Does anyone know if WAD will be aired in Hongkong...I thought it was a "grand" production -- I would prefer Sunny over bobby...

bobby is a good actor yet for the past few years all his acitng has been the "same"--funny chubby. He played a serious role with Kenix a couple years back--and then in forensic a serious role as well...did a great job..yet I still don't find the acting "unique" and the characters of the story to be a "wow"--

like sunny's character in WAD or Raymonds' character in LWOP--these are "wow" characters in my opinion.

And yes I think Leila is so great--whether or not she gets the reward for political reason to me she is much much better actress than Linda or Niki (although Niki isn't a bad actress)--she worked her way up in MANY series to playing naive sweet little girls (although I never liked these roles of hers) to maturer roles like SL, BB, and now WAD. She has done wonders to WAD and outshine Myolie. Unlike linda or niki they got more "substantial" roles even in the beginning.

I never understood why they would cast people like elaine yu in "major" roles like RDOV and safeguards--she's not up to par -- I even find Kate Tsui a better beginning actress..

i really don't think most improved go to kenneth or sammual...but better sammual..somehow i don't like keneth's acting..he overacts like in that role he played with roger/myolie (oldies singing movies) last year..even in love guaranteed i think he overacts..

I still would vote for Michael in LFD--he did wonders to that character..

does anyone know why tvb isn't airing WAD? i wonder if airing it overseas first will affect the ratings in hongkong?

What Have I Watched?!
Today, I just realized I have not yet missed one single series in 2006, that means I did not skip one series (so far), and I am not planning to skip any series this year, that will make an record...

The Best Series to Waste Your Time
Watching series like "The Bitter Bitten", "A Pillow Case of Mystery", "Au Revoir Shanghai" and "The Dance of Passion" (most episodes) is like a total waste of time, because the story weren't attractive at all. Sometimes, you will get lost, you won't really sure what the producer is trying to do in these series. However, you don't want to skip these series because it is just too hard to skip Benny, Bosco, Ada, Kenix or Charmain's series.

The Two or Three Days Weekend Series
There are also some series you can watch within two days, but forget the storyline in the 6th day, and those series are like: "Love Guaranteed", "Under The Canopy of Love" and "Trimming Success". If you got nothing to do in a short or a long weekend, these series will be perfect for you.

The Meaningful, Educational and Emotional Ones
If you wish to learn something, besides your heavy school books, then watch series like, "Safe Guards" "Le Femme Desperado", "Men in Pain", or even "Forensic Heroes" and "Bar Benders", there are lots of different things to learn from these series. These are also the most recommended series of the year.

The Ones You Can Skip, BUT Someone Is In It...
Sometimes, you want to skip a series, but you choose not to, because this person and that person are in the series. For example, for "Lethal Weapons of Love and Passion", I can come up with lots of reason to skip it, but I can not do that because Bosco and Raymond are in it. Same thing apply to "War and Destiny", you just can not skip Ron and Leila's series.

Current Recommendation:
I am currently watching "Face to Fate" right now, and I am really enjoying the series, even though the theme-video looked strange and the outfits looked cheesy. But, I really miss those fantasy type of story. "Face to Fate" is bring all the dark moments back... so, you should give it a try as well ;-)

hope TVB will also give best chemistry award this year...and those character awards DOES satisfy many actors/actresses because they may have did a great job acting some role but are not as good to be best actor/actress but STILL DESERVE an award!

The lighting up ceremony and press conference was held yesterday, marking the start of TVB's 39th Anniversary celebrations at Tseung Kwan O's TVB City. Accompanied by Miss Hong Kong winner Aimee Chan, Sir Run Run Shaw was in high spirits as he took part in proceedings. With TVB Divas Liza Wang and Carol Cheng at his side, he lit up the stage and over a hundred artistes were present in an atmospheric occasion. Guest performers for the event were Leo Ku and Joey Yung.

At the main switch on, the front row of artistes were all female stars. On Liza Wang's side were Ada Choi, Melissa Ng, Sheren Tang, Niki Chow, Louisa So and Christine Ng. On Carol's side were Charmaine Sheh, Myolie Wu, Yoyo Mung, Bernice Liu, Linda Chung and Tavia Yeung. Bowie Lam and Roger Kwok were at the centre of the second row. In one act, stars from new series "Pearl of the Orient" Liza, Charmaine and Roger performed a song and dance routine and the cast from "Welcome to the House" also put on a comedy sketch item.

Liza's series "Pearl of the Orient" will begin airing in November and so will not be included in this year's nominations for the anniversary awards. Liza says she does not mind because she has done her best already and she does not want to think too much. She supports Charmaine to win this year's 'Best Female Artiste' award, because she played four different characters in "Maiden's Vow" and this was quite unusual. Although Myolie is also not bad, her series has not yet aired and as people have only seen her look, they do not know how her performance is yet.

With Liza's support, Charmaine does not feel any pressure, but she is thankful for the encouragement and hopes not to disappoint Liza. Talking of her strong opposition from Myolie, Charmaine does not feel this as she says all of the nominees are strong opponents. With more reports of her having dinner with executives and exchanging new contracts for awards, Charmaine says she just finds this all very funny because she still has two years to run on her contract and the meal was just normal dining out.

Myolie was dressed in a sexy outfit for the occasion in a deep V neckline and backless dress. She smiles that she still does not have a perfect figure, but over the past few months, she has shown off her body no matter if she is fat or slim. With five nominations last year, but just one this year, Myolie does not feel her chances are reduced because she hopes to win with just the one chance. However, she does agree with Liza's comments. She predicts that there will be a lot of gossip about conflicts in the anniversary month, but she will not take notice of it and she does not feel anything about it.

This is the second time that Leo has been the guest at the lighting up ceremony and there are rumours that he has well and truly kicked out TVB's Godson Hacken Lee and that he will have a chance to take the Male Singer award at the end of the year. He insists that this is two separate things and people should not read too much into it. He also says that the words 'kick out' are very negative and should not be used because everything is arranged as work and he has not thought about winning awards as he will just go with the flow. Asked about reports that her three properties total $82 million, Joey immediately replied: "Don't make me happy, I am afraid of a falling property market. My mother looks after my investments and she knows how to do it. I don't pay much attention, but the upkeep of the three properties is too high, so I am planning to sell the apartment in Happy Valley."

Roger celebrated his birthday with his wife Cindy Au and a group of friends earlier in a Wanchai Japanese restaurant, but he was not in a good mood when he saw the press. However, he still posed for photographs with his wife.

I hope Sammul win something this time. But both category he is in has tough competition. The Best Supporting Actor category has so many good actors who gave great performance in their respective series (I think Wayne Lai deserves this award the most). In The Most Improved Actor category, I think both Kevin Cheng and Steven Ma also deserve the award.
