. He plays Vincent's student.

Yeah, made me thought he was going to take lead role again or at least 2nd lead. I was tricked! Wu Jing was alright, but the story dragged. Too much soapy drama for me. Plus, I heard it has a very sad ending. Gave up after a couple episodes.

Thinking objectively the friend's story is the more interesting one. It showed how he went from a nobody to being the emperor (his many struggles along the way). He gained power but also lost a lot in the process. If done correctly this would be a very interesting character. One would sympathize with him. Unfortunately, the actor left me completely cold. He was too stone faced. I didn't care what was happening to him.

I thought Yue Ling looked and acted too mature. I know she's playing a mother but when paired with Vincent she seemed like his older sister. I wanted them to get together as well but I can see why they didn't. They didn't have the same experience or maturity. Vincent's character was still a big kid at times. He was impatient and hot-tempered. Sometimes I felt as if Vincent was Yue Ling's third child. He had a lot more in common with his childhood friend. I loved their interaction after they got married. Their fights were very entertaining. Both of them had the same hot temper.

BTW, Vincent's scenes after they got married were add-ins. They were not in the original book the series was based on. The author of the book, who also wrote the screenplay, really liked Vincent's portrayal so she wrote in additional scenes for him. She knew a good thing when she saw it.

You are so right, Damsel. The first couple episodes were promising. If the role of Zhu Yuan Zhang (spelling?) was carried out by an experienced actor, I believe it would have been more interesting to watch. The story from rags to riches has often held great appeal to me. However, in this case, the actor was such a bore. He showed very little emotion and had zero chemistry with both Carmen and Cheung Sai. I was nodding off to sleep in practically all his scenes. Well, I can't blame it all on the poor guy. Partly at fault would have to be the scriptwriter and director. Actually, he's not bad looking and I see some potential in him. But he needs to get more acting lessons. I wonder maybe Vincent should have taken this role. Problem would be finding someone to play Z3F.

I don't know why Carmen played 2 roles when the characters are not even related. She should definitely avoid these damsel in distress roles. Does not help make her a better actress at all. The character is seriously so boring to watch. Aside from her looks, I don't know why Z3F would fall for her. The other role requires her to be fiesty and skilled at martial arts. So there were more enjoyable scenes with her and Vincent. Too bad it was later in the series and she had less screen time .

From the clip of Yue Ling and Vincent, he really does look childish and tempermental. But also very handsome and romantic. Hey, I'm a true fan . It does make sense and more realistic that they should part as their personalities do not match. I would love to watch the series just to see a different side of Vincent's acting, but I highly doubt it since the series is rather old . You are so lucky!

kawaiigurl - I'm not Damsel, but since BXJ has not been released yet, we (viewers) do not know exactly how much screentime Vincent has. Based on the novel Jin She Lang Jun only shows up in flashbacks and does not have a lot of scenes. But the director has added more scenes for Vincent. We can only cross our fingers that he doesn't pop up for 1 hour as a guest star.

I agree with you there. Vincent would have done a better job. He's very good with emotional scenes.

I loved Vincent's character here because it's different from the other roles he's played. This character is very outgoing and expressive. All his emotions are written right on his face. If he's happy, upset or jealous, he'll let you know it. He is hot-tempered, sometimes speaking before thinking things through. I have a few clips a fan recently uploaded. If you like I can post a couple here. It'll be in Chinese but I can provide a brief summary of what's going on in the scene. Just watch it for the performance.

kawaii, it's been said Vincent's scenes have been increased to 7 episodes, but whether this means he'll appear in 7 episodes or has a total screen time of 7 episodes is not clear. Likely it'll be the former. Hopefully he will get lot of screen time in each episode. Fingers and toes are all crossed.

Oh, if you have time, please post the clips. Any will do. Don't want to be too greedy . Thanks a bunch, Damsel!

So our Vincent will have 7 episodes... well, it's better than nothing. All my digits are crossed as well. Hoping there are a bunch of scenes for him.

Below are clips from Hua Luo Hua Kai. The clips show the first time Vincent (Vin) and Yue Ling (Yue) meet. Yue’s sister (Sis) arranged a birthday party for her husband (Hus). Her main purpose is to introduce a college professor (Prof) she knows to Yue at the party. The woman in the white top is Sis. I won’t describe the goofy professor. You’ll be able to guess.

    http://www.megaupload.com/?d=AAQGXTIR – 1
Sis answers the door and sees Vin. She’s surprised because she didn’t invite him. He said he learned about the party from Hus (who is his business partner) and has come uninvited. She welcomes him and invites him in. A phone call comes for Vin. Sis asks him to answer it from the study. Yue is on the phone in the study.

    http://www.megaupload.com/?d=37XYZHS1 - 2
After being mesmerized for a few seconds Vin tells Yue he’s here to answer a call. Yue said she’ll be off the phone soon. He tells her to take her time. Vin guessed she’s Yue. They say “Hi”. Yue reminds Vin to answer the phone. Yue leaves the study thinking Vin is the professor her sister wanted her to meet.

Hus comes home with his secretary (May). Yue is introduced to Prof and realizes her mistake. Prof seems to have taken an interest in May.

In the dinner room Hus tells Vin to look after May. He’s trying to get Vin and May together. Vin takes the seat beside Yue after Prof takes his intended seat. Sis is frustrated because nothing is going the way she wanted.

    http://www.megaupload.com/?d=50X2PHH6 – 3
Sis tells Prof that the shrimp dish is one of Yue’s favourite dishes. Vin takes over after hearing this. Again frustration for Sis.

When everyone’s leaving Sis asks Prof to take Yue home. He said sure but he doesn’t have a car with him. If Yue doesn’t mind they can walk for awhile and grab a cab together. Vin pipes in at this point and volunteers to take Yue home. Sis tells him it’s too much trouble. He says it’s a pleasure and seeks confirmation from Prof, who agrees. May volunteers to drive Prof home. Vin thanks Sis just before leaving. Sis is totally frustrated at this point.

Side note: Sis doesn’t think Vin is right for Yue. She listed all of his faults to Hus – young, good-looking, successful and single. He’s got too much to offer. She believes Yue (being divorced with kids) is out of his league, and he will eventually hurt her if they get together. (Unfortunately she was right)

Vin and Yue walking together: Vin guesses the main motivation for the birthday party was to get Yue and Prof together. He tells Yue he doesn’t think she and Prof are compatible. He believes Yue is like him, still unattached due to having high expectations of his/her other half. Yue ignores the statement and asks where he parked his car. They’ve been walking for awhile now. Vin flags down a taxi, saying “My car is here”. He apologizes for not having his car that night, but (pointing to the taxi) his car is all over the place. Yue gives her address. Vin says he’s going to the same address. He’ll be visiting a schoolmate - Chin Han. She’s suspicious because she knows Chin and he’s a lot older. She asks Vin how old he is. He asks her to guess. She guesses 25/26. He laughs and says he’s already over 30. He then guesses she’s only 25/26. She gives up and the taxi takes off.

The opening song is 陪你狂亂 and ending song is 風的淚. Both are very good. I'll be posting a clip with the opening song later.

More clips on HLHK. The first two are before Vin and Yue met.

    http://www.megaupload.com/?d=OJFGDX61 - 4
Vin is coming home from the USA. Chin, Hus and Sis are at the airport greeting him. As already mentioned, Vin and Hus have gone into business together. Chin is the technical expert on their product. He and Vin worked on the product together. Hus introduces Chin to Sis. Vin, together with a girl, comes through the gates. Hus introduces Vin to Sis. Vin says he’s very happy to be home. Hus starts talking business and is interrupted by his wife. She tells him to wait until they’re back at the office before discussing business. Hus says his wife considers him a workaholic. Vin says going forward she’ll discover another workaholic, and that would be him. She says that’s fine as long as his wife is ok with it. Vin is “My wife?” A hand holding a card flashes before Vin’s face. It’s the girl who accompanied him off the plane. She asks him to contact her when he gets a chance. He promises to call her once he’s checked into his hotel. She said she’ll wait for his call and leaves. (I loved Sis’ reaction after realizing that the girl was a pickup from the plane. ) As they are leaving Sis sees Yue’s ex-husband and the other woman. She goes over and gives them sh*t. After awhile Hus goes to Sis and tells her not to make a bigger scene. Vin and Chin are waiting for them.

    http://www.megaupload.com/?d=XQOQIM97 - 5
After the opening credits (love the song by the way): Vin and Chin are at a bar. Chin says his fiancée will be coming soon. Vin is glad Chin has recovered from his divorce. Vin needs to make a phone call. As he walks away he bumps into a girl coming into the bar. Being the playboy that he is, he immediately hits on her. Chin comes by. Vin starts to make introductions and asks for her name. Chin says he better make the introduction, as she is his fiancée. Vin is all

    http://www.megaupload.com/?d=FR558Y5Q - 6
This is after Vin met Yue. He has asked her to be his personal assistant. She’s still debating.

At Vin’s office Vin asks Chin to help persuade Yue in becoming his assistant. Chin wants to know his real motive. Vin says he’s looked into her past work experience and believes in her abilities. It’ll be their loss if they can’t bring her on board. Chin agrees to help.

At Yue’s home, her sister doesn’t want her to work for Vin. She doesn’t trust Vin’s motives. Yue hasn’t been in the workforce for over 6 years. Why is Vin so determined to have her work for him? Yue agrees to call Vin and reject the offer.

Back at the office. (Wait... .... Ok, I’m good now ) Vin’s reaction: “My God! You’re rejecting me!? What reason do you have to reject me? Don’t you know you should not be rejecting me?” click “Hello, hello?” (He doesn’t take rejection well. I imagine he doesn’t get rejected very often. Poor Vin )

You're welcome guys. I knew you would love them. Didn't I tell you Vincent was adorable in this series? I'm actually very impressed with the quality of these files. Since there's no DVD version, the fan must have copied it from VHS or recorded directly from the TV broadcast. She did a great job.

BTW kawaii, these are not the only clips. I've only posted some of the ones I really liked. If you're able to do some browsing through Chinese sites check out the below link from Vincent's official fan club. You do need to register and login to see this particular thread unfortunately. It has all the clips to date. There will be more clips in the days to come I'm sure. Just check in periodically for updates. http://vincent.fans.tpe.net/ton/ShowPost.asp?id=5907

tweety, I haven't forgotten about you. If I see other really interesting clips I'll post them. Too bad this series is not available on DVD.
